An Evolutionary Optimized Algorithm Approach to Compensate the Non-linearity in Linear Variable Displacement Transducer Characteristics

  • Linearization of transducer characteristic plays a vital role in electronic instrumentation because all transducers have outputs nonlinearly related to the physical variables they sense. If the transducer output is nonlinear, it will produce a whole assortment of problems. Transducers rarely possess a perfectly linear transfer characteristic, but always have some degree of non-linearity over their range of operation. Attempts have been made by many researchers to increase the range of linearity of transducers. This paper presents a method to compensate nonlinearity of Linear Variable Displacement Transducer (LVDT) based on Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) method, Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) trained by Genetic Algorithm (GA). Because of the mechanism structure, LVDT often exhibit inherent nonlinear input-output characteristics. The best approximation capability of optimized ANN technique is beneficial to this. The use of this proposed method is demonstrated through computer simulation with the experimental data of two different LVDTs. The results reveal that the proposed method compensated the presence of nonlinearity in the displacement transducer with very low training time, lowest Mean Square Error (MSE) value and better linearity. This research work involves less computational complexity and it behaves a good performance for nonlinearity compensation for LVDT and has good application prospect.

한국제조기업의 생산전략과 생산혁신활동 (Manufacturing strategy and change programs of Korean firms)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the links between manufacturing strategy and change programs of manufacturing firms in Korea. The nature of our analysis is more descriptive than normative or confirmative. First, we investigate the linkage between manufacturing strategy, manufacturing capability, change programs and performance measurement systems. Secondly, we intend to explore an empirical typology of manufacturing strategy and change programs. The initial findings of the study are as follows: Linkage between manufacturing strategy and change programs of manufacturing firms was not apparent. Flexibility as a strategic priority is positively related to the innovative change programs. There are two distinctive strategies of manufacturing firms in Korea, namely, quality strategy and balanced strategy. We identified three types of change programs, which are incremental change, administrative innovation, and process innovation. Incremental change group has represented low factor score in the change program dimensions. The firms in administrative innovation group mainly depend on information systems and business reengineering. Korean manufacturing firms seem to pursue process improvement by trying simultaneously incremental change in the process, managerial process improvement, and a little bit of innovative change. Performance variable utilization of the firms are not significantly different along with manufacturing strategies and change programs. We found, however, learning and improvement performance dimension is significantly related to flexibility variables. Process innovation group marked high score in usage of learning and improvement indices. The findings of this study seem to have various implications on realigning the manufacturing strategy, change programs, and performance systems in Korean firms.

디스크립터 자동 할당을 위한 저자키워드의 재분류에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study on the Reclassification of Author Keywords for Automatic Assignment of Descriptors)

  • 본 연구는 국내 주요 학술 DB의 검색서비스에서 제공되고 있는 저자키워드(비통제키워드)의 재분류를 통하여 디스크립터(통제키워드)를 자동 할당할 수 있는 가능성을 모색하였다. 먼저 기계학습에 기반한 주요 분류기들의 특성을 비교하는 실험을 수행하여 재분류를 위한 최적 분류기와 파라미터를 선정하였다. 다음으로, 국내 독서 분야 학술지 논문들에 부여된 저자키워드를 학습한 결과에 따라 해당 논문들을 재분류함으로써 키워드를 추가로 할당하는 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 이러한 재분류 결과에 따라 새롭게 추가된 문헌들에 대하여 통제키워드인 디스크립터와 마찬가지로 동일 주제의 논문들을 모아주는 어휘통제 효과가 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 저자키워드의 재분류를 통하여 디스크립터를 자동 할당하는 효과를 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다.

학습문서의 개수에 따른 편차기반 분류방법의 분류 정확도 (Classification Accuracy by Deviation-based Classification Method with the Number of Training Documents)

  • 일반적으로 자동분류는 학습문서의 개수에 영향을 받는다고 알려져 있지만 실제로 학습문서의 수가 텍스트 자동분류에 어떻게 영향을 주는지 입증한 연구는 거의 없었다. 본 연구에서는 학습문서 수가 자동분류에 어떤 영향을 주는지 알아보기 위해 최근에 개발된 편차기반 분류방법을 중심으로 다른 분류 알고리즘과 비교하는데 초점을 두었다. 실험결과, 편차기반 분류모델은 학습문서의 수가 총 21개(7개 장르)인 상황에서 정확도가 0.8로 베이지안이나 지지벡터기계보다 우수하게 나타났다. 이것은 편차기반 분류모델이 장르내의 주제정보를 이용하여 학습하기 때문에 학습문서의 수가 적더라도 다른 학습방법보다 좋은 자질 선택 능력을 갖는다는 것을 입증한 것이다.

Computational Thinking 역량에 대한 학습자 평가를 위한 스크래치 코드 분석 (Analysis of Scratch code for Student Assessment about Computational Thinking Capability)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 Computational Thinking(CT) 교육에서의 학습자 평가를 위한 방안으로 학습자가 제작한 프로젝트의 코드를 분석하는 방법을 제안한다. 최근 초중등 SW교육에서는 블록형 프로그래밍 도구를 활용한 교육이 이루지고 있으므로, 학생들의 산출물인 스크래치 프로젝트의 코드를 분석하여 CT 개념 습득과 학습자의 수준을 평가하는 방안을 모색하였다. 초보학습자 45명의 프로젝트를 분석한 결과 초보학습자들의 잘못된 습관에 대한 패턴이 나타났으며 CT 개념 학습을 코드의 패턴에 의해 평가할 수 있다는 것을 검증하였다. 학습자의 수준이 높을수록 논리적 사고, 동기화, 플로우 제어, 데이터 표현의 요소 점수가 높게 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 초중등 SW 교육에서 CT 개념 학습에 대한 평가를 위해 활용할 수 있다.

