약학 실무실습교육에서의 효과적인 교수법 (Effective Teaching Skills in Pharmacy Practice Education)

  • Experiential education is a core curriculum of 6-year pharmacy education. Practicing pharmacists lie at the heart of experiential education serving as preceptors for undergraduate pharmacy students during experiential education. Preceptors are, however, confronted with a challenge of caring for patients and teaching students at the same time in a time-constrained environment. To improve the effectiveness and outcomes of experiential education, practicing pharmacists are required to demonstrate educational competence. Even small teaching moments can provide students with valuable learning opportunities that they could not have from on their own. Thus, it is vital to provide education and training for preceptors to advance their teaching skills. This article will describe practical and effective teaching skills that preceptors could adopt in the experiential education for pharmacy students. It is important that preceptors should use different teaching skills for different learners, according to their level of experience and knowledge, learning styles and needs, as well as the type of the practice. Therefore, possessing diverse teaching skills provides flexibility to adapt teaching to each student's learning levels and needs, and to the charateristics of the practice environment. Preceptors' level of confidence and comfort in using teaching skills can be enhanced through continuous practice and training, which consequently leads to the improved effectiveness of experiential education and student's satisfaction with the education.

MULTIDIMENSIONAL TEACHING: THOUGHTFUL WAYS OF CREATING A FLIPPED CLASSROOM

  • The "flipped" or "inverted" classroom, in which students study lecture-type material at home and do their "homework" in the classroom, has been the subject of research, particularly in the area of student achievement. Yet Bishop and Verleger (2013) state the need for an underlying theory to the practice. The purpose of this paper is to explore "multidimensional teaching," the authors' extension of the two-dimensional "flipped" classroom concept in light of Cambourne's (1995) Conditions for Learning. One author's math class for pre-service teachers was taught in two styles, a more traditional lecture format and in the \inverted" format. Students in the "flipped" format achieved at a higher level. Moreover, students' open-ended comments reveal that Cambourne's Conditions for Learning were implicit to the teaching practice. The authors suggest that practitioners of this style of teaching should deliberately develop student-centered practices, such as those mentioned by Cambourne, in order to retain the power that this teaching style currently has.

초등학교 과학 영재들의 교과 내용 인식과 학습 양식 (Learning Styles and Perceptions on Subject Matter Content by Science Gifted Elementary Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교 과학 영재들의 학교교육 과정의 난이도와 흥미, 학습에 도움이 되는 수업 활동, 각 교과에서 선호하는 학습 양식과 그룹 활동을 알아보는데 있다. 연구를 위한 자료 수집은 전남대학교 과학영재교육원 초등 과학반과 초등수학반 54명, 광주광역시 초등영재교육원 95명, 보통 학생 98명을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 연구 결과 집단 간에 학교 교과 내용의 난이도에 대한 반응에서 차이가 있었다($X^2(4)=33.180$, p<.001). 교과 내용에 대한 관심과 흥미는 세 집단에서 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나 전체 학생의 34.6%가 '흥미 없다'고 답하였다. 교과 내용에 대한 중요도 인식은 영재들에서 비교적 낮게($X^2(4)=12.443$, p<.05) 나타났다. 수업 내용과 수업 방법에 대한 가치 비교에서는 각 집단별 유의한 차이($X^2(4)=9.112$, p<.06)가 있었는데 영재들은 수업의 내용보다 방법을 더 중요하게 생각하였다. 또한 각 교과목에 대한 학습 양식에서도 영재들은 실험, 과제 및 작품 발표, 사물 가지고 활동하기 등을 통해 보다 많은 도움을 받는다. 교과목에 따른 학습 양식 선호도 조사 결과 사회, 과학, 수학에서 영재들은 '자신의 진도에 따라 배우는 것'을 선호하였다. 연구 결과에 기초하여 학교 교육 과정을 기초로 한 차별화된 교육 과정의 도입이 제언되었다.

