현무암 석분 슬러지를 재활용한 인공경량골재의 물성개선을 위한 폐유리분말과 탄산칼슘의 활용 (Application of Powdered Waste Glasses and Calcium Carbonate for Improving the Properties of Artificial Lightweight Aggregate Made of Recycled Basalt Powder Sludge)

  • 본 연구는 최근 제주도 지역내 현무암 가공과정에서 발생되는 폐기물인 석분슬러지를 재활용하기 위한 방안으로서, 인공경량골재의 제조가능성에 대해 실험하였다. 또한, 현무암 석분 슬러지로 제조된 인공경량골재의 물성을 개선하기 위해 폐유리분말과 탄산칼슘이 사용되었다. 현무암 석분 슬러지와 폐유리분말 그리고 소성방법의 복합적인 요인을 고려할 때 경량골재 내부의 발포성 향상을 위해서 탄산칼슘의 양은 9 wt.%가 적당하였다. 또한, 제조된 인공경량골재의 흡수율을 저하시키기 위해서는 폐유리 분말은 50 wt.%이내로 사용함과 동시에 직화소성의 방법을 적용하는 것이 더 효과적이다. 좀 더 낮은 비중과 흡수율을 가진 고품질의 인공경량골재를 성형하기 위해서는 성형된 경량골재의 표면에 폐유리분말을 도포한 후 그 시료를 직화소성법으로 소성하는 것이 더 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

  • LIPCA (LIghtweight Piezo-composite Curved Actuator) is an actuator device which is lighter than other conventional piezoelectric ceramic type actuator. LIPCA is composed of a piezoelectric ceramic layer and fiber reinforced light composite layers, typically a PZT ceramic layer is sandwiched by a top fiber layer with low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) and base layers with high CTE. LIPCA has curved shape like a typical THUNDER (thin-layer composite unimorph feroelectric driver and sensor), but it is lighter an than THUNDER. Since the curved shape of LIPCA is from the thermal deformation during the manufacturing process of unsymmetrically laminated lay-up structure, an analysis for the thermal deformation and residual stresses induced during the manufacturing process is very important for an optimal design to increase the performance of LIPCA. To investigate the thermal deformation behavior and the induced residual stresses of LIPCA at room temperature, the curvatures of LIPCA were measured and compared with those predicted from the analysis using the classical lamination theory. A methodology is being studied to find an optimal stacking sequence and geometry of LIPCA to have larger specific actuating displacement and higher force. The residual stresses induced during the cooling process of the piezo-composite actuators have been calculated. A lay-up geometry for the PZT ceramic layer to have compression stress in the geometrical principal direction has been designed.

마그네슘 합금 AZ31B 판재를 이용한 자동차 하이브리드 후드 개발 프로세스 (Process Development for Automotive Hybrid Hood using Magnesium Alloy AZ31B Sheet)

  • Weight reduction while maintaining functional requirements is one of the major goals in the automotive industry. The use of lightweight magnesium alloys offers great potential for reducing weight because of the low density of these alloys. However, the formability and the surface quality of the final magnesium alloy product for auto-body structures are not acceptable without a careful optimization of the design parameters. In order to overcome some of the main formability limitations in the stamping of magnesium alloys, a new approach, the so-called "hybrid technology", has been recently proposed for body-in-white structural components. Within this approach, necessary level of mechanical joining can be obtained through the use of lightweight material-steel adhesion promoters. This paper presents the development process of an automotive hybrid hood assembly using magnesium alloy sheets. In the first set of material pairs, the selected materials are magnesium alloy AZ31B alloy and steel(SGCEN) as inner and outer panels, respectively. In order to optimize the design of the inner panel, the stamping process was analyzed with the finite element method (FEM). Laser welding by CW Nd:YAG were used to join the magnesium alloy sheets. Based on the simulation results and mechanical test results of the joints, the determination of die design variables and their influence on formability were discussed. Furthermore, a prototype based on the proposed design was manufactured and the static stiffness test was carried out. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed hybrid hood with a weight reduction of 25.7%.

  • The hydroforming process is rapidly gaining popularity in the sheet metal forming industry. In this study, hydroforming process is applied to the seat back frame. The load-deformation characteristics of seat frame are simulated according to the test requirements by FMVSS. Structural analyses were performed with an analysis package program named I-DEAS for the conventional and the hydroforming seat back frame. The seat back frame made by hydroforming is not only about 23 percent lightweight, but also about 20 percent high strength compared with conventional that.

