The dynamic cast operation allows flexibility in the design and use of data management facilities in object-oriented programs. Dynamic cast has an important role in the implementation of the Data Management Services (DMS) of the Mission Data System Project (MDS), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's experimental work for providing a state-based and goal-oriented unified architecture for testing and development of mission software. DMS is responsible for the storage and transport of control and scientific data in a remote autonomous spacecraft. Like similar operators in other languages, the C++ dynamic cast operator does not provide the timing guarantees needed for hard real-time embedded systems. In a recent study, Gibbs and Stroustrup (G&S) devised a dynamic cast implementation strategy that guarantees fast constant-time performance. This paper presents the definition and application of a cosimulation framework to formally verify and evaluate the G&S fast dynamic casting scheme and its applicability in the Mission Data System DMS application. We describe the systematic process of model-based simulation and analysis that has led to performance improvement of the G&S algorithm's heuristics by about a factor of 2. In this work we introduce and apply a library for extracting semantic information from C++ source code that helps us deliver a practical and verifiable implementation of the fast dynamic casting algorithm.

그동안 대학도서관의 평가는 장서량, 서비스 제공, 이용자의 만족 수준과 같은 도서관 운영차원의 성과에 역점을 두었다. 그러나 이러한 평가는 대학도서관이 이해관계자인 학생, 교수, 기관에게 어떠한 영향력을 제공하고 나아가 모기관의 사명과 목적을 달성하는데 기여하는지 설명하기 어렵다. 본 연구는 대학도서관의 영향력 및 가치측정을 위한 논의의 출발점으로써 대학도서관의 영향력을 학생, 교수, 대학 당국과 같은 모기관의 다양한 이해관계자의 측면에서 규명하고 이에 따른 측정요소를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 결과 대학도서관이 학생에게 미치는 영향력은 학생의 학업, 성공, 성취 등에서 찾을 수 있으며 교수는 강의의 성공, 연구생산성을 통해, 대학은 대학의 명성에 도서관이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악함으로써 측정 가능한 것으로 분석되었다.

이 연구의 목표는 강원도 교육청 소속 22개 교육문화관(도서관)이 지역사회 내 교육, 지식과 문화공간으로서 공공도서관 입지를 더욱 확고히 하고, 지역 발전에 기여하는 데 필요한 중·장기 발전계획을 수립하고, 미래를 향한 정책적 지향점을 제시하는 것이다. 문헌 및 웹사이트 조사, 각종 공공도서관 통계 분석, 2019년 11월부터 12월 사이 도서관 이용자 설문조사와 전문가 심층인터뷰를 통해 강원도 교육문화관(도서관)의 현황 및 요구를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 분석 결과를 기반으로 사명을 도출하고, 비전, 목표, 전략, 핵심과제를 체계화하여 교육문화관(도서관) 정책 기반 강화, 교육 중심 특화장서 개발 및 구성, 이용자 친화적인 공간 재구성 및 지자체 도서관과 차별화된 서비스 제공이라는 4개 전략목표 및 16개 핵심 추진사업을 제안하였다. 강원도 교육문화관(도서관)의 운영 활성화에는 도서관 건물과 시설, 장서와 서비스, 사서 전문인력을 핵심으로 하는 하드웨어(HW), 소프트웨어(SW), 및 휴먼웨어(HW)의 3개 요소 전반의 개선 및 강화가 필요하였다. 본 연구는 이를 위해 미래에 지속 가능한 발전방안을 제시하였다.

본 연구는 공공도서관에서의 전자책 서비스에 있어 주요 쟁점 사항을 도출하고 이에 대한 대응 방안을 제시함으로써, 향후 도서관의 시각을 반영한 전자책 서비스 운영의 토대를 마련하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 도서관계와 출판계를 중심으로 공공도서관의 현행 전자책 대출 서비스에 관한 상반된 시각과 주요 문제점을 파악하였다. 또한 공공도서관 전자책 대출에 관해 발표된 5종의 원칙을 내용적으로 범주화하여 도서관계의 공공도서관 전자책 대출의 핵심 원칙 7개를 도출하였다. 이러한 원칙을 대상으로 출판계가 제기하는 주요한 문제점과 국내외의 주요 대응 방식의 사례를 대응시켜 현안별로 대립되고 있는 양상과 그 내용을 분석하였다. 마지막으로 주요 쟁점 사안별로 공공도서관의 공공성 증진이라는 사명의 측면과 도서관 전자책 대출 모델 개발에 관한 측면, 법적 제도 마련의 측면 등에서 향후 도서관계의 대응 방안을 논하였다.

As many Korean libraries has begun to be automated and become a part of the worldwide, open library system, they need a new management. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the library management in automated libraries and to establish a theory of the library management in information society, The automated libraries could be well explained by the systems theory and the environment of the libraries could be well explained by the contingency theory, The following hypothesis were set to direct this research. 1. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the libraries interact closely with the environment so that the library and the environment become one. 2. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians need to work in the environment for the library networks, standardization of cataloging, or government information policy making. 3. As the libraries are automated and become a part of one big, worldwide library system, the librarians only manage the library, The various other library staffs take over the traditional library services directly related to books. The data were gathered from the research done previously, Also the date were collected from the American and Japanese libraries. The findings were as follows: The environment of the library integrated all types of the library services such as school library, university library, etc. And it also integrated all the services of the media centers and the press centers, etc. to library services. And the new library services began in the environment. Librarians worked for these new services. In the library, the librarians distingushed the library system from the environment by planning : mission, goal, objectives, policy, procedures and rules. Library organization became temporary such as forming task forces or matrix or free form. The environment controlled the library. Staffs were controlled by plans or computers. And the professional librarians were controlled by their ability to solve problems raised outside the libraries. Library leaders brought in the technology to the library from its environment. The librarians led the formal and informal organizations so that the staffs cooperated well in their work. And librarians tought the library procedures to the partime workers or the temporary staffs. Participative management and management by objectives were the means of motivating staffs. Budget was based on the ever changing environment. The zero based budget method was applied. Therfore, in the information society, the professional librarians become the able managers in the library and global librarians in the environment.

