본 연구는 정보광장 담당 사서를 대상으로 정보광장 의미와 목적, 새로운 도서관 환경에서의 역할, 도서관의 본질과 발전 방향, 그리고 정보광장 이용행태에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 총 28명을 인터뷰한 결과 정보광장에 대한 사서의 인식은 1) 정보광장의 전통적인 학술 연구 기능만을 강조하여 이를 학술연구 시설로만 이해하는 유형, 2) 정보광장을 학술연구를 위한 물리적 공간으로 이해하면서 아울러 문화융복합적 기능을 강조하는 유형, 3) 정보광장을 창조적 기능이 강조된 학술문화 복합시설로 이해하는 유형의 3가지로 대별되었다. 이는 정보광장 이용자 이용행태에 대한 평가와 도서관의 발전 방향에 대한 인식과 밀접히 연관되어 있는 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구의 목적은 맞춤형 이용자교육을 시행하고 있는 국내 대학도서관의 맞춤형 이용자교육담당 사서들의 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 맞춤형 이용자교육을 제공해 본 경험이 있는 8명의 사서를 대상으로 일차적으로 심층면담하고, 그들의 응답과 문헌조사를 토대로 설문지를 개발하여 해당 교육을 제공해 본 전국 94개 대학도서관의 사서 94명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 연구결과, 응답자 대부분이 맞춤형 이용자교육에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하는 가운데, 교육 운영에서 교수진과의 협력을 가장 중요하다고 여기는 것으로 나타났다. 또 맞춤형 교육사서에게 필요한 것으로 석사학위나 주제지식보다 교육에 대한 의지나 봉사정신 등 태도적 측면을 더 중요한 것으로 인식하고 있었으며, 담당인력 부족을 교육 운영의 가장 큰 어려움으로 파악하고 있었다. 본 연구결과는 현장에서 맞춤형 이용자교육을 확대, 제공하는데 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

이 연구는 2009년에 개발되어 현재 선도학교를 통해 활용되고 있는 교원능력개발평가 사서교사 평가지표 및 문항에 대한 설문조사를 통해 그 개선점을 제안하였다. 연구결과 현행 평가지표 및 문항의 중요도에 대한 사서교사의 인식이 대체로 긍정적인 것으로 나타났고, 각 문항의 중요도와 수행도에 대한 사서교사의 인식에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 평가지표 및 문항에서 개선해야 할 점으로는 현재의 평가문항에 다양한 독서교육활동 실시여부에 대한 항목 추가, 자료조직 및 관리 관련 평가문항 수정의 필요성, 학생지도 평가영역 명칭에 대한 제고 등이 제기되었다. 이러한 연구결과는 현재 활용되고 있는 사서교사 평가지표와 문항이 대체로 타당하기는 하지만 일부분에서 수정 보완이 필요함을 제시하였다.

본 연구의 목적은 사서와 이용자의 공공도서관에 대한 인식을 비교 분석함으로써 도서관 발전방안 수립 및 서비스 방향 설정에 필요한 기초정보를 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울특별시교육청 공공도서관의 사서와 이용자 각각 270명, 820명을 대상으로 현재 도서관의 환경, 미래 도서관의 역할 및 위상, 도서관 정책과 관련한 설문조사를 수행하였다. 조사 결과, 사서들은 오랜 역사와 축적된 자원을 가장 큰 강점으로 인식하는 반면, 이용자들은 인적자원에 대한 만족도가 가장 높게 나타났다. 공공도서관의 역할과 미래의 위상에 대해서는 사서와 이용자 모두 독서와 교육을 중요하게 인식하고 있어, 두 집단이 공공도서관에 대한 공통된 기대를 갖고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 미래 도서관의 정책 방안으로 사서는 노후시설의 개선과 사서의 재교육을 제시한 반면, 이용자는 장서 확충과 열람실 이용 확대를 원하는 등 두 집단 사이의 인식차이가 있는 것으로 나타나 이러한 인식 차이를 고려한 공공도서관 정책 개발의 필요성을 보여주었다.

As new technologies change a society, librarians need to understand and adapt to technology innovations. However, most innovations that librarians are supposed to adopt are government-driven or top-down changes; and there have been very few studies conducted to identify any patterns or consistencies in librarians' perceptions of innovation. This paper, therefore, has two research purposes. First, it introduces the Concern Based Adoption Model (CBAM) as one method to gain a deeper understanding of how librarians see such changes. Second, this study identifies school librarians' concerns regarding digital textbooks in South Korea applying the CBAM theory. The test signifies that school librarians present a typical non-user profile, and the pattern anticipates a potential resistance to digital textbooks. Also, it discovers the less experienced and innovator librarians had higher concerns across every stage. The findings underscore a need of various interventions. The CBAM theory suggests, in terms of intense Stage 0 and 1, it is required for school librarians to have events to gain information about digital textbook implementation. Regarding targeted interventions, since the biggest gaps occurs in Stage 4, Consequence and Stage 5, Collaboration, according to school librarians' experience and adoption style, new school librarians need stronger engagement with the community, which including associations, mentors or peer support, and collaborating with public libraries; innovator school librarians require opportunities to test and present their use of digital textbooks (Hall and Hord 1987).