  • 초등학교 논설문 쓰기 교수-학습에서 기존의 텍스트 중심의 교수-학습에서 탈피하여 아동으로 하여금 직접적이고 적극적인 행동을 유발할 수 있는 교수-학습이 가능하게 하기 위해서 멀티미디어 CAI 타이틀을 제작하였다. 학습자 중심의 학습이 일어나게 하고 학습자의 오류에 대해서 즉시 피드백하여 교정이 가능하도록 함으로써 글쓰기 능력을 향상시키고 컴퓨터의 활용 능력을 기르도록 한다. 연규 내용은 다음과 같다. 1. 초등학교 4, 5, 6 학년 논술 제재 학습 요소를 추출하고 이에 맞는 수준별 과정안을 수립한다. 2 논술 능력 향상을 위하 수준별 멀티미디어 CAI 타이틀을 설계하고 구현한다. 3. 개발된 CAI 타이틀의 일반화를 위한 교수-학습 모형을 모색하고 그 결과를 검증한다.

Maximum Torque Control of an IPMSM Drive Using an Adaptive Learning Fuzzy-Neural Network

  • The interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) has been widely used in electric vehicle applications due to its excellent power to weigh ratio. This paper proposes the maximum torque control of an IPMSM drive using an adaptive learning (AL) fuzzy neural network (FNN) and an artificial neural network (ANN). This control method is applicable over the entire speed range while taking into consideration the limits of the inverter's rated current and voltage. This maximum torque control is an executed control through an optimal d-axis current that is calculated according to the operating conditions. This paper proposes a novel technique for the high performance speed control of an IPMSM using AL-FNN and ANN. The AL-FNN is a control algorithm that is a combination of adaptive control and a FNN. This control algorithm has a powerful numerical processing capability and a high adaptability. In addition, this paper proposes the speed control of an IPMSM using an AL-FNN, the estimation of speed using an ANN and a maximum torque control using the optimal d-axis current according to the operating conditions. The proposed control algorithm is applied to an IPMSM drive system. This paper demonstrates the validity of the proposed algorithms through result analysis based on experiments under various operating conditions.

  • The voting algorithm for action selection performs self-improvement by Reinforcement learning algorithm in the dynamic environment. The proposed voting algorithm improves the navigation of the robot by adapting the eligibility of the behaviors and determining the Command Set Generator (CGS). The Navigator that using a proposed voting algorithm corresponds to the CGS for giving the weight values and taking the reward values. It is necessary to decide which Command Set control the mobile robot at given time and to select among the candidate actions. The Command Set was learnt online by means as Q-learning. Action Selector compares Q-values of Navigator with Heterogeneous behaviors. Finally, real-world experimentation was carried out. Results show the good performance for the selection on command set as well as the convergence of Q-value.

열린수학교육의 방향 탐색 (Searching for the Directions of Open Mathematics Education)

  • This study aims to reflect the origin and the meaning of open education and to derive pedagogical principles for open mathematics education. Open education originates from Socrates who was the founder of discovery learning and has been developed by Locke, Rousseau, Froebel, Montessori, Dewey, Piaget, and so on. Thus open education is based on Humanism and Piaget's psychology. The aim of open education consists in developing potentials of children. The characteristics of open education can be summarized as follows: open curriculum, individualized instruction, diverse group organization and various instruction models, rich educational environment, and cooperative interaction based on open human relations. After considering the aims and the characteristics of open education, this study tries to suggest the aims and the directions for open mathematics education according to the philosophy of open education. The aim of open mathematics education is to develop mathematical potentials of children and to foster their mathematical appreciative view. In order to realize the aim, this study suggests five pedagogical principles. Firstly, the mathematical knowledge of children should be integrated by structurizing. Secondly, exploration activities for all kinds of real and concrete situations should be starting points of mathematics learning for the children. Thirdly, open-ended problem approach can facilitate children's diverse ways of thinking. Fourthly, the mathematics educators should emphasize the social interaction through small-group cooperation. Finally, rich educational environment should be provided by offering concrete and diverse material. In order to make open mathematics education effective, some considerations are required in terms of open mathematics curriculum, integrated construction of textbooks, autonomy of teachers and inquiry into children's mathematical capability.

Case Studies and Derivation of Course Profile in accordance with NCS-based Video Graphics Job

  • This study analyzed with the case analysis of a series of processes from job analysis survey. And results analysis, and academic achievement in order to transform the curriculum of existing courses into the curriculum of NCS-based courses. Also this study analysed of the existing curriculum. Also analyzed the trend of workforce trends and needs of the broadcasting content industry. Through a needs analysis for the industry and alumni and students, video graphics, video editing and video directing were selected. In this paper, it dealt mainly with respect to the video graphics in a dual job. Modeling capability into the unit through a job analysis, animation, effects and lighting were chosen accordingly based introduction of 3D Graphics. Application of 3D Graphics were derived two courses and selected profiles and performance criteria. This training according to the NCS curriculum for students was evaluated based on the student's job was to investigate the learning ability. Academic achievement were the result satisfaction.
