Regional assessment of crop productivity using a gridded simulation approach could aid policy making and crop management. Still, little effort has been made to develop the systems that allows gridded simulations of crop growth using ORYZA 2000 model, which has been used for predicting rice yield in Korea. The objectives of this study were to develop a series of data processing modules for creating input data files, running the crop model, and aggregating output files in a region of interest using gridded data files. These modules were implemented using C++ and R to make the best use of the features provided by these programming languages. In a case study, 13000 input files in a plain text format were prepared using daily gridded weather data that had spatial resolution of 1km and 12.5 km for the period of 2001-2010. Using the text files as inputs to ORYZA2000 model, crop yield simulations were performed for each grid cell using a scenario of crop management practices. After output files were created for grid cells that represent a paddy rice field in South Korea, each output file was aggregated into an output file in the netCDF format. It was found that the spatial pattern of crop yield was relatively similar to actual distribution of yields in Korea, although there were biases of crop yield depending on regions. It seemed that those differences resulted from uncertainties incurred in input data, e.g., transplanting date, cultivar in an area, as well as weather data. Our results indicated that a set of tools developed in this study would be useful for gridded simulation of different crop models. In the further study, it would be worthwhile to take into account compatibility to a modeling interface library for integrated simulation of an agricultural ecosystem.

Software reliability in the software development process is an important issue. In infinite failure NHPP software reliability models, the fault occurrence rates may have constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing pattern. In this paper, infinite failures NHPP models that the situation was reflected for the fault occurs in the repair time, were presented about comparing property. Commonly, the software model of the infinite failures using the linear hazard rate distribution software reliability based on intercept parameter was used in business economics and actuarial modeling, was presented for comparison problem. The result is that a relatively large intercept parameter was appeared effectively form. The parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation was conducted and model selection was performed using the mean square error and the coefficient of determination. The linear hazard rate distribution model is also efficient in terms of reliability because it (the coefficient of determination is 90% or more) in the field of the conventional model can be used as an alternative model could be confirmed. From this paper, the software developers have to consider intercept parameter of life distribution by prior knowledge of the software to identify failure modes which can be able to help.

After city of Busan has been entered to the aging society in 2000, the city has the highest aging rate among 7 representative cities in 2011. Moreover, while entire population and number of average household are decreasing, over 65 years old of elderly population is rapidly increasing. So, it is possible to enter the super-aged society, where aging rate would be about 20% after 2020. The purpose of this study is that older housing-related analysis is consisted of dong-unit, and this led microscopic analysis has become necessary. Surveys from 2000 through 2010, census aggregate (output area) unit of spatial analysis was conducted. Take advantages of this, aging population and area, soaring area, high-density areas, such as the region of interest were primary extracted, and microscopic location and spatial distribution patterns were analyzed. Upon analysis, aging population is concentrated in the city and adjacent area, the highlands, and 10 years of increasing rate was more than 30 times in certain aggregate. Regarding the characteristic of these areas, the original city center, Busan, especially concentrated and intensified in aging population. Also, 2000 to 2010, the overall distribution pattern of Busan has identified aging population that is increasingly being distributed. This is the result, which is confronted with previous research result. Entering a super aged-society for the future is accordance with migration of social costs and improve the quality of life of elderly. And this could be the basic information to use the spatial dimension for the corresponding.

