Cu 3d 와 4p 궤도함수의 혼성과 리간드의 Spin-Orbit Coupling 이 Tetragonally 일그러진 $CuCl_4^{2-}$ 착물의 Zero-Field Splitting에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Ligand's Spin-Orbit Coupling and the Intermixing of │3d 〉 and │4p 〉 Cu Atomic Orbitals on Zero-Field Splitting in the Tetragonally Distorted Tetrahedral $CuCl_4^{2-}\;Complex^\ast$)

  • $D_{2d}$ 점군에 속하는 강결정장의 tetragonally 일그러진 사면체 3$d^9$전자계 착물의 바닥상태에 대한 리간드 궤도함수의 spin-orbit coupling과 중심 금속의 3d와 4p궤도함수의 intermixing이 미치는 영향에 대하여 중첩 섭동론을 사용하여 연구하였다. 단결정 $Cs_2CuCl_4$의 tetragonally 일그러진 $CuCl_4^{2-}$에 대한 d-d전이의 실험값을 사용한 LCAO-MO분석은 구리이온과 리간드 사이의 공유결합성은 Cu 4p orbital의 기여가 증가하므로서 급격히 감소하고 리간드 Cl 3p궤도함수의 spin-orbit coupling 상호작용에 의한 바닥상태의 에너지 준위 분리에 대한 효과는 $\Gamma_7(E)\;\to\;\Gamma_6(E)\; >\;\Gamma_7(B_2)\;\to\;\Gamma_6(E)\; >\;\Gamma_7(B_2)\;\to\;\Gamma_7(E)$의 순서로 감소하였다.

InP Quantum Dot-Organosilicon Nanocomposites

  • InP quantum dot (QD)-organosilicon nanocomposites were synthesized and their photoluminescence quenching was mainly investigated because of their applicability to white LEDs (light emitting diodes). The as-synthesized InP QDs are capped with myristic acid (MA), which are incompatible with typical silicone encapsulants. We have introduced a new ligand, 3-aminopropyldimethylsilane (APDMS), which enables embedding the QDs into vinyl-functionalized silicones through direct chemical bonding. The exchange of ligand from MA to APDMS does not significantly affect the UV absorbance of the InP QDs, but quenches the PL to about 10% of its original value with the relative increase in surface related emission intensities, which is explained by stronger coordination of the APDMS ligands to the surface indium atoms. InP QD-organosilicon nanocomposites were synthesized by connecting the QDs using a short cross-linker such as 1,4-divinyltetramethylsilylethane (DVMSE) by the hydrosilylation reaction. The formation and changes in the optical properties of the InP QD-organosilicon nanocomposite were monitored by ultraviolet visible (UV-vis) absorbance and steady state photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies. As the hydrosilylation reaction proceeds, the QD-organosilicon nanocomposite is formed and grows in size, causing an increase in the UV-vis absorbance due to the scattering effect. At the same time, the PL spectrum is red-shifted and, very interestingly, the PL is quenched gradually. Three PL quenching mechanisms are regarded as strong candidates for the PL quenching of the QD nanocomposites, namely the scattering effect, F$\ddot{o}$rster resonance energy transfer (FRET) and cross-linker tension preventing the QD's surface relaxation.

균일계 전이금속 촉매를 이용한 니트로벤젠의 카르보닐화 반응 연구: N,N'-디페닐우레아 합성 (Transition Metal Catalyzed Carbonylation of Nitrobenzene for the Synthesis of N,N'-diphenylurea)

  • 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 균일계 전이 금속 촉매를 사용하여 니트로벤젠을 아닐린 및 일산화탄소와 반응시켜 N,N'-디페닐우레아(DPU)를 생성하는 반응에 있어서 촉매와 리간드 및 promrter가 반응에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 촉매로서는 Pd, Ni, Pt, Ru, Rh, 그리고 Fe 화합물을 이용하였고 리간드로서는 monodentate 리간드인 $PPh_3$와 bidentate 리간드인 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)proane(dppp)를 사용하여 효과를 비교하였다. Promoter로서는 $Et_4NCl$을 사용하였다. Pd 및 Ni 촉매는 니트로벤젠, 아닐린, 그리고 일산화탄소로부터의 DPU 합성에 매우 효과적이었고 상대적으로 온화한 조건에서도 거의 정량적인 수율로 DPU를 합성할 수 있었다. 이 경우 바이덴테이트 리간드인 dppp는 모노덴테이트 리간드인 $PPh_3$에 비하여 반응 속도가 훨씬 빠르고 니트로벤젠에 대한 아닐린의 소모량이 훨씬 적었는데 이는 리간드인 cis coordination에 기인하는 것으로 추정된다. $PPh_3$ 리간드인 경우에는 $Et_4NCl$ 조촉매의 사용이 필수적인데 비하여 dppp인 경우에는 오히려 조촉매가 반응 속도를 저해하였다. Pd-dppp 촉매계는 촉매의 재사용이 가능하나 촉매가 서서히 비활성화 됨을 알 수 있었다.

