In this research, the automatic level measurement system used in land leveling was developed. By using a laser transmitter and a receiver as measuring equipments, level was measured automatically. The driving part of this system was composed of stepping motor, timing belt and pulley. It drived the laser receiver to track laser beam generated form the laser transmitter. The level measuring experiments were performed about three level change shapes (step, random, sine). This system could measure step level change of which amplitude was 40mm in 0.5s, random level change within .+-. mm, maximum measurement error. In case of sine level change, experiment was executed with varying the spatial frequency of level change. As a result, this system was able to measure sine level change of which spatial frequency was 0.5m $^{-1}$ accurately.
Operation of KORAIL's level crossing is in charge of KORAIL. As taking over existing level crossing to KORAIL, they do not conduct risk assessments, so we do not know about any possibilities of inner risk. And present operation of safety of the level crossing is just regular checking of reaction and functions of safety equipments physically, we need to react to the changes of what's going on around of level crossing and incestigation of traffic flow and surrounding conditions more spontaneously. So, we have to prepare the strategies against accidents of level crossing cost-effectively based on regular risk assessments for sustainable safety improvements and overcome operational problems of present level crossing's safety. Here, we're going to investigate the level of safety level and present risk factors of the level crossing using risk assessments for accidents/error of the equipments to show operational strategies of level crossing based on risk assessments.
The normalization on the characteristics of water level change at the upstream gauging station was attempted according to the operation of drainage sluice gate of the Geumgang estuary dam. The characteristics were normalized by the analysis of water level change and by the linear-regression of the water level data measured at the inner station of Geumgang estuary dam and upstream gauging station. The results of normalization may be referred to the management of Geumgang estuary lake, the operation of pumping and drainage stations in the shore of the lake. The mean response time of water level change on Ibpo, Ganggyeong and Gyuam water level station were 39,81 and 160 minutes, when sluice gate was opened respectively. The mean velocity of surface wave, the mean displacement of water level change, the mean time of water level change and the mean rate of water level change varied largely depending on the location of gauging station and the characteristics of stream section of the water level gauging station.
In this paper, a capacitive water level sensor for boilers was developed. In order to accurately monitor the water level in a high-temperature boiler that generates a lot of precipitates, the occurrence of precipitates on the surface of the water level sensor should be small, and a sensor capable of measuring even if the sensor surface is somewhat contaminated is required. The capacitive water level sensor has a structure in which one of the two electrodes is insulated with Teflon coating, and the stainless steel package of the water level sensor is brought into contact with the water tank so that the entire water tank becomes another electrode of the water level sensor. A C-V converter that converts the capacitance change of the capacitive water level sensor into a voltage change was developed and integrated with the water level sensor to minimize noise. The performance of the developed capacitive water level sensor was evaluated through measurement.
The present study investigates how consumers' construal level affects their variety seeking behavior when choosing multiple items simultaneously. Especially the authors focus on the perceptual level at which variety seeking takes place and propose that variety seeking can take place not only at brand level but also at category or subcategory level. Categorical variety seeking refers to diversification of one's choices over multiple brands not within the same category but across multiple categories. Building on construal level theory, the authors expected that people engaging in higher-level construals tend to subcategorize the choice set and distribute their choices across more subcategories and designed four experiments to test the related hypotheses. The experimental results showed that consumers' construal level can affect the level at which variety seeking takes place and those with higher construal level tend to choose options seemingly more dissimilar to each other.
The objective of this study was to develop automatic event detection algorithm for groundwater level rise. The groundwater level data and rainfall data in July and August at 37 locations nationwide were analyzed to develop the algorithm for groundwater level rise due to rainfall. In addition, the algorithm for groundwater level rise by ice melting and ground freezing was developed through the analysis of groundwater level data in January. The algorithm for groundwater level rise by rainfall was composed of three parts, including correlation between previous rainfall and groundwater level, simple linear regression analysis between previous rainfall and groundwater level, and diagnosis of groundwater level rise due to new rainfall. About 49% of the analyzed data was successfully simulated for groundwater level rise by rainfall. The algorithm for groundwater level rise due to ice melting and ground freezing included graphic analysis for groundwater level versus time (day), simple linear regression analysis for groundwater level versus time, and diagnosis of groundwater level rise by new ice melting and ground freezing. Around 37% of the analyzed data was successfully simulated for groundwater level rise due to ice melting and ground freezing. The algorithms from this study would help develop strategies for sustainable development and conservation of groundwater resources.
