최근 다양한 방법들이 공공도서관 가치 측정에 적용되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 공공도서관 가치 측정 방법을 소비자 잉여와 조건부 가치측정법을 중심으로 분석하였다. 또한 이를 이용해 공공도서관이 개인에게 미치는 직접적인 경제적 가치를 측정하였다. 84%의 이용자들은 공공도서관이 개인의 생활에 영향을 미치고 있다고 하였으며 한 사람이 도서관 이용을 위해 월 8,270원의 금액을 지불할 의향을 보였다. 도서 대출을 위해서는 1권에 1,470원의 금액을 지불할 의사를 나타냈다. 이를 토대로 추정된 전체 도서관에 대한 경제적 가치는 1/3배, 도서 대출에 대한 개별 서비스의 경제적 가치는 3배로 분석되어 측정 대상에 따라 큰 차이를 나타냈다.

본 연구는 이용자 교육을 받아 본적이 없는 학부 신입생들의 대학도서관 사이트에 관한 인식을 조사, 분석하였다. 연구는 한성대학교 학부 신입생들을 대상으로 하였는데, 자료수집과정에서 식별된 인식은 도서관 홈페이지의 부분별 기능에 대한 연구대상자들의 불확실성, 어려움, 혼란 의문점 등을 보여주고 있다. 연구결과는 도서관 사이트 이용과 관련, 신입생들의 부족한 관련지식 및 탐색기술과 더불어, 시스템 상의 미흡한 점을 보여준다. 이러한 발견 점을 토대로 이용자 교육 및 시스템 인터페이스 등의 개선을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

이 연구는 의학도서관 이용자의 대출기록을 이용하여 자료이용행태를 분석하고 이를 통해 이용자를 위한 효율적인 장서구성과 도서관서비스 개선에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 A 의학도서관에서 2012년부터 2014년까지 최근 3년간 발생한 대출기록 90,420건의 신분별/주제별 대출 통계와 상위 대출빈도 도서, 상호대차 서비스 이용 데이터를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 학부생과 대학원생, 교수직, 수련직, 일반직을 포함한 병원 직원을 대상으로 하였다. 그 결과, 의학도서관 이용자들은 기술과학 분야의 자료와 문학자료, 사회과학 분야 자료를 집중적으로 대출하였다. 특히 장서구성대비 문학자료에 대한 요구가 상대적으로 다른 주제 영역에 비해 높았다.

지식정보사회는 물론 문화사회의 진전에 따른 사회 환경 변화에 따라 지역사회 평생교육의 필요성과 지역주민의 문화적 욕구의 증가로 도서관을 이용하는 사람들이 날로 증가되고 있다. 또한 이용자들의 도서관서비스에 대한 요구도 복잡 다양화되고 있으며 이용자들의 서비스에 대한 기대 수준도 더욱 높아지고 있는 추세이다. 공공도서관에서는 지역사회 구성원의 정보이용, 문화활동, 평생교육의 증진이라는 세 가지 목표를 실천하는 공공기관으로 모든 정책과 서비스를 마땅히 이용자 중심으로 수행되어져야 함으로 공공도서관에서도 고객지향적 행정서비스를 위해 도서관이용서비스헌장을 제정하여 운영하고 있으나, 보다 구체적인 서비스이행은 미흡하다. 이에 도서관서비스에 대한 이용자 만족도를 제고하고, 친절하고 품위 있는 공공서비스 문화의 선진화를 촉진하기 위하여 공공기관으로서 공공도서관에서 마땅히 서비스해야할 헌장과 공공시설 이용자들이 마땅히 지켜주어야 할 사항인 도서관 이용규정을 개발하였다.

도서관 2.0 개념은 웹상에서 상호작용하는 웹 2.0의 개념에서 비롯되었다. 이런 측면에서 볼 때, 도서관 2.0은 웹2.0의 조합이고 가장 주목할만한 특징은 상호작용과 이용자 참여라 할 수 있다. 변화된 도서관 환경에서의 이용자 역할의 비중은 도서관 소장자료에 대한 그들의 태깅, 블로깅, 서평 등과 같은 기여로 점점 더 커져왔다. 이렇듯 이용자의 역할이 변화하면서 도서관 사서들의 책임 또한 이용자들이 만들어낸 정제되지 않은 정보원의 점검자 역할에까지 이르게 되었으며, 결국 정보의 생산자, 조직가, 제공자, 관리자 뿐만 아니라 조정자의 역할로 확장되게 된다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 도서관의 새로운 패러다임으로 인식되는 도서관 2.0과 그 발전에 대한 최근의 연구들을 살펴보고 도서관 2.0 측면에서의 사서의 확대된 역할로서 사서 2.0에 대해 논하였다.

