Free learning semester aims to foster key competencies in junior high students via reinforcing student participation and career education. This paper investigates the programs of school and public libraries, as well as the roles that university libraries and LIS could play in the changing educational environment. School libraries, though an essential element in the educational infrastructure, are seriously underused. In addition, the support programs of public libraries tend to focus on guest lectures or field trips, rather than reinforcing the students to experience the foundational library services. Public libraries are in a good position to play an active role in strengthening school libraries. They should take a proactive role in forming a partnership with university libraries, LIS faculty and students, and in developing diverse programs ranging from vocational/career education to enhancing key competencies.

This study analyzed cases of collaborative classes between a teacher librarian and Chinese language teacher by applying problem-based learning (PBL) and intended to propose a desirable direction for class in operating collaborative classes of PBL. In order to achieve this purpose, methods to raise problems by BPL at the library of S High School, class content by each round of class, and cases of students' achievements were presented. In addition, statistical analysis of interest in subjects on 101 students in their sophomore year who had participated in PBL class was conducted. According to the study result, students' learning-related desire to accomplish, executive ability of learning, and interest were significantly improved.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the flow of domestic information literacy education research using keyword network analysis and topic modeling and to explore the direction of information literacy education in the future. For this reason, 306 academic papers related to information literacy education published in academic journals of the library and information science field in Korea were chosen. And through the preprocessing process for abstracts of the paper, total keyword appearance frequency, keyword appearance frequency by period, and keyword simultaneous occurrence frequency were analyzed. Subsequently, keyword network analysis analyzed the degree centrality, between centrality, and eigenvector centrality of keywords. Using structural topic modeling analysis, 15 topics -curriculum, information literacy effect, contents of information literacy education, school library education, information media literacy, information literacy ability evaluation index, library anxiety, public library program, health information literacy ability, digital divide, library assisted instruction improvement, research trend, information literacy model, and teacher role-were derived. In addition, the trend of topics by year was analyzed to confirm the change in relative weight by topic. Based on these results, the direction of information literacy education and the suggestions for follow-up research were presented.