In the present study, we examined the effect of pertussis toxin (PTX) administered centrally in a variety of stress-induced blood glucose level. Mice were exposed to stress after the pretreatment of PTX (0.05 or 0.1 mg) i.c.v. or i.t. once for 6 days. Blood glucose level was measured at 0, 30, 60 and 120 min after stress stimulation. The blood glucose level was increased in all stress groups. The blood glucose level reached at maximum level after 30 min of stress stimulation and returned to a normal level after 2 h of stress stimulation in restraint stress, physical, and emotional stress groups. The blood glucose level induced by cold-water swimming stress was gradually increased up to 1 h and returned to the normal level. The intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) or intrathecal (i.t.) pretreatment with PTX, a $G_i$ inhibitor, alone produced a hypoglycemia and almost abolished the elevation of the blood level induced by stress stimulation. The central pretreatment with PTX caused a reduction of plasma insulin level, whereas plasma corticosterone level was further up-regulated in all stress models. Our results suggest that the hyperglycemia produced by physical stress, emotional stress, restraint stress, and the cold-water swimming stress appear to be mediated by activation of centrally located PTX-sensitive G proteins. The reduction of blood glucose level by PTX appears to due to the reduction of plasma insulin level. The reduction of blood glucose level by PTX was accompanied by the reduction of plasma insulin level. Plasma corticosterone level up-regulation by PTX in stress models may be due to a blood glucose homeostatic mechanism.
This paper proposes inter-level causal reasoning to implement synergistic approach. We decompose KOSPI prediction model into economy and industry level. Two kinds of intra-level QCOM are combined in inter-level QCOM via Inter-level relations. Downward reasoning is achieved by propagating the disturbance in the higher level to lower level while upward reasoning is to analyze the reverse cases.
The purpose of this study was to identify the gap between need-level and demonstration-level in nursing managerial competencies. In addition, the study proposes solutions to narrow this gap. The results of this study are as follows : 1) The mean score for need-level of each item was 4.0, and for demonstration-level, 3.5. This indicates that military hospital head nurses demonstrate a higher level of managerial competencies than the moderate level on all items. But items which were related to resource/ cost/ information managament, staff development management and professionalism management got relatively low ratings in the need-level. 2) The mean score for need-level of each category was 4.14, and for demonstration-level, 3.53. Categories on the individual dimension got a higher rating than categories on the group or organization dimension in both need-level and demonstration level. 3) The gap between need-level and demonstration-level appeared in all items(p<.05) and categories(p<.001). Although the gap was relatively low, it indicates that it is essential to plan a developmemt program for all nursing management competencies for military hospital head nurses. 4) There were significant differences in the gap between need-level and demonstration-level according to specific characteristics of the subjects. The gap did not appear in many categories on the individual dimension where the number of nursing staff was more than 10, a major grade, ICU head nurse or for head nurses having a long career. 5) Need-level and demonstration-level showed a difference according to specific characteristics of the subjects, because need-level and demonstration-level were higher where the number of nursing staff was more than 10, a major grade, and for ICU or Medical ward head nurses. The categories which showed need-level difference and demonstration-level differences according to specific characteristics of the subjects existed almostly completely in the group and organization dimension. Gap-level differences according to the number of hospital bed existed in only two categories. 6) The general causes of the gap were indicated to be 'Knowledge/ skill/ experience deficit', 'Limitation of rules and systems/ Inappropriate organizational environment' for most items, categories, and dimensions. The results of this study indicate that extensive competency developing strategies must be developed, because a gap was found in all items and categories. Specially, there is a need to concentrate attention on competencies in the group and organizational dimension which had a wider gap level. And it is important to take an individual approach according to the cause for each gap. In order to produce effective competency developing strategies, top managers must have sinsights into the importance of nursing staff development and nursing officer's efforts to develop themselves must be achieved. Further multi-dimensional(education, personnel-policy, nursing/ organizational environment) solutions to the gap must be developed and utilized.
The purpose of this study was to find out criteria for classifying fashion brand from consumer point of view in order to develop strategy of fashion brands and to manage brand effectively and systematically, and to suggest theoretical frame for application of these criteria. Survey was used as a research method. Subject were 422 age of 20-30 women living in and near Seoul. Questionnaires was developed to based on 37 classification criteria, and SPSS package program were used to analyze data. The results of this study were as follows: First, factor analysis considering 37 classification criteria identified 8 factors as classification criteria. They were the level of brand form, the level of product concept, the level of management item, the level of brand sales ability, the level of customer management, the level of brand advertizing and awareness, the level of brand value, the level of product lead ability. Second, the most important factor was the level of customer management, but comparatively factor of the level of brand sales ability the level of brand value was less important. Third, consumer cognized difference of criteria for classifying fashion brands. And the level of product lead ability was the most important factor in women's wear category and the level of brand form was in general casual wear category.
