Purpose: This study was a qualitative study to explore and understand the adaptation experiences of hemodialysis among women with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and to develop a substantive theory using the grounded theory method. Methods: Participants were 15 female patients who underwent hemodialysis for ESRD treatment from three general hospitals. The data were collected through in-depth individual interviews. Results: The adaptation experience of participants was emerged as a process of taking care and enduring. There were four adaptation stages as a negative, despair, receptive, and maintenance period in reference to hemodialysis. The causal conditions were a vague expectations of recovery and refusal to undergo hemodialysis. The core phenomenon was that of confinement to dialysis machine. The contextual conditions for this phenomenon were the loss of femininity. They used action/interaction strategies such as transition their life with a focus on hemodialysis, seeking information, and learning how to take care of their body. Through this process, they had a strong will to live or had sustained their life. Conclusion: These results indicate that there is a need for nurses to understand the different steps of adaptation experiences of the given patient population. It is necessary for nurses to support them to lead their life as much normal as possible and improve the adaptation experience of ESRD.
This study aims to investigate how secondary mathematics teachers use mathematics curriculum materials such as textbooks and teachers' guide in planning lessons and for their learning. 24 in-service mathematics teachers participated in surveys and two among them were interviewed. The findings from the data analysis suggest that: a) the teachers actively engaged in decision-making processes of the transition from written curriculum to intended curriculum; and b) the teachers showed a tendency of consulting to the ideas suggested in the curriculum materials for selecting objectives and contents for lessons and the what to assess, not ideas for selecting teaching methods and how to assess. Also, various factors such as students' achievement, participation, interest in mathematics, family environment, and college entrance were identified to influence the teachers' use of the curriculum materials.

We present the method to infer Context-Free Grammars by applying genetic algorithm to the Binary Third-order Recurrent Neural Networks(BTRNN). BTRNN is a multiple-layered architecture of recurrent neural networks, each of which is corresponding to an input symbol, and is combined with external stack. All parameters of BTRNN are represented as binary numbers and each state transition is performed with any stack operation simultaneously. We apply Genetic Algorithm to BTRNN chromosomes and obtain the optimal BTRNN inferring context-free grammar of positive and negative input patterns. This proposed method infers BTRNN, which includes the number of its states equal to or less than those of existing methods of Discrete Recurrent Neural Networks, with less examples and less learning trials. Also BTRNN is superior to the recent method of chromosomes representing grammars at recognition time complexity because of performing deterministic state transitions and stack operations at parsing process. If the number of non-terminals is p, the number of terminals q, the length of an input string k, and the max number of BTRNN states m, the parallel processing time is O(k) and the sequential processing time is O(km).
This study evaluated soccer-specific fitness early and late season to check the conditioning status of K3 league soccer players. Evaluation factors included body composition, agility, quickness, endurance and isokinetic limb muscle strength. As a result, the factors that showed improvement in the late season were skeletal muscle mass, agility and quickness, and body composition, endurance and isokinetic limb muscle strength were not different from each other. The factors that showed improvement in the second half of the season are thought to be due to the learning effect of repetitive training, competition participation during the season. Lastly, endurance and lower extremity strength did not show improvement in the second half of the season due to the fact that no specific training was performed during the season. Taken together, it is necessary to periodically check the fitness status of athletes to develop and apply a fitness training program suitable for competition, transition and preparation period.

Stable-state behaviors of asynchronous sequential machines represented as finite state machines can be corrected by feedback control schemes. In this paper, we propose a state feedback control scheme for input/state asynchronous machines with uncertain transitions. The considered asynchronous machine is deterministic, but its state transition function is partially known due to model uncertainty or inner logic errors. The control objective is to compensate the behavior of the closed-loop system so that it matches a sub-behavior of a prescribed model despite uncertain transitions. Furthermore, during the execution of corrective action, the controller reflects the exact knowledge of transitions into the next step, i.e., the range of the behavior of the closed-loop system can be enlarged through learning. The design procedure for the proposed controller is described in a case study.
Students' alternative concepts of evolution are similar to misconcepts and disputes which scientists had in science history. The aims of this study are to analyze the elementary children's concept in evolution based on science history. Lee (2004)'s two tests were applied to 6th grade to investigate the children's evolution concepts and genetic concepts related to the historical development of the evolution concepts. The test results were analyzed in accordance with 4 stages of science history based on Lee (2004)'s method. These stages are divided to stage 1 (Before Lamarck), stage 2 (Lamarck), stage 3 (Darwin), stage 4 (After Darwin). The major results are as follows. Most of elementary school children are fixed to the stage 2. They usually do not show the consistency of evolution concepts in the three dimensional aspects such as mechanism, time, and subjects. Many children do not have concrete meaning of gene, inheritance, sexual reproduction, mutation and could not connect these concetps and process of evolution. Also, they believe the inheritance of acquired traits and spontaneous generation. Therefore it is confirmed that they still have similar misconcepts and disputes which scientists had in transition time between stage 2 and 3 and most of children already have strong Lamarckian thought acquired from daily life experience before learning about natural selection and evolution.

The technological advances such as communication, sensor, and artificial intelligence lead smart factory construction. Smart factory aims at efficient process control by utilizing data from the existing automation process and intelligence technology such as machine learning. As a result of constructing smart factory, productivity increases, but costs increase. Therefore, small companies try to make a step-by-step transition from existing process to smart factory. In this paper, we have proposed a remote control system that support data collection, monitoring, and control for manufacturing equipment to support the construction of CNC cutting machine based small-scale smart factory. We have proposed the structure and design of the proposed system and efficient sensing data transmission scheme. To check the feasibility, the system was implemented for CNC cutting machine and functionality verification was performed. For performance evaluation, the web page access time was measured. The results means that the implemented system is available level.

This study is designed to see the characteristics of elementary students' arithmetic error patterns and error rates by going up grades and to draw some implications for effective instruction. For this, 580 elementary students of grade 3-6 are tested with the same subtraction, multiplication and division problems. Their errors are analyzed by the frame of arithmetic error types this study sets. As a result of analysis, it turns out that the children's performance in arithmetic get well as their grades go up and the first learning year of any kind of arithmetic procedures has the largest improvement in arithmetic performance. It is concluded that some arithmetic errors need teachers' caution, but we fortunately find that children's errors are not so seriously systematic and sticky that they can be easily corrected by proper intervention. Finally, several instructional strategies for arithmetic procedures are suggested.
Objectives : A transition course of 'Introduction to Clinical Korean Medicine' was developed to meet the demands for better preparation for clinical application of Korean Medicine within the curriculum. A Korean Medical Classics curriculum reflecting such demands was newly designed. Methods : Based on the 'Introduction to Clinical Medicine(ICM)' course of the Medical School curriculum that follows the medical education guideline, the 'Introduction to Clinical Korean Medicine(ICKM)' course was designed and developed. The role of Korean Medical Classics was suggested in the process. Results : In the following course, Korean Medical diagnosis, diagnostics, patient intake methods reflecting the Korean Medical diagnostic system, clinical skills, basic skills, treatment planning, patient education, etc. are included. Faculty members of the basic sectors of the Korean Medical school will participate in this curriculum, of which a head will be appointed to overlook the curriculum. In the case of Korean Medical Classics, previous learning outcomes need to be reorganized based on clinical expression while clinical case studies need to be added to course material. A more active approach utilizing new pedagogic strategies and teaching methods should be taken. Conclusions : The Korean Medical Classics curriculum could effectively take on the introductory role to clinical Korean Medicine, successfully strengthening the connection between the basic and clinical Korean Medicine to improve learners' satisfaction.
