The simplified form in which the bell was hung by raising the outer wall appeared in the early church shows a change in the composition with a porch in front. The stone church and the quanset-structured church only appeared after liberation and were built only in the 1950s. The size of the cathedral reflects the increase in the number of believers after the Korean War, and the average area is about 1.5 times higher than before liberation. When considering the spacing of the bays as a module, the size plan followed the implicit norm of early cathedral architecture of 36.5m, but gradually decreased to 2.7m and 2.4m.

  • This study analyzed the poverty rate by poverty dimension, correlation between multidimensional poverty, variables that affected the number of poverty dimension and the probability of the poor or not. The sample consisted of 6,361 elderly households (1,561 baby boom birth cohort, 1,793 post-liberation birth cohort, 3,007 Japanese colonial period birth cohort) taken from the $12^{th}$ Korean Welfare Panel Study. Fourth, the significant variables in all cohorts were gender, education, marital status, residence, and equalized ordinary income for the multiple regression analysis on the number of poverty dimensions. Additionally, age of the post-liberation birth cohort was significant, age and family numbers of the Japanese colonial period birth cohort were significant. Significant variables in logistic analysis on the probability of poverty or not were the same as those of regression analysis.

  • This study explores children's images in The Children's News, a children's newspaper during the Liberation period. For this purpose, frequency analysis, topic modeling, and time series analysis were performed from the first issue of December 1, 1945 to the 86 issue of December 13, 1947, except for No. 34, which was not passed down. As a result of frequency analysis, keywords related to country, school, and family appeared frequently, and through topic modeling, children's images were observed in these topics, including children with patriotism, children with scientific literacy, children with artistic refinement, and children as social beings. The time series analysis results show that the percentage of patriotism-related topics was high during the early days of the Liberation period when The Children's News were published, but as the ratio of topics such as science and art gradually increased, it was confirmed that the image of children was diversified.

  • The negative symbol of 'American imperialism', which was reinterpreted superimposed on the symbol imposed on Japanese imperialism in the 1945 Liberation of Korea, was more amplified added by the experiences of the bombing and massacre by US troops during the Korean War. In other words, the symbol of the extreme 'American imperialism' in the liberation in which even the role of America contributing to the liberation of Josun had been denied had continued for a long time adhered to and amplified through the war. Thus, unlike the current emphasis laid by North Josun, the assertion in the form of 'American imperialism=Korean wolf' is an idea made from the mixture of fact and fiction combined with the theory of imperialism rediscovered in the liberation and the experience of massacre during the Korean War. And this superimposed symbol for American imperialism naturally causes the problem of being superimposed also on the symbol of North Josun. And the extreme formalization for 'good' and 'bad' sides was based on the dichotomous compositions of beauty and ugliness, good and evil. The ground for saying that an act by a good side is 'unconditionally' legitimate is nowhere found. The anti-American viewpoint rediscovered in such an extreme form results in one aspect of criticism and resemblance as a result of being locked up in the same violence which one has rejected by oneself. The anti-American viewpoint going on in the form of anti-imperialist nationalism leaves nothing except another terrible retaliation for terrible brutality. It is self-evident that one can never get out of the enchanting power of imperialism which North Josun has continuously criticized in a ring of violence and vengeance, the familiar grammar commanded by North Josun literature.

  • A Podaegi is a square cloth used to carry a baby. Podaegi was an essential necessity for raising baby. However currently Koreans prefer baby-carriers, baby hip-seats, and equipments other than Podaegi. Recently, Podaegi is becoming popular around the world. Therefore, it is necessary to study Podaegi to inform Korea's traditional parenting culture product. In this research, 230 images of Podaegi were collected from paintings, photographs, postcards, films and artifacts from the late 18th century to 2000. The period of study was divided into three phases from the late Joseon Dynasty to before the opening of the port, from the opening of the port to before the liberation, and from the liberation to 2000. Types of Podaegi were categorized according to its shape and how to use. Transition process of Podaegi was examined. Podaegis were categorized into band type, blanket type, combination type, cheone type, modern type, and so on. From the late Joseon Dynasty to before the pre-openings, band type was used. From the opening of the port to liberation, all types of Podaegi appeared. Since the liberation, the use of band and blanket type has gradually decreased. Modern types have been the most popular since the 1960s. Materials of Podaegi became varied and Podaegi became a fashion-item. Later, modern Podaegi became the representative form of Korean traditional Podaegi.

  • The early hydration of tri-calcium silicate $(C_3S)$ with different cooling conditions was studied by varing water/solid ratio and atmosphere. The cooling condition and water/solid ratio affected to the second peak of heat liberation but it had no correlation to the induction period. The $Ca^{2+}$ concentration in the aqueous solution was maximized at the starting point of the second peak of heat liberation but in the $CO_2$ exsistence the $Ca^{2+}$ concentration was low and $SiO_2$ con-centration was increased. The hydration rate of $C_3S$ was so accelerated that the induction period could not appear in the $CO_2$ exsistence.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the 'Scenery of the Urban Residence' represented in Korean films of the liberation period. It is assumed that public films reflect the human activities, residential culture and cityscape of those days. For the analysis, a pool of 7 Korean films from 1946 till 1949 was constructed. In these films, the sceneries of the urban life were represented as the following: 1) The western-style architectural spaces, such as cultural residence and apartment were emphasized to reflect the longing and curiosity of the general public for modern culture and lifestyle. 2) The cityscape including a narrow alley, crossroads and modern buildings was intentionally represented to express visually the city of Seoul under the slow wave of modernization.

  • Tiffany & Co. had been recognized so highly in Korea even before its official advance to the country in 1991 that a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany'. The purpose of this study was to explain how American brand Tiffany had been spread and recognized among Korean people by analyzing related articles and advertisements during the period from the Liberation to the 1989. The research method used in this study was the articles of newspapers and relevant literature. This is the result that, with the run of movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's in Korea in 1962, the trade name and trademark of Tiffany were used illegally not only by jewelry traders but also by other businesses. Other luxury jewelry brands in the same period could not enjoy indirect advertising and spillover effects as good as Tiffany. As a result, a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany' in 1989, and the expression is still valid in the country.

  • Objective : Establishment and development of Woongihak on Korea requires detailed study into its contents including each period's Woongihak theory and clinical practices. Method : Woongihak is assumed to have been introduced during the Coreyo Dynasty. Then its development stage is divided into early, middle, later periods in Chosun dynasty, and the category further developed into the Japanese colonial period and then the post-liberation era. These periods were given respect to while medical textx and data related to Woongihak were collected and analyzed. Woongihak was found in Uibang-yuchwi, which entered Chosun Dynastyin early period and was published, where it annotated Sanghanjiggyeog, Saminbang, and eumjeungyaglye. Donguibogam, which was published during the middle period, introduced Woongi by hosting a sentence of Cheonjiungi, and Chochanggyeol was published during the late period and brought the level of Woongihak in Korea a step further. Lectures on Diagram of Woongihakw as published during the Japanese colonial era, but it lacks uniqueness since it was a translation of Suwenrushiyunqilunao. Another book published during this period was OunyukgiUihakbogam by Cho Wonhui.
