Dynamic object recognition is an important task for autonomous vehicles. Since dynamic objects exhibit a higher collision risk than static objects, our own trajectories should be planned to match the future state of moving elements in the scene. Time information such as optical flow can be used to recognize movement. Existing optical flow calculations are based only on camera sensors and are prone to misunderstanding in low light conditions. In this regard, to improve recognition performance in low-light environments, we applied a normalization filter and a correction function for Gamma Value to the input images. The low light quality improvement algorithm can be applied to confirm the more accurate detection of Object's Bounding Box for the vehicle. It was confirmed that there is an important in object recognition through image prepocessing and deep learning using YOLO.

Hydrogen gas is light and diffuses very quickly. Therefore, when a leakage accident occurs, the damage is great, so a technology that can quickly measure the leakage in the air at a long distance is needed. In order to develop hydrogen gas leaked in the atmosphere in a non-contact manner, an experiment was performed to measure hydrogen gas using a lidar technology using the Raman effect. Hydrogen Raman signals were detected using a UV LED light source, which is a Raman light source, and a spectrometer in the ultraviolet region including an optical filter in the 400-430 nm band. To develop this, a Raman lidar optical structure was designed to measure the hydrogen Raman signal at a certain distance, and the hydrogen Raman spectrum was confirmed using a standard gas to evaluate the performance of this optical structure. The linearity was found to be 0.99 using hydrogen standard gas (10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 ppm). Accordingly, a Raman lidar capable of measuring hydrogen gas rapidly diffusing in the air in an open state was developed to improve the limitations of existing hydrogen sensors.
Reflected-Ultraviolet photography is applied to the evidence of crime, Archaeology, and Dermatology. In the past, Ultraviolet photography was done with standard black-and-white film. Because emulsion of film is more sensitive to near UV light than CCD(Charge Coupled Device) or CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor)of digital camera. In this research, we purpose to improve qulity of ultraviolet photographs and to find out the best alternative digital camera by utilizing a cunsumer digital camera. To achieve theses, we removed IR cutoff filter from digital camera. And by using modified UV pass filter, we verified the increase of image resolution of digital ultraviolet photographs. Also, we analyze reproducibility of digital ultraviolet photographs according to type, size, pixel of image sensor. Furthermore, this research resulted in the development of an practical digital camera system by utilizing a cunsumer digital camera. Eventually, it will contribute to practical use in the various field of digital ultraviolet photographs

This paper deals with a size-reduced Ku-band waveguide limiter. Basically, it passes the signal from 16.125 GHz through 16.375 GHz, but when excessively high power is injected to the input port, it should change to a bandstop filter. Furthermore, it is required to change to bring attenuation by more than 20 dB and 50 dB over a narrow band and the entire passband, respectively. Therefore, in order to meet this requirement, a limiting device is implemented with multiple PIN-diode posts that enable the limiter to be the bandpass filter and stopband one at the off and on states of the PIN-diode switch, respectively. So, the design goes through the equivalent circuit modelling and the geometry is realized in the accurate electromagnetic analysis CAD tool. Finally, the result is discussed to shed light on whether it complies with the aforementioned requirement.

In this study we propose an image denoising algorithm appropriate for mobile smart phone equipped with limited computing ability, which has better performance and at the same time comparable quality comparing with previous studies. The proposed image denoising algorithm for mobile smart phone cameras in low level light environment reduces computational complexity and also prevents edge smoothing by extracting just Gaussian noises from the noisy input image. According to the experiment result, we verified that our algorithm has much better PSNR value than methods applying mean filter or median filter. Also the result image from our algorithm has better clear quality since it preserves edges while smoothing input image. Moreover, the suggested algorithm reduces computational complexity about 52% compared to the method applying original Laplacian mask computation, and we verified that our algorithm has good denoising quality by implementing the algorithm in Android smart phone.