  • 21세기 정보시대에는 학생들이 자유로운 정보 탐색이나 수집과 같은 활동을 통하여 자신의 학습 활동을 진행시켜 나갈 수 있는 능력을 길러주는 교육이 필요하다. 이러한 자기 주도적 학습 능력을 갖는 인재를 양 성하기 위한 방법의 하나로 웹은 다양한 형태의 자료를 학습자 주도적으로 검색할 수 있고 상호작용을 촉진시킬 수 있는 많은 장점을 가지고 있다. 한편, 실과 교육의 특성상 가장 효과적인 교수 방법은 직접 체험 학습을 하는 것이나 비용, 환경 여건, 안전도, 시간을 고려해 볼 때 항상 직접 체험학습 환경을 제공해 주기는 어렵다. 이러한 제한점이 많은 실과 단원에 대하여 직접 체험 환경과 가깝고 자가 주도적 학습을 지원하는 형태의 웹 코스웨어를 개발하여 이러한 제한점을 보완한다면 실과교육의 학습 효과를 높일 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 시간 장소 공간의 제약으로 많은 어려움이 있는 7차 교육과정 초등학교 실과 6학 년 '동물 기르기' 단원 중심으로 웹 코스웨어를 설계 개발하고 수업에 간단히 적용해보았다. 프로그램 적용 및 평가에 대한 심도 있는 연구는 후속연구에서 진행하기로 한다.

전류 개념 변화를 위한 순환학습의 효과 (The Effects of Learning Cycle on Changing the Students' Conceptions of Electric Current)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the instructional model and teaching material to change the middle school students'conceptions of electric current into the scientific ones and to investigate the effects of the model in actual classrooms. We identified the students' ideas and their misunderstanding about the concept of eIectic current through reviewing the literatures and our in this study. Based on the above results, we developed the instructional model and designed the teaching sequence and prepare the learning materials about the unit of the electric current in middle school Our instructional model was based on 'learning cycle' developed by Lawson, but the new stage called "exploration through qualitative questions" to elicit the students' own conceptions was inserted to it. To investigate the effects or the new teaching model, the pre- and post-test using the POE type were administered to experimental group(52 students) taught with learning cycles and control group(52 students) taught with traditional styles. The results are as follows; 1) The rates of correct. predictions was varying according to the kinds of problems. And the rates of the correct. reasons of their predictions were lower than those of the predictions. 2) The mean scores of the post-test of both groups were significantly higher than those of the pre-test. We could not find statistically significant difference in theme an score between experimental group and control group after implementation of the model. But the experimental group gained higher scores than those of the control group on two problem. Therefore, although we cannot show the prominent effects of our teaching model based on learning cycles, there are some effects of our model on changing the middle school students' conceptions of electric current.

투약에 대한 흥미도와 약물계산역량 간의 관계에서 약물계산자신감의 매개효과: Kolb의 학습양식유형을 적용하여 (The Mediating Effect of Drug Calculation Confidence in the Relationship between Interest in Medication and Drug Calculation Competency)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of confidence for drug calculation in the relationship between interest in medication and drug calculation competency using learning style. Methods: Participants in this study were 421 nursing students from Busan and Kyungnam province. The scales of learning style, interest in medication, importance of perception, confidence for drug calculation, and drug calculation competency for nursing students were used in this study. Descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis. Results: Learning styles of the participants were diverger 19.0%, accommodator 30.9%, converger 21.1%, and assimilator 29.0%. The drug dose calculation competency of participants was relatively low with a mean score 66.73. There were significant positive correlations among drug dose calculation competency, interest in medication (r=.31, p<.001), and confidence for drug calculation (r=.44, p<.001). Confidence for drug calculation was a moderator between interests in medication and drug calculation competency. Conclusion: Based on the result of this study, confidence for drug calculation promoting strategy such as medication reconciliation and various learning technology for improving drug calculation competency are needed.

자기평가가 학습자의 수학 학습 성향에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-reported Evaluation on Students' Mathematics Learning Styles)

  • 본 연구에서 개발한 자기평가 도구는 학습자 스스로 평가할 세부 내용을 결정하여 자신의 학습을 점검하고 평가할 수 있으며, 자기평가 결과를 피드백을 받을 수 있도록 하였다. 자기평가를 활용한 학습이 학습자의 수학 학습 성향에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지 알아보기 위해 사전 사후 검사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과 자기평가가 수학학습 자신감을 향상시키며, 수학학습 자기 전략을 세우고, 메타인지 능력 신장에도 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기평가지의 질적 분석을 한 결과 학생들은 자기평가지를 통해 그 날 배운 내용을 정리하는 인지적 활동과 더불어 학습습관이나 태도, 학습상태를 파악하고 개선하려는 모습을 보였다. 또한 교사는 자기평가지를 통해 개별 질문 및 피드백을 함으로써 학생들과 의사소통할 수 있었다.