Recently, the surface electronic states have attracted much attention since their standing wave patterns created around steps, defects, and adsorbates on noble metal surfaces such as Au(111), Ag(110), and Cu(111) were observed by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). As a typical example, a striking circular pattern of "Quantum corral" observed by Crommie, Lutz, and Eigler, covers a number of text books of quantum mechanics, demonstrating a wavy nature of electrons. After the discoveries, similar standing waves patterns have been observed on other metal and demiconductor surfaces and even on a side polane of nano-tubes. With an expectation that the surface states could be utilized as one of ideal cases for studying two dimensionakl (sD) electronic system, various properties, such as mean free path / life time of the electronic states, have been characterized based on an analysis of standing wave patterns, . for the 2D electron system, electron density is one of the most importnat parameters which determines the properties on it. One advantage of conventional 2D electron system, such as the ones realized at AlGaAs/GaAs and SiO2/Si interfaces, is their controllability of the electrondensity. It can be changed and controlled by a factor of orders through an application of voltage on the gate electrode. On the other hand, changing the leectron density of the surface-state 2D electron system is not simple. On ewqy to change the electron density of the surface-state 2D electron system is not simple. One way to change the electron density is to deposit other elements on the system. it has been known that Pd(111) surface has unoccupied surface states whose energy level is just above Fermi level. Recently, we found that by depositing Pd on Cu(111) surface, occupied surface states of Cu(111) is lifted up, crossing at Fermi level around 2ML, and approaches to the intrinsic Pd surface states with a increase in thickness. Electron density occupied in the states is thus gradually reduced by Pd deposition. Park et al. also observed a change in Fermi wave number of the surface states of Cu(111) by deposition of Xe layer on it, which suggests another possible way of changing electron density. In this talk, after a brief review of recent progress in a study of standing weaves by STM, I will discuss about how the electron density can be changed and controlled and feasibility of using the surface states for a study of 2D electron system. One of the most important advantage of the surface-state 2D electron system is that one can directly and easily access to the system with a high spatial resolution by STM/AFM.y STM/AFM.
Nowadays, recognizing human activities is an important subject; it is exploited widely and applied to many fields in real-life, especially in health care and context aware application. Research achievements are mainly focused on activities of daily living which are useful for suggesting advises to health care applications. Falling event is one of the biggest risks to the health and well-being of the elderly especially in independent living because falling accidents may be caused from heart attack. Recognizing this activity still remains in difficult research area. Many systems equipped wearable sensors have been proposed but they are not useful if users forget to wear the clothes or lack ability to adapt themselves to mobile systems without specific wearable sensors. In this paper, we develop a novel method based on analyzing the change of acceleration, orientation when the fall occurs and measure their similarity to featured fall patterns. In this study, we recruit five volunteers in our experiment including various fall categories. The results are effective for recognizing fall activity. Our system is implemented on G1 smart phone which are already plugged accelerometer and orientation sensors. The popular phone is used to get data from accelerometer and results showthe feasibility of our method and significant contribution to fall detection.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of the addition level (0 ppm, 400 ppm, 800 ppm, and 1,200 ppm) of green tea extract on the lactic acid bacteria, oxidative stability, and aroma in kimchi-fermented sausage. The sample sausages were fermented at $24^{\circ}C/RH$ 89% until attained to a pH value of 4.9 (for 17 h), and then dried at $10^{\circ}C/RH$ 75-80% for 6 d. The lactic acid bacteria count and pH value were 7.5-7.7 Log CFU/g sausage and 4.30-4.33, respectively, at 6 d of ripening. The results of those did not show significant differences among all treatments. The formation of TBARS (2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances) was significantly lowered by increasing the addition level of green tea extract. During ripening periods, the CIE $L^*$ and $a^*$ values decreased; however, the $b^*$ value increased due to the addition of green tea extract. Utilizing an electric nose, the aroma pattern was clearly discriminated between green tea extract treatments and the control. Therefore, in kimchi-fermented sausages, the high addition level of green tea extract improved the lipid oxidation stability. In addition, regardless of the addition level, green tea extract changed the aroma while reducing the color stability. Moreover, it did not have any effect on the growth of lactic acid bacteria.