This paper presents a single image haze removal method via a pixel-based joint BDCP (bright and dark channel prior) and a hierarchical bilateral filter in order to reduce computational complexity and memory requirement while improving the dehazing performance. Pixel-based joint BDCP reduces the computational complexity compared to the patch-based DCP, while making it possible to estimate the atmospheric light in pixel unit and the transmission more accurately. Moreover the bilateral filter, which can smooth an image effectively while preserving edges, refines the transmission to reduce the halo effects, and its hierarchical structure applied to edges only prevents the increase of complexity from the iterative application. Experimental results on various hazy images show that the proposed method exhibits excellent haze removal performance with low computational complexity compared to the conventional methods, and thus it can be applied in various fields.
We propose a hyperbolic metastructure based on a nanopatterned metal (Ag)-dielectric (PDMS) multilayer and report on its performance in an infrared (IR) cut-off filter for imaging devices. By optimizing the size of the square-shaped Ag nanopattern and the thickness of PDMS surrounding the Ag nanopattern, the proposed IR cut-off filter blocks 99% of light in the 0.70-1.01 ㎛ wavelength band while maintaining a high transmittance of over 94% in the visible region. Here, the cut-off wavelength band starts at a region above the epsilon-near-zero wavelength of the hyperbolic metastructure and ends at the point where plasmonic absorption appears strongly. It is observed that transmittance in the wavelength region longer than the IR cut-off band increases again due to plasmonic coupling among horizontally adjacent Ag nanopatterns. This metastructure can improve the performance of IR-blocking filters as well as allow it to be manufactured ultra-thin, which is applicable to various planar optical elements and integrated optical components.
In this study, a miniature fiber-optic radiation sensor has been developed using a water-equivalent organic scintillator for electron beam therapy dosimetry. The intensity of Cerenkov light is measured and characterized as a function of the incident angle of the electron beam from a LINAC. Also, a subtraction method using a background optical fiber without a scintillator and an optical discrimination method using optical filters are investigated to remove Cerenkov light, which could cause problems or limit the accuracy for detecting a fluorescent light signal in a fiber-optic radiation sensor.
Exposure to UV light, i.e., UV-A (320-400 nm) or UV-B (290-320 nm) radiation, can cause skin cancer. Titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) effectively disperses UV light. Therefore, it is used as a physical UV filter in many UV light blockers. Usually, the $TiO_2$ content in commercialized UV blockers is 25 % at most. To block UV-B, a chemical UV blocker, octyl-methoxy cinnamate (OMC) is used. OMC is commonly used in combination with $TiO_2$. In this study, $TiO_2$ and OMC were mixed in different proportions to produce UV blockers with different compositions. Also the changes in the sun protection factor (SPF) based on the composition and $TiO_2$ particle sizes were investigated. In order to analyze the $TiO_2$ particle size, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AsFlFFF) were used. The results showed that the SPF was influenced by the proportion of $TiO_2$ and OMC, where the proportion of $TiO_2$ induced a more significant influence. In addition, changes in the $TiO_2$ particle size based on the proportion of OMC were observed.
Optical properties were studied in the Northwest Pacific near Kamchatka Peninsula based on ten oceanographic stations from September 20 to 24, 1976. Submarine light intensity was measured by usins a submarine illuminometer (RIGO, Type: 2501-A) ; equipped with a red filter (RIGO, Type: V-R-60, wave length: 600-620 nm). Light intensity in the upper 40 m depth layer was measured at 1 m depth intervals. The absorption coefficient for red color in the area ranged from 0. 178 to 0.376 (mean 0.278) : the Secchidisc depth in the area ranged from 9 to 12 meters (mean 10.6 meters). The relationship between absorption coefficient (m) and transparency depth (D) was m=5.347/D. The rates of light penetration for red color at three different depths are computed with reference to the surface light intensity. The mean rates of light penetration were $16.36\%\;(6.45\~23.5\%),\;3.65\%\;(1.38\~7.31\%)\;and\;0.276\%(0.048\~0.647\%) $ at the depths of s m, 10 m, and 20 m, respectively.