Originally the concept of the traditional resource sharing has been discussed in the context of bibliographic materials, and has been labor-intensive and high-cost activities. The technology has had a great impact on such pattern of the resource sharing, and has expanded the limited scope of the traditional concept into the sharing of library information in the levels of local, regional and national systems, and expertise, materials, facilities, equipments and personnels of the library system. While the traditional circulation service as a basic method to share library materials by users can provide the resource to a single person at a time, the electronic resource can be shared, by multi-users at a time anytime anywhere. The maximization of the electronic resource sharing requires that publishing process should be fundamentally changed and articles, books, chapters, speech manuscripts, music scores, maps, sound, and other formats of materials should be prepared in machine readable format. This study examined the positive effects of the technology on the resource sharing, but not investigate the concrete and complex problems as to the cost, guidelines, detailed procedures, design details, and intellectual properties and protection involved in the resource sharing. Some findings extracted from the study can be summarized as follows; (1) ILL will lose its meaning as a method to share the materials if they are all in the electronic format and the phrase 'networked information resource' becomes omnipresent. (2) The technology keeps on changing the concept of resource sharing. Today, the scope of resource sharing not only encompasses the sharing of the primary and secondary materials but also the sharing of the processings(eg. cataloging), expertise, user education, special facilities, and the integrated automated library systems. (3) The sharing of the networked resource will be a method to provide better services for library users in the low cost. (4) The a n.0, pplication of the technology to the resource sharing should be focus on the method which allows an end-users to do the direct access to the needed materials, and to be delivered the primary document as soon as possible.

This study has two aims. one is to devide the ideology of reference service into three groups such as conservative, moderative, and progressive theories, and then investigate the validity of each theory as well as any problems to be suggested. The other is to establish appropriate standards of reference service according to the types of libraries and users, based on the analysis of such theories. Each theory has its own merits and demerits. Accordingly, it seems to be difficult to apply uniformly and theory into users who have different types of question and educational levels. And also it is difficult to apply into various libraries which have different aims of establishment, characteristics, and the users of each library. Consequently, it is suggested to set up a norm of reference service according to the types of libraries and users respectively. The conservative theory is applicable to small and medium sized public libraries, school libraries, and college and university libraries of which the users are mainly students and citizens. The progressive theory is desirable for special and academic libraries as well as large public libraries where the users are mainly specialists. and scholars.

이 연구는 국내 공공도서관에서 실행하고 있는 도서관서비스헌장제도에 대해 헌장제정에 관한 이론적 고찰과 헌장내용에 관한 실증적 분석을 하였다. 헌장제정에 관한 이론적 고찰을 위해 영국의 시민헌장. 미국의 고객서비스헌장, 우리나라의 행정서비스헌장의 제정배경과 원칙을 규명하였고, 여기서 도출된 제정기준과 원칙을 근거로 경기도 B 공공도서관의 헌장내용을 실증적으로 분석 평가하였다. 분석 결과, 전반적인 헌장내용은 헌장제정기준을 어느 정도 충족시키는 것으로 나타났으나 헌장의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 서비스 이행표준의 내용이 도서관의 일방적이며 수동적 대응수준에 불과하여 타당성과 실현가능성이 낮은 것으로 분석되었다.

본 연구는 학교도서관 이용자 프라이버시에 대한 인식조사를 기반으로, 학교도서관 이용자의 개인정보보호 필요성을 제기하여 학교도서관 이용자 프라이버시에 대한 인식을 제고하는데 있다. 이를 위해 학생 프라이버시와 관련된 선행연구, 국내외 학생들의 프라이버시 보호를 위한 법적 근거 및 국내외 학생들의 개인정보보호 침해 유형 조사와 학생 프라이버시에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 학교도서관 이용자 프라이버시에 대한 인식이 낮게 나타났으며, 학교도서관 이용자 프라이버시 침해 사례의 인식, 프라이버시 보호에 대한 인식, 이용자 프라이버시 문제에 대한 심각성, 이용자들의 프라이버시를 침해할 수 있는 요인들에 대해 낮은 인식을 보였다. 둘째, 학교도서관을 이용하는 이용자들의 도서관 기록이 외부로 유출되었을 때 느끼는 심각성에 대해서는 41.6%의 응답자들은 '심각하다'고 하였고, 18.4%는 심각하지 않다고 하였다. 셋째, 제 3자가 도서관 기록 열람을 요청할 경우, 본인의 동의가 필요한지에 대한 인식을 조사한 결과, 68.5%의 응답자가 '필요하다'고 하였고, 10.4%만이 필요하지 않다고 하였다. 넷째, 학교나 외부기관에서 이용자 프라이버시관련 교육을 받은 경험이 있는지에 대해 조사하였으며, 80% 이상의 응답자들이 받은 적이 없다고 하였다.

Librarians, who work for University libraries in Korea experience a lot of confusion and difficulties because of rapidly-changing technological conditions and under-developed understanding of the University Libraries' full potential on the part of the users. I present the concept of 'Subject Services' as an approach which librarians could use to overcome these difficulties in their own way. The 'Subject Services' refers to the 'subjectized' collection development and reference services, which can more specifically address the users' needs. To make this idea more concrete, I selected Pusan National University Library as the case of my qualitative research. And I made use of various research techniques such as 'participant observation' and 'ethnographic interview'. After looking into the case library in depth, I found that the concept of 'Subject Specialist'. a person who has double master's degrees including that of library and information science, is more suitable to the University Libraries in Korea at the present developmental stage. At the end of this article, propose that the development of Core Collections, the improvement of subject-oriented reference services and the continuing education of librarians should be emphasized.