Tumor Necrosis Factor-Related Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand Activates Pro-Survival Signaling Pathways, Nuclear Factor-${\kappa}B$ and Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase 1/2 in Trophoblast Cell Line, JEG-3

  • Tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a well-known inducer of apoptotic cell death in many tumor cells. 1RAIL is expressed in human placenta, and cytotrophoblast cells express 1RAIL receptors. However, the role of TRAIL in human placentas and cytotrophoblast cells is not. well understood. In this study a trophoblast cell line, JEG-3, was used as a model system to examine the effect of TRAIL. on key intracellular signaling pathways involved in the control of trophoblastic cell apoptosis and survival JEG-3 cells expressed receptors for 1RAIL, death receptor (DR) 4, DR5, decoy receptor (OcR) 1 and DeR2. Recombinant human TRAIL (rhTRAIL) did not have a cytotoxic effect determined by MIT assay and did not induce apoptotic cell death determined by poly-(ADP-ribose) polymerase cleavage assay. rhTRAIL induced a rapid and transient nuclear translocation of nuclear $factor-{\kappa}B(NF-{\kappa}B)$ determined by immunoblotting using nuclear protein extracts. rhTRAIL rapidly activated extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase (ERK) 1/2 as determined by immnoblotting for phospho-ERK1/2. However, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) and Akt (protein kinase B) were not activated by rhTRAIL. The ability of 1RAIL to induce $NF-{\kappa}B$ and ERK1/2 suggests that interaction between TRAIL and its receptors may play an important role in trophoblast cell function during pregnancy.

Gadolinium-benzoate 착물의 열역학적, 적외선 및 자기적 성질에 관한 연구 (Thermodynamic, Infrared, and Magnetic Studies on the Complexation of Gd(III) by Benzoate Anion)

  • 수용액내에서 gadolinium-벤조산 착물형성 반응의 열역학적 함수값들을 이온상수 0.1M $NaClO_4$, $25^{\circ}C$ 조건하에서 구하였다. gadolinium-벤조산 착물의 안정도는 여분의 엔트로피 효과에 기인하는 것으로 판단되며, 벤조산 리간드의 경우 한 자리 리간드에 비해 높은 안정도 상수값을 나타내었다. 이러한 높은 안정도는 리간드내의 벤젠고리의 공액효과로 예측되었다. 합성된 Ga$(ben)_3$의 고체 IR스펙트럼 결과, 벤조산 리간드가 두 자리 리간드로 작용하여 킬레이트를 형성하였으며, 80${\sim}$300K 온도 범위에서의 자화율 데이터는 Curie-Weiss 법칙에 잘 적용됨을 알 수 있었다.

The Characteristic Self-assembly of Gold Nanoparticles over Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) Substrate

  • Ordered array of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) over ITO glass was investigated in terms of ITO pretreatment, particle size, and diamines with different chain length. Owing to the indium-tin-oxide (ITO) layer coated on the glass, the substrate surface has a limited number of hydroxyl groups which can produce functionalized amine groups for Au binding, which resulted in the loosely-packed array of Au NPs on the ITO surface. Diamine ligand as a molecular linker was introduced to enhance the lateral binding of adjacent Au NPs immobilized on the amine-functionalized ITO glass, consequently leading to the densely-packed array of Au NPs over the ITO substrate. The molecular bridging effect was strengthened with the increase of chain length of diamines: C-12 > C-8. The packing density of small Au NPs (< 40 nm) was significantly increased with the increase of C-8 diamine, but large Au NPs (> 60 nm) did not produce densely-packed array on the ITO glass even for the dosage of C-12 diamine.

  • This study describes a selective Ag etching solution for use with pattern on the surface of copper. This etching solution uses potassium iodide and potassium sulfate as the ligand that coordinates to the metal ions and ferricyanide as the oxidant. The etching rate was depended on the concentration of co-ligands and time. But the etching rate wasn't depended on the pH(2∼6), and oxidant(K$_3$Fe(CN)$\_$6/). Complete etching of silver can be achieved rapidly within 90sec for 4.46${\mu}$m thick metal films when aqueous solutions containing K$_3$Fe(CN)$\_$6/, K$_2$S$_2$O$\_$8/ and KI was used. This etching solution was characteristic of anisotropic etching.
