In recent years, the subject of remaining life assessment has drawn considerable attention in the power generation industry. In power generation systems a variety of structural components, such as steam pipes, turbine rotors, and superheater headers, typically operate at high temperatures and high pressures. Thus a life prediction methodology accounting for fracture and rupture is increasingly needed for these components. For accurate failure assessment, in addition to the single parameter such as K or J-integral used in traditional fracture mechanics, the second parameter like T-stress describing the constraint is needed. The most critical defects in such structures are generally found in the form of semi-elliptical surface cracks in the welded piping-joints. In this work, selecting the structures of surface-cracked plate and straight pipe, we first perform line-spring finite element modeling, and accompanying elastic-plastic finite element analyses. We then present a framework for including constraint effects (T-stress effects) in the R6 failure assessment diagram approach for fracture assessment.

Porcelain insulators have been used mainly for power line fixing and electrical insulation in transmission towers. Porcelain insulators have generally a 30 years desired life, but over 50% exceed their life expectancy. Since the damage to porcelain insulators is usually accompanied by enormous loss of human resource material, their efficient maintenance has emerged as an important issue. In this regard, this study applied a frequency response function (FRF) for integrity assessment of the insulator. The characteristics of the FRF according to damage types were identified and analyzed by the change in natural frequencies, curve shape, attenuation, and Nyquist diagram stability. The results showed significant differences in the FRF according to damage types, which can be used as basic data for the effective integrity assessment of porcelain insulators.

For this study, SM45C steel rods using generally for power transmission shafts and machine components was selected and welded by butt-GMAW method. And then it was studied about estimation of fatigue strength and the region of infinite life by Haigh diagram using Goodman's equation. Fatigue strength in weld zone presents highly in order of the boundary between deposited metal zone and heat affected zone, deposited metal zone, heat affected zone. This result agrees with distribution of hardness in weld zone. Fatigue strength in base metal zone presents highly compared with weld zone in low cycles between $10^4$ cycles and $10^6$cycles, but it presents the lowest fatigue strength on the order of heat affected zone in the vicinity of $10^6$cycles. It is the result that the first high compressive residual stress distributed by drawing process of the steel rods is released and the base metal is softened by alternating stresses. The region of infinite life by Haigh diagram presents highly in order of the boundary between deposited metal zone and heat affected zone, deposited metal zone, heat affected zone. From this results, it is demanded that the stress for safety design of machine components using SM45C butt-welded steel rods must be selected in the region of the lowest infinite life of heat affected zone.

According to our fatigue tests carried out at 20 Hz, R=0.1 on transversely butt-welded joints, fatigue strengths of as-welded specimens, that is, specimens having residual stress are higher than those of annealed specimens in short life range, but vice verse in long life range. This behavior seems to be concerned mainly with residual stress relaxation by applied loading. After analyzing the welding process, we conducted finite element analysis to quantify the degree of residual stress relaxation. By taking into account residual stress relaxation, modified Goodman diagram, and nominal stress, we evaluated the fatigue life of the welded joint from the S-N curve for the parent material. The estimated results are in a good agreement with the experimental results.
The purpose of this research is to classify fashion consumers based on their attitudes, goals and values of life. It is to understand what drives human behaviors as well as to learn the various directions people live in society using Bangkok people as the samples. Online and on-site questionnaire survey is employed. Questions are designed to focus on 7 aspects of life, ranging from private life, professional life, social life, politics, culture and information interaction, household business and finance, and consumption of products and services in the main market. The research results can be used to classify consumers' lifestyles into 20 major and numerous minor groups of lifestyle. Lifestyles of male and female samples are compared to investigate their different patterns and directions. Fashion trend diagram is used to analyze the overlapped lifestyles of mass consumers. The lifestyle segmentations would benefit to designer and fashion branding team in understanding their target group deeper inside the background of their behaviors.

The cold forging process induces material deformation in an enclosed space, generating a very high forging load. Therefore, it is mainly designed as a multi-stage process, and fatigue failure occurs in forging die due to cyclic load. Studies have been conducted previously to quantitatively predict the fatigue limit of cold forging dies, however, there was a limit to field application due to the large error range and the need for expert intervention. To solve this problem, we conducted a study on the introduction of a real-time forging load measurement technology and an automated system for quantitative prediction of die life cycle. As a result, it was possible to reduce the error range of the quantitative prediction of die life cycle to within ±7%, and it became possible to use the die life cycle calculation algorithm into an automated system.

In conventional analysis methods, data and process are loosely coupled for building information systems. Several object oriented approaches have been proposed to integrate data and process. However, object oriented analysis requires a radical paradigm and thus system analysts find difficulties in generating object models direcctly from end users. To alleviate these difficulties, this paper proposes a methodology for deriving an object model by using structured analysis results. Objects are obtianed primarily from entities in Entity-Relationship Diagram. Methods are obtained through the analysis of the relationship between processes and data stores in Data Flow Diagram Methods are assigned to the objects by using object/process matrices. A real-life case is illustrated to demonstrate the usefulness of the methodology.

LCC (Life-Cycle Cost) analysis is a practical method and a guideline for evalua-ting the economic performance of building service systems. By using the LCC analysis, the most cost-effective design decision can be made, which has the lowest LCC during the project study period among the various design alternatives. The present case shows an example of appro-priate use of the LCC analysis, by demonstrating the procedures of decision making among at-tarnative building HVAC systems at community center and congress hall of a local government.

ABLB(Alternate Binaural Loudness Balance) test is one of the medical assessments to diagnose detailed lesion of sensory-neural hearing loss based on a recruitment phenomenon. This paper describes an Auto ABLB test software. This software automatically decides test frequency and intensity of first test tone. And it supports an automatic algorithm that analyses the subject's reponses in the current step and then decides intensity of tone provided in next step. Also, this software supports an interface to control and monitor subject's ABLB test. The assessment result is represented by a ladder diagram. The output of this software has been verified using a digital oscilloscope.