의과대학 문제중심학습에서 튜터의 전문분야와 교수경험이 학습결과에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Tutors' Domain and Teaching Expertise on Medical Students' Learning Outcomes in a PBL Environment)

  • This study aimed to investigate the effects of tutors' domain and teaching expertise on learning outcomes in a problem based learning (PBL) environment. Four tutors and 25 first-year medical students participated in this study. Tutors' domain expertise was classified by clinical or non-clinical which is basic medicine and teaching expertise by previous tutoring experiences or not. The results showed a statistically significant difference in achievement depending on the tutors' domain expertise. Students grouped with an experienced clinical tutor attained higher achievement scores than those with an experienced non-clinical tutor, while those with an inexperienced non-clinical tutor attained higher scores than those with both inexperienced clinical tutors and experienced non-clinical tutors. Students with clinical medicine tutors also showed higher satisfaction scores than those with non-clinical medicine tutors. In particular, students grouped with an experienced clinical tutor gained higher satisfaction scores than those with inexperienced non-clinical tutors, and among the inexperienced tutors, students tutored by a clinical tutor showed higher scores than those with a non-clinical tutor. Different intervention styles were also found depending on tutors' domain and teaching expertise. Experienced tutors gradually reduced the tutoring intervention, whereas the novice provided more as the semester proceeded. Moreover, experts with a clinical medicine degree preferred direct teaching, whereas, non-clinical tutors preferred facilitating. Also, experienced tutors in the clinical medicine facilitated critical awareness than the other tutors. These results show the importance of developing a program for novice tutors to improve PBL in medical education.

산학 연계 프로젝트 기반 학습(PBL)을 활용한 AI 패션 큐레이션 실습 교과목 운영 사례 연구 (A Case Study on an Artificial Intelligence Fashion Curation Practice Subject through Industrial-academic Project-based Learning)

  • In the fourth industrial revolution, fashion students are expected to work with various technologies to show creativity. This study aimed to conduct project-based learning(PBL) in collaboration with industry experts to design and operate artificial intelligence(AI) in the practice subject of fashion curation through the industrial academic teaching method. We first looked at teaching methods and strategies incorporating PBL in various academic fields. Next, we analyzed fashion projects and fashion curation services applying AI. Then through the question-and-answer method and by consulting with industry experts, we developed a curriculum for AI fashion curation, applying PBL(fashion market and trend analysis; new styles and time, place, and occasion planning; AI machine learning data set production; curation model development; and evaluation) suitable for the university's educational environment, information technology company conditions, and fashion students. As part of a close cooperation system with the industry, we conducted a 15-week Fashion Project II (Capstone Design) course and evaluated the outcomes and student satisfaction with the course. Students were able to develop new style, and time, place, and occasion categories and to utilize strategies for AI fashion curation services reflecting the unique needs of Millennials and Generation Z. Students showed high satisfaction with the curriculum. Further, it was confirmed that the study successfully applied PBL in class using AI technology in fashion education.

애자일 리더십과 스타트업 조직성과 관계 탐색 : 학습민첩성의 매개효과 (Investigating the Relationship between Agile Leadership and Startup Organizational Performance : Exploring the Mediating Role of Learning Agility)

  • 4차산업혁명의 진전에 따라 스타트업의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있는 시점이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 한국 스타트업의 5년내 생존율이 OECD국가보다 낮은 편이다. 본 연구에서는 스타트업이 지속가능한 성장을 위해서는 조직성과가 무엇보다 중요하다는 전제하에 애자일리더십, 학습민첩성과 스타트업 조직성과의 영향 관계를 분석하였다. 실증분석을 위해 애자일리더십을 독립변수로, 학습민첩성을 매개변수로, 조직성과를 종속변수로 설정하였다. 전국의 스타트업 종업원을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 이중 유효한 197부를 분석의 대상으로 삼았다. 실증분석은 Process Macro 4.2를 활용하였다. 실증분석결과 애자일리더십은 스타트업 조직성과에 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 애자일리더십은 학습민첩성에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으며, 학습민첩성은 스타트업 조직성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 학습민첩성의 매개효과를 분석한 결과 학습민첩성은 애자일리더십과 조직성과간 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 학술적으로는 스타트업의 조직성과를 향상시킬수 있는 다양한 리더십 스타일 중에서 스타트업의 문화에 맞는 애자일리더십의 유용성을 검정한 것이다. 실무적으로는 이러한 애자일리더십이 조직성과에 영향을 직접 미치기도 하지만 스타트업 종업원의 학습민첩성을 통해서도 영향을 미친다는 것이다. 이는 스타트업 종업원들이 지속적으로 학습하고 적응하도록 장려하는 학습 민첩성 문화를 조성함으로써 스타트업은 생존과 성공 가능성을 높일 수 있다는 것이다.
