365 nm 파장대역 고투과율 실리콘 수지 TIR 렌즈 및 고지향성 노광기 광원모듈 제작 (Fabrication of 365 nm Wavelength High Transmittance Silicone Resin TIR Lens and High Directivity Light Source Module for Exposure System)

  • A high directivity TIR (total internal reflection) lens in the UV-A region was designed using a silicone resin, and a UV light source module with a maximum irradiation density of $150mW/cm^2$ was fabricated. The beam angle of the TIR lens was designed to be $8.04^{\circ}$ and the maximum diameter of the TIR lens was Ø13.5. A silicone resin having a UV transmittance of 93% and a refractive index of 1.4 at a wavelength of 365 nm was used, and the lens was manufactured using an aluminum mold, from which silicone could be easily released. The module was fabricated in a metal printed circuit board of COB (chip on board) type using a $0.75{\times}0.75mm^2$ UV chip. A jig was used to adjust the focal length between lens and chip and to fix the position of the lens. The optical characteristics such as illumination distributions of the lens and module were designed using 'LightTools' optical simulation software. The heat dissipation system was designed to use a forced-air cooling method using a heat-sink and fan.

평면-비구면 2×2 fly-eye 렌즈형태의 2차 렌즈를 사용한 고효율의 좁은 배광각을 갖는 MR-16 램프 시리즈 제작 및 성능평가 (Fabrication and Performance Evaluation of MR-16 Lamp Series with Narrow Angular Distribution of Luminous Intensity Using an Aspherical Planar-convex 2×2 Fly-eye Lens Type)

  • 본 연구에서는 간편하고 빠른 사출성형을 위하여 한쪽이 평면인 비구면 형상을 갖는 단일 fly-eye 렌즈형태의 2차 렌즈를 사용하는 MR-16 램프 시리즈의 설계를 보고하고자 한다. 인테리어 조명용 할로겐 램프를 대체하기 위해 효율이 높고 좁은 배광각을 갖도록 MR-16 램프용 광학계를 설계하여 이를 제작하고 성능을 확인하였다. 광학설계용 소프트웨어는 ORA사의 CODE V와 LightTools를 사용하였다. 그 결과, 제작된 MR-16 램프의 배광각은 $22.4^{\circ}$, $31.1^{\circ}$, $37.3^{\circ}$, $59.9^{\circ}$였으며, 광효율은 각각 76.5 lm/W, 75.2 lm/W, 72.0 lm/W, 77.8 lm/W 이고, 복사 균제도 81%에서 발산각은 $3^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $22^{\circ}$, $49^{\circ}$이다. 그리고 제작된 MR-16 램프에 확산시트를 2차 렌즈와 LED사이에 확산 시트를 적용하여 황색 띠를 제거한 후의 배광각은 각각 $20.8^{\circ}$, $31.5^{\circ}$, $37.8^{\circ}$, $68.7^{\circ}$로 측정되었다. 실험적으로 2차 렌즈를 같은 렌즈 4개를 붙이는 형식으로 fly-eye 형태로 함으로써 설계 및 제작이 용이하며 배광각과 균일한 조도 분포를 갖는데 있어서 문제가 없다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • LCD-BLU (Back Light Unit) is one of kernel parts of LCD unit. The fabrication method of a 3-D micro mold patterned with micro-lenses for the LGP (Light Guiding Plate), one of the most important parts of LCD-BLU, was presented. Instead of dot pattern made by etching, 3-D optical pattern design with $50{\mu}m$ micro-lens was applied in the present study. The micro-lens pattern fabricated by modified LiGA with thermal reflow process was applied to the optical design of LGP. The positive micro-lens patterned injection mold with different aspect ratios (i.e. 0.3 and 0.4) was fabricated with modified LiGA with thermal reflow process. The brightness of LCD-BLU increased as aspect ratio of micro-lens increased.

소형 복사방식 순차제조 비구면 렌즈 제조시스템 개발 (Development of a Small Radiant Sequential Production System for Aspheric Lens)

  • The fabrication method of aspheric lens is changed from machining to press molding so as to improve the productivity. In the case of the press molding method, the temperature control of the molding die is most impotent, because the temperature of each molding die determines the quality of lens. But any practical method for direct measuring of the lens temperature and the die internal temperature is yet unknown. Besides, in the case of the press molding system in which the heating and pressing and cooing of a die is done at one work station, the cycle time for the system is yet too long. The paper shows an improved structure of radiant sequential system in which the heating and pressing and cooing of dies is done at individual work station so as to cut down the cycle time. To know the die internal temperature, numerical results are given using ANSYS. An experimental radiant sequential system is developed and tested. Finally, the Taguchi method is applied in order to optimize the setting conditions of individual work station.

