  • 수동형 거리 추정을 위해 다양한 기법들이 논의되고 있다. 바다 속과 같은 신호대 잡음비가 낮은 환경으로 인해 기존의 기법들은 오차발생으로 인한 정확한 음원의 거리 추정이 곤란하다. 그리하여 견인 어레이상에서 부어레이를 구성하여 부어레이의 빔 형성기를 가지고 다중 음원 환경에서 원하는 방향으로 표적과의 거리를 추정한다. 이 때 탐지 방향 이외의 음원 방향의 이득을 최소화시키는 null-constraint 기법을 사용하여 보다 향상된 거리 추정 기법을 제시한다.

  • The load frequency control of power system is one of important subjects in view of system operation and control. To converge within allowance load variation value the frequency and tie-line power flow deviation of each areas, we should regulate the active power output of power plant for regulation in system Applying the NFC(Neuro-Fuzzy Controller) to the model of load frequency control of 2-area power system, we prove that the control is superior to the conventional control technique through computer simulation. For verification of robustness, when we consider generator-rate constraint similar to nonlinearities of power system.

  • This paper introduces a real time inspecting and monitoring system by using wireless communication and image processing technique. The communication system is developed by using 80c196kc microprocessor and it has data acquisition function for several kinds of sensors such as pluviometer, temperature, tension meter, elinometer and so on. The image processing method adopts Lalacian of Gaussian operator and least square method to extract line features for the captured images and uses a relaxation matching algorithm based in global structure constraint satisfaction to distinguish the matching error for those features.   • In the control of the robotic manipulators, the variable structure control method for the get Point Regualation has a advantage of the insensitivity about parameter variations and disturbances. When the robotic manipulators are controlled by a point-to-point scheme, no path constraint is considered. Thus, the variable structure control method will be effectively applied only if the trajectory of the robot hand is estimated precisely. In this paper, the joint trajectories in the joint space and the hand trajectory in the cartesian space are calculated by the variable structure control method, and an algorithm is suggested to elaborate the deviation error of the robot hand from a straight line path. The result of this study will become a base of the effective path planning about robotic manipulators with the variable structure control concept.

An Algorithm for Robust Noninteracting Control of Ship Propulsion System

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for noninteracting control system design is proposed and applied to ship propulsion system control. For example, if a ship diesel engine is operated by consolidated control with controllable pitch propeller (CPP), the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded ship speed. For this, it is necessary that the ship is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies the minimum fuel consumption, and the both pitch angle of CPP and throttle valve angle are controlled simultaneously. In this context of view, this paper gives a controller design method for a ship propulsion system with CPP based on noninteracting control theory. Where, linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is introduced for the control system design to satisfy the given $H_{\infty}$, constraint in the presence of physical parameter perturbation and disturbance input. To the end, the validity and applicability of this approach are illustrated by the simulation in the all operating ranges.

Distance Geometry-based Wireless Location Algorithms in Cellular Networks with NLOS Errors

  • This paper presents two distance geometry-based algorithms for wireless location in cellular network systems-distance geometry filtering (DGF) and distance geometry constraint (DGC). With time-of-arrival range measurements, the DGF algorithm estimates the mobile station position by selecting a set of measurements with relatively small NLOS (non-line-of-sight) errors, and the DGC algorithm optimizes the measurements first and then estimates the position using those optimized measurements. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can mitigate the impact of NLOS errors and effectively improve the accuracy of wireless location.

Bypass-Based Star Aggregation Using Link Attributes for Improving the Information Accuracy

  • In this study, we present an approach for reducing the information inaccuracy of existing star aggregation based on bypass links when there are multi-constraint QoS parameters in asymmetric networks. In our approach, bypass links with low similarity are selected. Links that are not chosen as bypass links are included in each group depending on the star's link characteristics. Moreover, each link group is aggregated differently according to the similarity of the links that make up the group. The selection of a bypass link by using link similarity reduces the existing time complexity of O($N^3$) to O(N) by virtue of the simplification of the selection process. In addition, the adaptive integration according to the characteristics of the links in each group is designed to reduce the information inaccuracy caused by static aggregation. Simulation results show that the proposed method maintains low information distortion; specifically, it is 3.8 times lower than that of the existing method, even when the number of nodes in a network increases.

A Semi-Markov Decision Process (SMDP) for Active State Control of A Heterogeneous Network

  • Due to growing demand on wireless data traffic, a large number of different types of base stations (BSs) have been installed. However, space-time dependent wireless data traffic densities can result in a significant number of idle BSs, which implies the waste of power resources. To deal with this problem, we propose an active state control algorithm based on semi-Markov decision process (SMDP) for a heterogeneous network. A MDP in discrete time domain is formulated from continuous domain with some approximation. Suboptimal on-line learning algorithm with a random policy is proposed to solve the problem. We explicitly include coverage constraint so that active cells can provide the same signal to noise ratio (SNR) coverage with a targeted outage rate. Simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm properly controls the active state depending on traffic densities without increasing the number of handovers excessively while providing average user perceived rate (UPR) in a more power efficient way than a conventional algorithm.

  • This paper describes computational algorithms and a computer program for optimum determinations of wire conductor sizes of radial or tree-type distibution lones with given constraints. Here, The objective function is defined as the total summation of the volume or weight of respective conductor materials required for buildingup the entire distributing system. Four categories of constraints are applied to the obiective function. That is, on the respective load points constraint is imposed by a specified voltage drop limit, and the respective line elements are capable of carrying the current safely(safety current) and also must maintain the minimum thickness in viewpoint of mechanical strength and legal requirements. And finally, the conductor sizes have to be selected among the standardized size levels of the products. These kinds of optimization problems cannot be solved by the ordinary optimization tediniques such as the Linear Programming Method, SUMT Technique, etc. This paper, therefore, successfully devised the powerful alorithms to solve the problem, using the particular properties or characteristics ingerent to the radial or tree-type distribution system. The computer program developed from the algorithms was applied to several sample systems and shown to be exact and very efficient.