  • 부순골재 생산과정에서 발생하는 석분토와 화력발전소에서 발생하는 Bottom ash를 이용한 인공경량골재의 물리 화학적 특성을 분석하여 콘크리트용 인공경량골재의 사용여부를 검토하였는데, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 석분토(이하 SD)와 Bottom ash(이하 BA)의 혼입비율에 따른 인공경량골재의 특성으로는 BA의 혼입비율이 커질수록 미연탄소와 $Fe_2O_3$의 함량 증가로 인해 소성 시 가스 발생량이 증가하여 밀도는 낮아지고 흡수율은 증가하는 것으로 나타났는데, 화학조성상 적절한 혼합비율은 SD : BA = 5:5 내외일 것으로 판단된다. Flux제 첨가에 따른 인공경량골재의 특성으로는 $Na_2SO_4$ 첨가율이 증가할수록 밀도는 낮아졌다. 이에 본 연구범위내에서는 SD: BA = 5:5, $Na_2SO_4$ 2%, $Fe_2O_3$ 1%, 소성 온도 $1,150^{\circ}C$, 소성시간 15분에서 밀도 $1.52g/cm^3$, 흡수율 7.3%의 인공경량골재를 개발할 수 있었다.

  • Lightweight steel is a crucial material that is being actively studied because of increased carbon emissions, tightening regulations regarding fuel efficiency, and the emergence of UAM, all of which have been recently labeled as global issues. Hence, new strategies concerning the thickness and size reduction of steel are required. In this study, we manufacture lightweight steel of the Fe-Mn-Al-C system, which has been recently studied using the DED process. By using 2.8 wt.% low-Mn lightweight steel, we attempt to solve the challenge of joining steel parts with a large amount of Mn. Among the various process variables, the laser scan power is set at 600 and 800 W, and the laser scan speed is fixed at 16.67 mm/s before the experiments. Several pores and cracks are observed under both conditions, and negligibly small pores of approximately 0.5 ㎛ are observed.

  • Due to the nature of the existing load, the criteria of assessing the intensity of the lightweight wall's impact resistance has been though of as obscure. The current study, therefore, focuses on the standardized assessment of the impact resistance to the force of the large soft body applying to the lightweight wall. The gypsum board wall showed a low level of the maximum residual displacement. It is, however, required to be careful about the selection of the finishing process since the high level of the maximum displacement is likely to cause harm to finishing materials. Unlike the gypsum board, the ALC block wall displayed a considerable rigidity while showing almost no maximum residual displacement. Even with the low level of the maximum displacement due to the stiffness, the ALC block wall is still likely to be affected by the vibration derived from any impact on the surface, which demands a need for additional study. The future experimental study, accordingly, will focus on the impact of the vibration on finishing materials, consequently leading to the accurate prediction of the possibility of potential damage to the lightweight wall caused by the large soft body.

데이터베이스에서 유사도 질의 처리 비용 감소 방법 (A Method of Reducing the Processing Cost of Similarity Queries in Databases)

  • 오늘날 대부분의 데이터는 데이터베이스(database: DB)에 저장된다. 이러한 DB 환경에서 사용자는 자신이 원하는 데이터를 찾아줄 것을 DB에게 요청하게 된다. DB 질의 중 유사도 질의는 DB 사용자가 원하는 조건으로 유사도가 포함되어 있는 것을 말한다. 그러나 유사도 질의를 처리하기 위한 과정은 처리 레코드의 범위를 줄일 수 있는 색인을 이용하기 힘들어 테이블의 전체 레코드에 대해서 매번 유사도를 계산하는 비용이 높다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 경량 유사도 함수를 정의한다. 경량 유사도 함수는 유사도 함수에 비해 데이터를 여과하는 정확도는 떨어지지만 비용이 유사도 함수에 비하여 적게 소모되는 특징이 있다. 이러한 경량 유사도 함수의 특징을 이용하여 유사도 질의 처리 비용 감소 방법을 제시한다. 그리고 유클리드 거리 함수에 경량 유사도 함수로 체비쇼프 거리를 제시하고 기존의 유사도 함수를 이용하는 질의와 경량 유사도 함수를 이용하는 질의의 처리 비용을 비교한다. 그리고 실험을 통하여 유클리드 유사도에 대한 경량 유사도 함수로 체비쇼프 거리를 적용하였을 때 유사도 질의 처리 비용이 감소하는 것을 확인한다.

  • Due to new requirements of the automotive industry, concerning lightweight and non-corroding construction, new production methods, The Hot Air Forming process of aluminum alloys are of special interest. The disadvantage of aluminum alloy is the poorer formability compared to steel. The Hot Air Forming process is one of the forming process receiving recent attention. In the current study, Fabrication of aluminum rear subframe has been attempted using seam and seamless aluminum tubes. On the base of hot workability of the extruded tube and PAM-STAMP simulation results, Optimum condition for fabricating aluminum rear sub(lame parts by Hot Air Forming could be determined.

  • This paper aims to ensure describe the a spring-back prevention technique for improving shape fixability by using an ultra-high strength steel sheet with 980 MPa to develop a lightweight seat rail parts. Ultra-high strength steel gives a potential for considerable weight reduction and a cost-effective way to produce energy efficient vehicles. The influence of a spring-back of seat rail parts on the shape fixability in forming processes was investigated to be solved by an adjustment of the appropriate tool design and process parameters. The computed results for improving shape fixability were in good agreement with the experimental results.