  • A total internal reflection (TIR) linear lens of size $190(W){\times}5(D){\times}2.1(H)mm^3$ has a directivity of $25^{\circ}$ and was made of a polydimethysiloxane (PDMS) silicone resin with a refractive index of 1.4 and a transmittance of 93% at 365 nm UV wavelength. A light source with a size of $190{\times}25.5mm^2$ was fabricated by installing a TIR linear lens on a chip on board (COB) type LED module mounted with a $1.1{\times}1.1mm^2$ size UV LED. The optical characteristics of the light source showed a maximum irradiation density of $3,840mW/cm^2$ at a working distance of 5 mm and a high uniformity of 91.6% over a $150{\times}25mm^2$ irradiation area. The thermal characteristics of the light source were measured at a supply current of 500 mA. The saturation temperature was reached after 30 min of operation, and measured to be $95^{\circ}C$.

  • The demand fer small and high-capacity optical data storage devices has rapidly increased. The areal density of optical disk is increased by using higher numerical aperture objective lens and shorter wavelength source. A wafer-scale stacked micro objective lens with a numerical aperture of 0.85 and a focal length of 0.467mm for the 405nm blue- violet laser was designed and fabricated. A diffractive optical element (DOE) was used to compensate the spherical aberration of the objective lens. Among the various fabrication methods for micro DOE, the UV-replication process is more suitable fur mass-production. In this study, an 8-stepped DOE pattern as a master was fabricated by photolithography and reactive ion etching process. A flexible mold was fabricated for improving the releasing properties and shape accuracy in UV-replication process. In the replication process, the effects of exposing time and applied pressure on the replication quality were analyzed. Finally, the surface profiles of master, mold and molded pattern were measured by optical scanning profiler. The geometrical deviation between the master and the molded DOE was less than $0.1{\mu}m$. The diffraction efficiency of the molded DOE was measured by DOE efficiency measurement system which consists of laser source, sample holder, aperture and optical power meter, and the measured value was $84.5\%$.

  • Estimation and collection of the suitable recording materials are important for the fabrication of the holographic optical elements. In this study, silver halide emulsion, photoresist and dichromated gelatin are selected as a recording materials to investigate the properties and processing methods. Some parameters which affect the diffraction efficiencies of the holographic optical elements (HOE) are presented. As an example of the HOE, the results of design and the fabrication method of the off axis 12P hologram lens are also presented.

LCD 표면의 렌즈 스캔 얼룩 검출 기법 (Detection of Lens Scan Alluk on LCD Surface)

  • We have proposed a novel algorithm for detecting scan alluk on the surface of a TFT-LCD device that is generated by non-uniform exposure during fabrication. The scan alluk is known to have similar intensity values on paths that are determined by the shape of lens for light exposure. Based on the observation, the proposed algorithm inspects the uniformity on the paths using 1D projection image of 2D LCD image and 2D backprojection image of the 1D image. We have shown the usefullness of the proposed method by theoretical analysis and experimental results.

광소자용 미소렌즈 제작을 위한 GaAs/AlGaAs계 액상식각 및 에피택시 (LPE meltaback-etch and re-epitaxy of GaAs/AlGaAs for optical micro-lenses fabrication)

  • A new etching technique of meltback was investigated for GaAs lensed optical devices with selective windows opending in the LPE (liquid phase epitaxy) system. In the meltback process, the etch depth and the etch shape were controlled by the degree of under-saturation, etch time and other parameters. A GaAs/AlGaAs DH layer was grown on the selectively etched hemispherical well for optical device application such as lensed surface emitting LED. The regrowth process were related with the coolin grate and the well to well spacing. A novel surface emitting LED with hemispherical AlGaAs lens was fabricated using the meltbakc and regrowth as the key process for AlaAs lens array. The light emitting efficiency of the LED was upto three times higher than the similar structure LED without lens. The meltback and regrowth technique was applicable to manufacture the optical device in LPE.