The effective components of the peony cultivar, Euseongjagyag and Youngcheonjagyag, which were the major cultivars of peony in Kyeongbuk area, were determined with HPLC and TLC. The paeoniflorin content in the root of Euseongjagyag were more than that of Youngcheonjagyag. The root of Euseongjagyag contained much albiflorin and Youngcheonjagyag contained much oxypaeoniflorin in comparision with albiflorin and oxypaeoniflorin contents in both cultivars of peony. Paeoniflorin contents in accordance with peony prodution regions were ranged from 2.15% to 4.08%, and paeoniflorin content of local cultivar of Euseong and that of Geochang were approximatly the same but that of Youngcheon was the lowest. Paeoniflorin content in the 18 accessions of peony cultivar which were collected from Kyeongbuk area and harvested on November 1993, were ranged from 1.41% to 5.30%. The 18 accessions of peony were classified with the HPLC chromatogram pattern of peony root extract into the three groups which composed with Euseong peony group(9 accessions), Youngcheon peony group (4 accessions) and Punggi standard peony group(5 accessions). High content of paeoniflorin WaS contained in peony root harvested in May and November. but low content of paeoniflorin was contained in peony root harvested in March and September.
S. chibaensis J-59 produced an extracellular xylanase in a CSL medium composed of 1.5% com steep liquor, 0.1% $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, 0.012% $CoCl_2{\cdot}6H_2O$, and 0.15% glucose containing xylan. but it did not produce in the culture medium containing xylose. The production of enzyme reached to a maximum level (0.83 uints/ml) when bacteria were cultured in 2.5 l jar fermentor for 48hrs at $30^{\circ}C$ and pH 7.0. Furthermore, S. chibaensis J-59 produced an intracellular glucose isomerase in a medium containing xylan and/or xylose. Xylanase was purified 29-fold over the culture supernatants of S. chibaensis J-59 by ammonium sulfate fractionation, chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex A-50, and gel filtration on Sephadex G-200. The purified enzyme is a monomeric enzyme with a native molecular mass of 25 kDa and a subunit molecular mass of 25 kDa. The purified enzyme requires $Mg^{2+}$ for activity, $Ca^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$ is not an inhibitor but inhibit by $Fe^{3+}$, $Hg^{2+}$, and $Cu^{2+}$, sodium dodecyl sulfate, N-bromosuccinide. Pattern of hydrolysis demonstrated that the xylanase was an endo-splitting enzyme able to break down birchwood xylan at random giving xylobiose, xylotriose and xylotetrose as the main end products.

This study was conducted to reveal the relationship between physiological characteristics and growth by family for open-pollinated progeny stand of Korean white pine in Gapyung site. Average growth performance of total 25 families for 18 years old progeny stand in this study site showed 5.9m in mean height, 8.9cm in mean DBH, $12.0m^2$ in basal area per hectare and $46.5m^3$ in volume per hectare, respectively. By the analysis result of growth performance for all 25 families, family No. 20 showed the most excellent growth and middle in family No. 10. On the other hand, family No. 3 represented the worst growth among the 25 families. The change of seasonal photosynthesis rate by increasing luminous intensity was the same tendency as the growth pattern of all 25 families and showed the same results in all four seasons. In the seasonal analysis, the photosynthesis rate was increased as the season has changed from winter to summer. Chlorophyll contents was also increased from winter to summer. Especially, family No. 20 which is the best in growth performance has more chlorophyll contents than the others. In addition, family No. 20 was also better than other families in the weight of assimilation tissue(g), length of needle(cm), width of needle(cm), and number of Stoma. However, in water utilization rate, family No. 3 which is the worst in the growth performance showed the best result that is reverse tendency compared with the photosynthesis rate. The changes of water utilization rate represented to be increased as the season has changed from winter to summer.
This study was performed to investigate about sleep quality and orofacial pain pattern between experimental and control group. 101 subjects with temporomandibular disorders without any psychologic and neurologic problem were selected from the patients presented to Wonkwang University dental hospital. Routine clinical examination for TMD was carried out, especially for the frequency of headache and the craniocervical muscles were also done by the author in the first visit. All the subjects filled out the questionnaires, that was, for the evaluation of sleep quality using Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI), and for the analysis of behavioral pain scale questionnaires. Data obtained were statistically processed by the SPSS Windows program and the results of this study were as follows: 1. Subjective sleep index, sleep latency, sleep disturbance, global score in control group were significantly lower than 2. Subjective sleep index, sleep disturbance, global score in subject with headache were significantly lower than subject without headache(P<0.05). 3. Medicine taker have sleeping drug. Caffeine drinkers was significantly higher in daytime dysfunction, global score than no drinker. 4. It have more frequent head and neck pain, pain spreading, daily life difficult in poor sleeper than good sleeper.