이 연구의 목적은 국내 공공도서관의 발전을 위한 마케팅 전략을 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 세계적으로 대표적인 공공도서관으로 손꼽히는 미국 뉴욕지역 공공도서관 중에서 4곳을 대상으로 사례연구를 수행하였다. 이 연구에서는 사례 공공도서관들이 특히 지역사회 공동체의 발전과 고객의 정보요구에 적극 부응하기 위하여 어떠한 노력을 하는가를 살펴보았다. 연구방법은 문헌연구, 뉴욕 공공도서관에서의 참여관찰 및 원시 자료 수집, 국내외 관장 및 사서 대상 심층인터뷰 등이다. 이러한 조사결과를 바탕으로 한국 공공도서관 경영을 위한 마케팅 전략을 제시하였다.

미국 국회는 일반인들에게 정부 문서를 무료로 자유롭게 접할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 연방정부 간행물 기탁도서관제도(FDLP)를 설립했다. 미국 정부 문서 발행기관(GPO)에 의해서 운영되는 FDLP의 역할은 FDLP에 가입한 미국내 1,250이 넘는 도서관들에게 정부 세 기관(입법, 사법, 행정)으로부터 발행되는 모든 정보물을 배포하는 데 있다. 정부 문서 보관기관은 모든 타입의 정부 문서를 일반인에게 무료로 이용할 수 있게 함으로써 미국 일반인의 정보를 알 권리를 보호한다. 이 문서는 다음과 같은 사항을 기술하고 있다: GPO 와FDLP의 역할, GPO의 조직구조, 정무 문서 보관기관의 의무와 책임, 알리기 서비스와 문서 소장, 위탁과 연결, 그리고 정부 문서 보관기관의 미래와 도전.

본 연구의 목적은 도서관의 사명 및 이상을 수립하기 위한 기초적인 연구이다. 그 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 우선, 조직의 사명과 이상 수립을 다루고 있는 기획, 전략적 경영, 조직문화 등에서 기술된 관련용어들의 개념과 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 둘째, 도서관의 사명과 이상 수립의 중요성과 절차 등을 설명하고자 한다. 셋째, 국내ㆍ외 도서관의 사명과 이상을 조사 분석하고자 한다. 넷째, 도서관이 사명과 이상을 수립하는데 기반으로 삼을 수 있는 기본적인 그 역할들을 논의하고자 한다. 다섯째, 우리나라 도서관들이 사명과 이상 중심의 바람직한 경영관리 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

국립디지털도서관(NDL)이 국가대표 디지털도서관으로서 본연의 기능을 수행하기 위해선 최신의 정보환경인 IT 및 유비쿼터스 환경을 고려한 정보서비스 정책이 수립되어야 한다. 본 연구는 전술한 필요성에 의거하여 포커스그룹 인터뷰와 이용자 및 사서를 대상으로 한 설문조사 분석을 통하여 NDL의 정보서비스 정책을 수립하였다. 또한, 수립된 정보서비스 정책의 타당성을 제고하기 위하여 국립중앙도서관 관계자들을 대상으로 한 중간 평가와 외부 전문가 및 자문단을 통한 1, 2차 검증을 통하여 최종적으로 NDL 정보서비스 정책의 비전, 사명 목적, 목표, 전략 등을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 제시된 NDL의 정보서비스 정책은 초유의 연구사례로서 향후, 정보서비스 정책을 수립하고 세부지침을 마련하고자 하는 다른 디지털도서관에게도 경험적 사실과 근거를 제시하여 줄 것이다.

본 연구는 우리나라 교회도서관 이용자인 성도와 목회자를 대상으로 교회도서관에 대한 인식을 조사 분석하여 현황을 파악하고 개선점을 제시하고자 하였다. 조사 대상은 교회도서관이 있는 교회, 소규모 마을문고 형태의 도서관이 있는 교회, 그리고 교회도서관이 없는 교회 등을 선정하고, 응답자는 해당 각 교회의 성도 100인을 무작위추출방법으로 선정하고 교회의 목회자는 10인을 추가하여 각 교회마다 110인을 선정하였다. 본 연구에서는 연구배경 및 선행연구에 대한 조사에는 문헌적 연구방법을, 이용자의 인식 파악을 위해서는 설문조사방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 이용자의 도서관 이용률은 저조한 편이며, 도서관 역할에 대해서는 소규모 마을문고나 교회의 문서관, 기능에 있어서는 열람실, 독서실, 독서지도 등을 지적하였다. 사서의 도움 만족도나 필요성에 있어서는 리커트 척도의 3.5(5점 척도) 이상으로 긍정적이었다. 자료 구성은 목회자와 성도에게 필요한 종교관련 도서 위주를 선호하고, 교회도서관을 지역주민에게 개방하는 것은 매우 긍정적으로 찬성하며, 전도에도 도움이 된다고 하였다. 따라서 향후 도서관이 없는 교회는 성도의 종교지식 함양과 전도의 효과를 위해 교회도서관 설치를 적극적으로 고려해야 할 것이다.