공공도서관의 이용 및 정보서비스의 질을 제고하는데 있어 이용자들의 사서에 대한 인식이 중요한 측면이 될 수 있으며, 따라서 이용자들의 사서에 대한 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 무엇인지에 대한 확인이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공공도서관을 중심으로 이용자들의 사서에 대한 일반적인 인식 및 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 설문조사를 통해 실증적으로 확인하였다. 분석 결과, 도서관 소장자료와 설비의 이용, 도서관을 통한 동아리 활동 참여는 사서에 대한 긍정적인 인식 형성에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 사서의 역할은 정보적 활동에서 사회적 활동을 지원해 주는 방향으로 확대되는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 공공도서관 프로그램 참여나 소장자료의 대출, 사서와의 커뮤니케이션 등 사서와의 직접적인 교류가 이루어지는 요인들이 사서에 대한 인식 형성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않고 있으며, 따라서 사서의 이용자에 대한 고려가 보다 실제적으로 반영될 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This research has investigated the perceptions of subject specialization services and the opinions of students majoring in library and information science preparing for librarianship, librarians operating in the field, and library directors on the status and ways of nurturing subject specialization for librarians, among others. To this end, based on the results of previous research and the survey questionnaire analysis, we have presented a policy to train subject librarians. First, we have proposed a plan for systematizing the current educational system within the department of library and information science. We have also suggested ways to secure subject expertise based on curriculum management, minor programs, multi-major programs, and interdisciplinary major programs based on the standard curriculum model. Second, we have presented a subject specialization educational system for field librarians, and further suggested details for the development of an educational program that can help build subject expertise and the operation of educational methods as well as the personnel in charge of implementing the educational programs. Third, we have proposed institutionalization of the qualifications of the subject librarian where the qualification requirements have been organized considering academic background, major program, library career, and career experience in the subject specialization service, further suggesting the implementation and maintenance of the system.

In response to the changing needs of users and library services, there is a need to develop a library information science curriculum that reflects such change and to foster competent librarians. Recent studies abroad have emphasized the need for librarians who can apply design thinking methods which is a problem-solving methodology that expansively explores various alternatives and derives results, in response to recent changes and problems occurring in libraries. In this study, in order to understand how design thinking methods can be taught and to understand the perceptions of the students and librarians involved in the course, a case study is conducted of a class that applied design thinking methods and students and librarians have been interviewed who had experience participating in the class. By reflecting on the needs of students and librarians', this study explored new directions of what forms courses can take for future librarians. Based on the results of the analysis, among the different characteristics of design thinking, the value of cooperation, problem-solving ability, flexibility and iteration of design characteristics was considered as the value of a class for LIS students and librarians where design thinking methods were applied. From the findings, the research suggests future directions of creating more structured courses that involve an element of design thinking.

본 연구는 대학도서관 공간변화에 대한 사서들의 인식을 파악함으로써 대학도서관의 전문사서가 평가하는 대학도서관 리노베이션 혹은 신축으로 인한 공간변화의 효과성 및 효율성 그리고 향후 개선 방향을 도출하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대학도서관 사서들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 아울러 현재 리노베이션 혹은 신축이 진행되고 있는 대학도서관의 사서들과 면대면 혹은 전화로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 대학도서관 공간변화는 크게 이용자의 요구를 반영한 다양한 공간 마련, 최신 IT시설 확충 그리고 보존 공간 확보의 세 가지 목적으로 이루어 진 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 도서관 목적에 부합하는 실질적 기능과 활용성을 고려한 공간변화와 대학의 특성을 고려한 독창적인 공간변화 그리고 이러한 공간변화에 보다 주도적이고 비전을 제시할 수 있는 사서의 역할에 대한 중요성이 제기되었다.

창의력, 비판적 사고력, 의사소통역량, 그리고 협업역량으로 대변되는 대학의 미래 학습 및 혁신 역량 교육을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해 대학도서관의 공간혁신이 과제로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이용자와 사서의 관점에서 대학도서관 공간에 대한 인식 및 수요를 파악하고 이를 통해 공간혁신의 방향성 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해, 이용자와 사서를 위한 각각의 설문지를 설계하고 대학도서관의 이용자 363명과 대학도서관 사서 186명의 응답을 수집하여 그들의 도서관 공간 및 공간서비스에 대한 인식과 수요를 분석하였다. 그리고 이용자의 공간에 대한 인식은 이용자의 특성별, 이용행태별 차이를 분석하고, 사서의 공간에 대한 인식은 소속도서관 규모, 사서의 인구통계학적 특성별로 차이를 분석하였다. 또한 공간 및 공간서비스에 대한 인식은 이용자와 사서간 차이분석을 실시하였다. 본 논문의 결과는 수요자 기반의 도서관 신축이나 공간 재구성 계획 시 참고할만한 자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.
