Electro-Active-Paper Actuator Made with LiCl/Cellulose Films: Effect of LiCl Content

  • The cellulose-based, Electroactive Paper (EAPap) has recently been reported as a smart material with the advantages of lightweight, dry condition, biodegradability, sustainability, large displacement output and low actuation voltage. However, it requires high humidity.. This paper introduces an EAPap made with a cellulose solution and lithium chloride (LiCl), which can be actuated in room humidity condition. The fabrication process, performance test and effect of LiCl content of the EAPap actuator are illustrated. The bending displacement of the EAPap actuators was evaluated with actuation voltage, frequency, humidity and LiCl content changes. At a LiCl/ cellulose content of 3:10, the displacement output was maximized at a room humidity condition. Even though the displacement output was less than that of a high humidity EAPap actuator, the mechanical power output was not reduced due to the increased resonance frequency, which is promising for developing EAPap actuators that are less sensitive to humidity.

  • 섬유로 강화된 열가소성 복합재의 성형과정 중에는 유동특성에 미치는 금형내 충전패턴의 제어나 섬유배향 및 섬유함유율과 같은 성형공정 인자들의 영향을 예측하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 등온상태에서 두께가 얇거나 두꺼운 성형품을 압축성형하는 경우에 발생하는 유동선단과 압력분포, 속도구배 등을 예측함을 목적으로 한다. 이때 복합재는 비압축성 뉴턴유체로 하였으며, 성형공정 변수들에 미치는 미끄럼 지배상수 $\alpha$와 점성비 $\zeta$의 영향에 대해서 고찰한 내용을 보고한다.

  • Currently, studies on weight reduction and fuel efficiency increase are the most important topics in the automotive industry and many studies are under way. Among them, weight reduction is the best way to raise fuel efficiency and solve environmental pollution and resource depletion. Materials such as aluminum, magnesium and carbon curing materials can be found in lightweight materials. Among these, research on improvement of bonding technology and manufacturing method of materials and improvement of material properties through study of ultrahigh strength steel sheet is expected to be the biggest part of material weight reduction. As the strength of the ultra hight strength steel sheet increases during forming, it is difficult to obtain the dimensional accuracy as the elastic restoring force increases compared to the hardness or high strength steel sheet. It is known that the spring back phenomenon is affected by various factors depending on the raw material and processing process. We have conducted analytical evaluations and studies to analyze the springback that occurs according to the cross-sectional shape of the ultra high tensile steel sheet.

  • Magnesium alloys are expected to be widely used fur the parts of structural and electronic appliances due to their lightweight and EMI shielding characteristics. While the die casting has been mainly used to manufacture the parts from the magnesium alloys, the press forming is considered as an alternative to the die casting for saving the manufacturing cost and improving the structural strength of the magnesium alloy parts. However, the magnesium alloy has low formability at room temperature and therefore, in many cases, forming at elevated temperatures is necessary to obtain the required material flow without failure. In the present study, square cup deep drawing tests using the magnesium alloy AZ31 sheet were experimentally conducted at various elevated temperatures as well as room temperature, and the corresponding finite-element simulations, which calculated the damage evolution based on the Oyane's criterion, were conducted using the stress-strain relations from the tensile tests at various temperatures. The formability predictability by the finite-element analysis was investigated by comparing the predicted damage distributions over the deformed AZ31 sheet at elevated temperatures with the corresponding experimental deformations with failures.

  • The current automotive is seeking the improvement of performance, the prevention of environmental pollution and the saving of energy resources according to miniaturization and lightweight of the components. And the variance analysis on the basis of structure analysis and DOE is applied to the lower control am. We have proposed a statistical design model to evaluate the effect of structural modification by performing the practical multi-objective optimization considering weight, stress and fatigue lift. The lower control arm is performed the fatigue analysis using the load history of real road test. The design model is determined using the optimization of acquired load history with the fatigue characteristic. The characteristic function is made use of the optimization according to fatigue characteristics to consider constrained function in the optimization of DOE. The structure optimization of a lower control arm according to fatigue characteristics is performed. And the optimized design variable is D=47 m, T=36mm, W=12 mm. In the real engineering problem of considering many objective functions, the multi-objective optimization process using the mathematical programming and the characteristic function is derived an useful design solution.

