In this paper, we proposed a smart lighting management system controls the lighting efficiently to reduce energy consumption while satisfying user's lighting requirements. The proposed system considers the available daylight intensity and indoor light source to satisfy the lighting requirements of each user according to the work environment. In addition, for user convenience, we have developed different user interfaces for lighting control including local interface, and remote interface through internet or Bluetooth for personal computer as well as smart phones. The proposed system satisfies the lighting requirements of each user according to the corresponding work environment. The proposed smart lighting management system utilizes the lighting energy efficiently, and can be considered a significant contribution towards future green buildings.

In this study, we constructed several scenarios that are required for LED lighting, and we designed and implemented an LED lighting control system to operate these scenarios to confirm their behavior. An LED lighting control system is a hybrid control board that is designed by combining LED controllers and SMPS, consisting of an AC/DC power supply part that converts AC 220 V into DC 12 V, and a drive and control part that controls the scenario and color of the LED module. Conventional LED light controllers have an input power of DC 12 V, so when using the input AC 220 V, the SMPS must be connected to the LED light controller. To eliminate this inconvenience, a hybrid LED lighting control system was configured to combine LED lighting controllers and SMPS into one control system. Furthermore, we designed a control system to represent the most appropriate color according to the input of the distance and illumination using a fuzzy control system to conduct computer simulations.

This study examines influences of a daylight dimming control system on the variation of indoor illuminance and lighting energy savings in a small office space. Field measurements and a series of computation were performed for typical types of sky conditions in summer. Results indicate that the daylight illuminance under clear and partly-cloudy sky were close to the target illuminance during a majority of time due to a higher ratio of window to wall. However, the target illuminance was not kept successfully due to the variation of photosensor signals which were strongly influenced by desktop illuminance. The system with partially-shielded conditions succeeded to keep target illuminance under clear sky conditions. The system failed under overcast sky conditions since the electric light output from fixtures caused excessive signals to photosensors due to insufficient daylight on a desktop. Unshielded and fully-shielded conditions were not recommended for effective controls of the systems. The influence of lighting fixtures on photosensors should be minimized to achieve successful lighting controls by daylight dimming systems.

To reduce costs and address other practical concern related to architectural lighting, we have been involved in various aspects of advanced daylighting design and control. If we look toward future building trends, we see that the advanced has already successfully deployed such complex lighting control systems. This paper takes a broad view of what advanced manufacturers have done to develop energy efficient lighting control technologies such as sensors, lumen maintenance, time of day scheduling, peak demand reduction and so forth. First of all strategies, daylighting controls would also need to be commissioned to respond to the specific daylighting signature of the zone. To translate the daylight in term of the amount of energy savings, an electric lighting system is designed and automatic on-off control system integrated with the contribution of daylighting has been applied to the operating of the artificial lighting. The lighting analysis program, Lumen-Micro predicts the optimal layout of conventional fluorescent and incandescent lighting fixtures to meet the designed lighting level and calculates unit power density, which translates the demanded amount of lighting energy.
DMX512 protocol controls a lighting system for outdoor lightings and stage lightings. But lighting systems using DMX512 protocol based wired needs expensive cost in installation, maintain, repair. And it has restrictions about control channel numbers and its ranges. Also, it needs additional equipments for the control of lighting systems which installed on wide area. In this paper, we propose wireless control technique and a ZDMX module for lighting systems on wide area based on DMX512 protocol. Our technique solves problems of DMX512 protocol, and it can control lighting systems on wide area effectively. We developments the LED lighting system using ZDMX modules and we have confirmed the suitability of our technique for real environment.
These studies aimed to determine how lighting might be used to improve feed intake and reduce aggressive behavior in newly weaned pigs. To examine whether this objective could be achieved an experiment was conducted to compare performance, behavior and body condition of weaners over 17-45 days, provided similar lighting quality (i.e. color temperature, color rendering index and lighting distribution) after weaning that piglets experienced prior to weaning. Triphosphor (TP) lighting to simulate daylight was provided during the day while at night, Pascal red (PR) lighting was provided to simulate the night-light piglets previously had received from infrared heating lamps. This treatment was compared to weaners provided conventional cool-white fluorescent light during the day only. Weaners on treatment lighting from 17-45 days of age showed no improvement in body weight or feed conversion at 24, 31, 38 and 45 days compared to the controls. There was, however, a significant improvement (p<0.05) in feed intake in the first week of weaning for weaners provided TP/PR lighting. Over the first 3 days of weaning, pigs on TP/PR lighting showed an increase (p<0.05) in the incidence of ear chewing but reduced (p<0.05) levels of nosing the abdomen of other pigs and reduced (p<0.05) occurrences of being stood on by other pigs. Females exhibited more (p<0.05) mounting and nosing behaviors and rubbing the heads of other pigs than males. On the other hand, males engaged in more (p<0.05) fighting, nipping, ear chewing and standing on other pigs compared to females. Pigs provided PR lighting on the first night of weaning engaged in higher (p<0.05) incidences of nosing and tail sucking behaviors, more (p<0.05) head thrusting, fighting and ear chewing compared to control pigs. The body condition of weaners provided the TP/PR lighting treatment was significantly poorer (p<0.05) compared to weaners on control lighting. In conclusion there was no improvement in production performance of weaners provided new technology lighting apart from the improvement in feed intake in the first week weaners were exposed to the TP/PR lighting.

LED is divided to multichannel in order not to exceed a certain voltage in aspects of electric standard. However, it's not possible to know in accordance with what channel SMPS controls the constant voltage and current. In order to solve this problem, it needs to detect the maximum LED String voltage which is applied to LED control circuit, and it is possible to minimize the voltage drop when a difference of LED string voltage occurs by each channel if LED is controlled by the maximum LED string voltage detected. In addition, it is also possible to maximize the efficiency of LED if change LED voltage by detecting the maximum voltage. Feasibility of this claim was verified through implementation of the circuit.
Daylight illuminance are always changing. Nevertheless, when the energy savings due to daylight are calculated an accurate estimate of daylight availability is required. Where artificial lighting is photoelectrically controlled the relevant quantity is the cumulative distribution of daylight illuminance. This paper describes an experiment which measured daylight illuminance over one whole working year. Also using measured data on availability of daylight, equations are drived to predict the maximum possible savings from photoelectric controls for an interior lighting installation. The equations are applied to a space as a worked example and figures are given for the relative maximum savings in artificial lighting use of three control systems: on/off, dimming and mixed.
