The number of CCTV units is rapidly increasing annually, and the demand for intelligent video-analytics system is also increasing continuously for the effective monitoring of them. The existing analytics engines, however, require considerable computing resources and cannot provide a sufficient detection accuracy. For this paper, a light analytics engine was employed to analyze video and we collected metadata, such as an object's location and size, and the dwell time from the engine. A further data analysis was then performed to filter out the target of interest; as a result, it was possible to verify that a light engine and the heavy data analytics of the metadata from that engine can reject an enormous amount of environmental noise to extract the target of interest effectively. The result of this research is expected to contribute to the development of active intelligent-monitoring systems for the future.

In this study we have developed a hyperspectrum imaging system for highly sensitive and effective imaging analysis. An optical setup was designed using acoustic optical tunable filter (AOTF) for high sensitive hyperspectrum imaging. Light emitted by mercury lamp gets split in to diffracted and undiffracted beams while passing though AOTF. GFP transfected HEK-293 cell line was used as a model for in vitro imaging analysis. Cells were first, analyzed by fluorescence microscope followed by flow cytometric analysis. Flow cytometric analysis showed 66.31% transfection yield in GFP transfected HEK-293 cells. Various images of GFP transfected HEK-293 cell were grabbed by collecting the diffracted light using a CCD over a dynamic range of frequency of 129-171 MHz with an interval of 3 MHz. Subsequently, for in vivo image analysis of GFP transfected cells in mouse, a whole-body-imaging system was constructed. The blue light of 488 nm wavelength was obtained from a Xenon arc lamp using an appropriate filter and transmitted through an optical cable to a ring illuminator. To check the efficacy of the newly developed whole-body-imaging system, a comparative imaging analysis was performed on a normal mouse in presence and absence of Xenon arc irradiation. The developed hyperspectrum imaging analysis with AOTF showed the highest intensity of green fluorescent protein at 153 MHz of frequency and 494 nm of wavelength. However, the fluorescence intensity remained same as that of the background below 138 MHz (475 nm) and above 162 MHz (532 nm). The mouse images captured using the constructed whole-body-imaging system appeared monochromatic in absence of Xenon arc irradiation and blue when irradiated with Xenon arc lamp. Nevertheless, in either case mouse images appeared clearly.

This paper proposes a method for structuring the preprocessing process of a training image when color is applied using Pix2Pix, one of the adversarial generative neural network techniques. This paper concentrate on the prediction result can be damaged according to the degree of light reflection of the training image. Therefore, image preprocesisng and parameters for model optimization were configured before model application. In order to increase the image resolution of training and prediction results, it is necessary to modify the of the model so this part is designed to be tuned with parameters. In addition, in this paper, the logic that processes only the part where the prediction result is damaged by light reflection is configured together, and the pre-processing logic that does not distort the prediction result is also configured. Therefore, in order to improve the usability, the accuracy was improved through experiments on the part that applies the light reflection tuning filter to the training image of the Pix2Pix model and the parameter configuration.
In an attempt to find a satisfactory environmental factors which facilitate abundant conidial production of Piriculariaoryzae Cav. on tomato juice media, various environmental factors were studied for their effect on sporulation and mycelial growth of the fungus. Those factors were conditions of irradiation, color of light, age of culture and pH of the media. l) Continuous exposure to fluorescent light (Mitsubish FL-20-35 W) produced more conidia and much mycelial growth than did intermittent photoperiods and darkness. 2) Of 3 cellophane filters and direct exposure to fluorescent light used, conidia were produced best under the direct exposure to the light. Conidial production in color filter conditions sequently decreased with red, yellow and blue. Growth of mycelium was not significantly different within colors. 3) Periodic irradiation of 12-hour unit brought about zones on mycelial growth no matter what the color filter was used. 4) Older cultures responding to the light were more stimulated by light than were the younger one in the conidia production, but maximum production of conidia was 48 hours of age in this case. 5) Color of the mycelial mat and the aerial mycelium seemed to have a close relation to the production of conidia. The more darkness of the mycelial mat was produced the more conidia and the much aerial mycelium was produced the least conidia. The color of mycelium was more dark under the continuous irradiation than continuous darkness, while the periodic irradiation showed intermediate effect. 6) The concentration of hydrogen ion for growth and sporulation of the fungus was investigated the ranges between 5 and 9. The best pH for the fungus was also noted at 7. whereas the below of pH 4 was not occurred any mycelial growth and sporulation.
The author carried out an experiment to find out the response of gray rock cod, Sebastes inermis (Cuvier et Valenciennes) to the color light. The experimental tank ($360L{\times}50W{\times}55H\;cm$) was set up in a dark room. Six longitudinal sections with 60 cm intervals are marked in the tank to observe the location of the fish. Water depth in the tank was kept 50 cm level. Light bulbs of 20W at the both ends of the tank projected the light horizontally into the tank. Two different colored filters were selected from four colors of red, blue, yellow, and white, and they were placed in front of the light bulbs to make different colors of light. Light intensity were controlled by use of auxiliary filters intercepted between the bulb and the filter. The fishes were acclimatized in the dark for 50 minutes before they were employed in the experiment. Upon turning on the light, the number of fish in each section was counted 40 times in 30 second intervals, and the mean of the number of fish in each section was given as the gathering rate of the fish. The colors favourited by the fish was found in the order of white, blue, yellow and red. The gathering rate of fish on illumination period was small and comparatively fluctuated with stability. The difference of the gathering rates on two different colors of light was much greater, regardless of illumination period, in day time than in night time.