전류가열 사출금형에 의한 자동차 부품의 표면개선에 관한 연구 (A Study of Surface Improvement for Automotive Part by Injection Mold of Electronic Heating)

  • The light-weight of the research and development materials is actively carried out by overseas automobile companies and technology development continues in Korea. For the sake of fuel efficiency, the development of lightweight technology by improving the manufacturing method has been very effective. Recently, to maximize the effects of light weight, automotive interior parts have been applied by the micro-cellular injection molding using supercritical fluids and we call the Mucell manufacturing. This technique causes a problem in the quality of the surface of the products, because the shooting cells are revealed as the surface layer of the products by forming micro cells at the center of the products during injection molding. To overcome these phenomenon, we increased the temperature of injection molding using joule heating until critical value. In this study, we have predicted the problem of Mucell injection molding through the finite element analysis as changed the temperature by joule heating. From the result of finite element analysis, we have determined the optimized process and made the injection mold included electric current heating system with Mucell manufacturing analyzed the surface characteristics of the injection product according to changing mold temperature.

컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용한 자동차용 스프링 링크의 경량화 설계 (Light-weight Design of Automotive Spring Link Based on Computer Aided Engineering)

  • It is well known that the targeted fuel efficiency could only be achieved by more than 40% reduction of the vehicle weight through improved design and extensive utilization of lightweight materials. In order to obtain the goal of the weight reduction of automobiles, the researches about lighter and stronger spring link have been studied without sacrificing the safety of automotive components. In this study, the weight reduction design process of spring link could be proposed based on the variation of von-Mises stress contour by substituting an aluminum alloys (A356) having tensile strength of 245 MPa grade instead of SAPH440 steels. In addition, the effect of the stress and stiffness on shape variations of the spring link were examined and compared carefully. It could be reached that this approach could be well established and be contributed for light-weight design guide and the safe design conditions of the automotive spring link development.

  • 현재 지구온난화 등의 환경문제로 인해 각종 산업분야에서 정량화에 대한 요구가 증대되어 해양산업에도 그 수요가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 차세대 경량화 재료인 마그네슘이 활용되기 위해서 반드시 극복해야할 가장 중요한 특성인 내식특성에 대하여 고찰하고, 그 내식특성 향상을 위한 마그네슘 박막의 Morphology나 결정배향성의 영향을 해명하고자 하였다. 실험결과로부터 제작한 Mg 박막의 전기화학적 내식특성은 Ar 가스압이 높은 조건에서 제작한 막일수록 내식특성이 우수하였다. 이러한 경향은 표면 및 단면의 Morphology와 결정배향성과의 상관관계를 통하여 설명 가능하였다.

  • 네트워크 이동성 환경에서 기존에 제안된 프로토콜들은 많은 계산비용을 필요로 하거나 바인딩 갱신의 지연을 초래 할 수 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 네트워크 이동성 환경에서 안전한 seamless 핸드오버를 지원하기 위한 경량화된 인증 프로토콜을 제안한다. 이 방식은 바인딩 갱신 지연 시간을 최대한 줄이기 위해 접속 라우터간의 그룹키와 키 발행 서버로부터 발행된 마스터키를 이용하여 이동 라우터와 접속 라우터 간에 빠른 상호인증을 수행한다. 분석 결과 기존의 제안된 프로토콜보다 적은 계산량으로 빠른 바인딩 갱신을 수행할 수 있었으며 기존의 공격에도 강건함을 보였다.

  • In the present day, the needs of new steel for lightweight car-body have been increased in the automotive industry. however, the resistance spot welding is difficult to apply to the new steel because of the narrow weld current range and defects. As the solutions to these problems, adhesive bonding process is proposed. Adhesive bonding which reduce noise and vibration can be applied to joining the new steel. In this study, crash tests of b-pillar applied the resistance spot welding, structural adhesive bonding, the mixture of the structural adhesives and resistance spot welding were performed. And FEM crash model for b-pillar applied the structural adhesive bonding was developed. The results of experiment and analysis on b-pillar crash test were compared to verify the validity.
