This study aims to explore the new paradigm of regional development strategy with the theory of Resilience. Resilience can be defined in terms of a set of interacted capacities to absorb and adapted to different kinds of shocks and disturbance at the regional level. This study focuses particularly on the interaction of component of resilience with the context of regional development strategy. As a result of the Systems thinking approach about dynamic interactions between resilience components and regional problems, this study find that there are many feedback structures which is need for a better understanding of the complex regional resilient development system. This study suggests that the Archytypes of resilience-focused strategy of regional development, which could help achieve an evolution for regional community and people to adapt and bounce back from crisis.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the level and characteristics of system thinking of middle and high school students on cycle of matter in the Earth system considering the impact of human activities on the cycle. For this purpose, we developed items for assessment and assessment rubric through the analysis of 2015 revised curriculum and applying systems thinking, respectively. Middle and high school students who participated in the Korea Earth Science Olympiad were the subjects of this study. The level of system thinking was determined using the assessment rubric for student responses collected using items for assessment. The characteristics of system thinking were identified using word analysis. Based on these, the improvement of the curriculum considering the impact of human activities was discussed. The results of the study are as follows: first, the system thinking level of most secondary school students was low in identifying or classifying system elements for matter cycle, and high levels, such as system relationship or generalization of patterns, were found to be relatively small. It was found that students had a higher level of system thinking in the carbon cycle than in the water cycle. Second, in terms of the characteristics of system thinking about water cycle, water was recognized as a major system element and mainly related with evaporation between atmosphere and other system elements. Whereas, in the carbon cycle, carbon dioxide was regarded as a major system element, and photosynthesis and respiration were represented in relation with the biosphere. Third, for education considering the impact of human activities on the matter cycle in the Earth system, it is proposed improving the curriculum considering the socio-ecological system by extending the existing earth system.

Most of systems engineers make a traceability matrix and attach it to their technical documents as a result of systems engineering activities. I have been working in the field of systems engineering for many years and have been watching traceability matrices created by systems engineers or developers from various companies. I have been thinking that some of them are not suitable in terms of purposes of traceability matrix. In this paper, I would like to suggest a right template for the traceability matrix in conformance to traceability purposes. The key is that traceability matrix should be created from higher level of requirements to current level of requirements.

Although the development of scientific thinking is one of the significant goals in science education in schools, there is a lack of empirical research on how science teachers conceptualize scientific thinking. This study explored how four pre-service secondary-level science teachers conceptualized scientific thinking and elaborated their conceptions through peer discussions. Results involved each pre-service teacher's conceptual spectrum of scientific thinking and showed the process of elaboration in their conceptions about three crucial issues in small-group or larger discussions. Three issues related to scientific thinking included everyday vs. scientific thinking, the relationship between science knowledge and scientific thinking, and the relationship between logical systems and evidence. Implications for pre-service science teacher education were discussed, and further research was suggested based on the results of this study.
In the advent of ubiquitous information technology (u-IT) as a new emerging horizon of information society, inflated expectations regarding u-IT are growing very fast and higher than those made in the past, which would perhaps result in serious bust after boom and incur tremendous amount of social costs. This paper thus investigates a dynamic mechanism underlying the coevolution between information technology and society by applying systems thinking, particularly, with a focus on the typical phenomenon, 'hype curve' which shows how new technologies initially grow too fast for their own good, crashing from a peak of inflated expectations into a trough of disillusionment before stabilizing on a plateau of productivity. Three basic questions are explored to answer by investigating the mechanisms underlying the 'boom-bust' phenomenon: First, why hype curve appears in the process of technology and society coevolution. Second, how to enhance the stabilization level. Third, when is the right time for the policy intervention.
We draw on well-established thinking in the complementary fields of organization theory and strategic management to develop a model explaining why fit among a firm's competitive strategy, its structure, and its technology is a prerequisite for superior performance. The contributions of this theoretical treatise are twofold. Firstly, it helps reduce the disconnect in thinking that exists between the strategy and organization-theory literatures on business-level issues. Secondly, it reveals the importance of managing the coalignment among strategy, structure, and technology which, in turn, forces recognition that competitive advantage does not exist in a static state but in a dynamic condition.

ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems-Requirements has been revised in 2015. It has been updated four times since its publication in 1987. It is the most widely used International Standard in the world. There are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001 from an ISO survey. Organizations are supposed to be certified to this new version by late 2018. The key changes in ISO 9001:2015 are to establish a High Level Structure (HLS) and focus on Risk-Based Thinking (RBT). Risk-Based Thinking means the process approach to decide how risk is addressed in establishing the processes to improve process outputs and prevent undesirable results. It pursues process planning and controls based on risks so that organizations can improve the effectiveness of the quality management system. It maintains and manages a Quality Management System that inherently addresses risks and meets objectives. In this article we firstly attempt to explain how to understand the fundamental concept of Risk-Based Thinking which is a systematic approach to consider risks rather than treating prevention as a separate component of a Quality Management System. We comment on the detailed requirements that contain risks in ISO 9001:2015 clauses. We also summarize recent advances on the risk assessment and management in line with ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management-Principles and Guidelines. We finally propose the practical risk management procedures for implementing ISO 9001:2015 with an emphasis on RBT. This article would contribute to help quality managers and practitioners convert to ISO 9001:2015.
This paper proposes the hybrid algorithm for the optimization of the structure and parameters of the fuzzy neural networks by genetic algorithms (GA) to improve the behaviour and the design of fuzzy neural networks. Fuzzy neural networks have a distinguishing feature in that they can possess the advantage of both neural networks and fuzzy systems. In this way, we can bring the low-level learning and computational power of neural networks into fuzzy systems and also high-level, human like IF-THEN rule thinking and reasoning of fuzzy systems into neural networks. As a result, there are many research works concerning the optimization of the structure and parameters of fuzzy neural networks. In this paper, we propose the hybrid algorithm that can optimize both the structure and parameters of fuzzy neural networks. Numerical example is provided to show the advantages of the proposed method.
Computational thinking in the AI and Big Data era for digital society means a series of problem-solving methods that involve expressing problems and their solutions in ways that computers can execute. Computational thinking is an approach to solving problems, designing systems, and understanding human behavior by deriving basic concepts in computer science, and solving difficult problems and elusive puzzles for students. We recently studied 93 pre-service teachers who are currently a freshman at ◯◯ university. The results of the first semester class, the participants created a satisfactory algorithm of the video level. Also, the proposed model was found to contribute greatly to the understanding of the computational thinking of the students participating in the class.

Present monetary system is based on fallacies. The purpose of this article is to highlight the pitfalls in economic thinking. The article shows that this way of thinking leads to the creation of inflation which is the root of all evil. The analysis proceeds in different approach to the contemporary theory of money. An inflation- free monetary system is introduced. Monetary system is the set of mechanisms that controls money. In this broad sense, monetary system can be divided into three different systems. Each of them has different goal; National monetary system which aims to raise sufficient funds in order to reach an optimal level of output growth that maintains full employment and satisfies the economic requirements of the community. National redistribution system which aims to redistribute funds in order to sustain individuals at or above a specified material standard of living, and enable government to provide public services. International monetary system which aims to preserve rights of parties in foreign exchange transactions.