The minimization of maximum DPF wall temperature and the fast Light-off during regeneration are the targets for the high durability of the DPF system and the high efficiency of regeneration. In order to predict transient thermal response of DPF, one-channel numerical modeling has been adopted. The effect of the ratio of length to diameter(L/D), cell density, the amount of soot loading on temporal thermal response and regeneration characteristics has been numerically investigated under two different running conditions: city driving mode and high speed mode. The results indicate that the maximum wall temperature of DPF increase with increasing 'L/D' in 'High speed mode'. For 'City driving mode', the maximum wall temperature decreases with increasing 'L/D' in the range of $'L/D{\geq}0.6'$. The maximum temperature decreases with increasing cell density because heat conduction and heat capacity are increased. It is also found that the effect of amount of soot loading on light-off time is negligible.

Automatic vehicle detection is a very important function for autonomous vehicles. Conventional vehicle detection approaches are based on visible-light images obtained from cameras mounted on a vehicle in the daytime. However, unlike daytime, a visible-light image is generally dark at night, and the contrast is low, which makes it difficult to recognize a vehicle. As a feature point that can be used even in the low light conditions of nighttime, the rear lamp is virtually unique. However, conventional rear lamp-based detection methods seldom cope with atypical lamps, such as LED lamps, or flashing turn signals. In this paper, we detect atypical lamps by blurring the lamp area with a low pass filter (LPF) to make out the lamp shape. We also propose to detect flickering of the turn signal lamp in a manner such that the lamp area is vertically projected, and the maximum difference of two paired lamps is examined. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a higher F-measure value of 0.24 than the conventional lamp pairing-based detection methods, on average. In addition, the proposed algorithm shows a fast processing time of 6.4 ms per frame, which verifies real-time performance of the proposed algorithm.

In-use light duty diesel vehicles are considered as one of major sources of particulate emissions in many cities, and the start of the retrofit program for the light duty diesel vehicles is expected in near future in Korea. One of the problems of the retrofit of the light duty diesel vehicles is that the exhaust gas temperature is too low to apply passive regeneration DPF systems. This study introduces a catalytic combustor as a new active DPF regeneration technology. This study shows the principle and characteristics of DPF regeneration by the catalytic combustor and suggests it's proper control method for better regeneration.

This paper presents a noble operation and maintenance system for the optical subscriber loops and its feasibility through several experiments. In this system, a broadband CW (Continuous Wave) light source I used as monitoring of testing signals. and a FGF(Fiber Grating Filter) of which reflective wavelength is independent, is inserted somewhere in each subscriber loop for the reflection of monitoring of testing signals. The propose of the system is quick decision. whether the loop is just fault or not. rather than detailed information of loop state. At present, most of operation and maintenance system for the optical subscriber loops adopts OTDR(optical time domain reflectometer) for testing function. the OTDR is useful for detailed test, but not adequate for simple test because of long testing time . And it is difficult to test PON network by using general OTDR that has a single-wavelength light source. Compared to using OTDR, the proposed system can afford to shorten testing time and to test PON network. Moreover, we can cut down the system cost by simplifying circuits of the optical light sources. Our results show that the proposed system operates well according to the purpose mentioned above.

A Visual Light Communication(VLC) system is a concept of converging illumination with communication. Design of the VLC system aims mainly at minimizing flicker for the illumination and maximizing transmission distance for the communication. This paper proposes an effective detection scheme of the transmitted signal by attenuating noises which may be included in the signal, and then presents implementation results. Inserting designated low and high pass filters in first and second implementations, the receiver became to improve the perception rate of transmitted signals. This verified a relatively higher possibility of receiving data in a dim light, so that the communication distance can be expanded in the visual light communication system.
