The elastomeric O-ring is the most-commonly-used seal due to its excellent sealing capacity, and its availability in various costs and sizes; furthermore, its importance has lasted over a long duration. However, a dearth of research exists in Korea regarding the elastomeric O-ring and the corresponding techniques. The constituent parts of elastomeric rubber are important; to determine their properties, the uni-axial tension and equi-biaxial tension need to be tested. Also, the non-linear analysis method reduces the design cost. An O-ring failure causes leaks and vibration. In this paper, foreign objects are used to affect an O-ring and its performance so that all angles of the O-ring design can be considered. This paper presents a solution for the O-ring-failure problem using a finite-element analysis.

A 43-year-old woman with diabetic nephropathy underwent a Tc-99m MAG3 renal scintigraphy for the evaluation of renal function. Posterior images at 60 minutes demonstrated a migration of radiotracer activity beyond the lower pole of the left kidney, which might be incorrectly interpreted as urine leaks. However, the increased activities were moving along the bowel lumens over time. Another ring-like radioactivity was also seen in the suprasplenic region, and increased with time. These radioactivities were in the gastric fundus and gastrointestinal tract and caused by free Tc-99m pertechnetate.

As instances of private information leak increase, taking steps to protect such information becomes a necessity. In this study of public library patrons, we strove for a comprehensive understanding of library usage records to suggest viable solutions for private information safety in public libraries. To this end, we investigated the patrons' understanding of library usage records and determined the relationship between different user characteristics and privacy knowledge or leaks. The results show that a high number of patrons perceived these records as their own private information, but that there was no necessity for legal procedures or consent for the use of these records. Also, even though the understanding of these usage records showed that there was a relationship between the frequency of library visits and leaks of personal information, the correlation was not particularly strong.

For sodium cooling liquid metal reactors during the last 25 years, it was most important to verify the safety of the steam generator, which absolutely requires a water leak detection system with fine sensitivity and response. This study describes the structure and leak classification of the HAMMER (Korea Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor) steam generator, compared with other classifications, and explains the effects of leak development. The requirements and experimental situations for the development of the KALIMER acoustic leak detection system (KADS) which detects micro leaks, not intermediate leaks, are introduced. We proposed four frequency bands, 1∼8kHz, 8∼20kHz, 20∼40kHz and 40∼200kHz, split effectively for analyzing the detected acoustic leak signals obtained from the sodium-water reaction model or water model in the mock-up system.

A simple analytical model of rarefied channel flow is developed to predict the compression ratio in a helical drag pump. If the surface velocity is zero, the model reduces to a capillary leaks. Predictions of our model agree well with the Knudsen's data for capillary leaks in transition flow, in addition to giving a good account of the Knudsen minimum. Also, the present results are compared with experimental data, and good agreement is obtained over the entire pressure range from molecular to slip flow.

The waterproof construction for walls and floor in the underground parking lot in the construction of the apartment buildings have been excluded to the introduction of the waterproof design until now, because of the shorten construction period and the reduced construction costs. The concrete structures are existed to the joints in the vertical or horizontal parts commonly. In case of cracks, there are generated due to behavior by subsidence and external changing temperature environment. The cracks are generated by the frequent water leaks. So, the repair methods of the water leaks are proposed as the quick micro-cement and the polyacrylic resin in this study.

This report describes the successful treatment of spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) with multiple cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks using 10 applications of epidural blood patches (EBP). A forty year old female who suffered with a postural headache was diagnosed as having SIH. On the cisternography, multiple CSF leaks were noted at the thoracic and lumbar area. Her headache was not improved with conservative treatments such as bed rest, hydration and NSAIDS. So, she underwent treatment with EBPs. After 10 applications of site-directed EBPs, her headache was resolved gradually and completely without any complications.

Due to the spread of personal computers and the development of network, the information age has come and a variety of information has been flooded. Accordingly, individuals and companies have been a lot of attention to information security. However personal information leaks have been happening constantly in Korea. Nevertheless, awareness of security of personal information have been treated carelessly in society. In this paper, we will survey foreign awareness of personal information, specific cases for information leaks, and coping methods.

Chyle leaks are uncommon complications after head and neck surgeries. Although uncommon, such a complication is noteworthy mention due to its perplexing diagnosis and management strategies. This scoping review aims to highlight and emphasize the diagnosis and management options proposed in the literature. A comprehensive search was performed in PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases and identified 617 articles that were reduced to 40 studies and reports after applying the eligibility criteria. Although numerous treatment options ranging from simple, conservative measures to invasive surgical procedures have been mentioned for low-output, high-output, and massive leaks, there is no concrete evidence on the best method. Thus, a combination of management options must be customized by case for optimum results.

Lymphatic disorders encompass a broad spectrum of diseases involving the lymphatic system, ranging from traumatic lymphatic leaks to lymphatic malformations. Lymphatic disorders can be categorized into traumatic and non-traumatic disorders according to their etiology. These two categories may be further divided into subgroups depending on the anatomical location of the lymphatic pathology and their association with clinical syndromes. Thoracic duct embolization was a milestone in the field of lymphatic intervention that encouraged the application of percutaneous embolization techniques to treat leaks and reflux disorders in the lymphatic system. Additional access routes for embolization, including retrograde thoracic duct and transhepatic lymphatic access, have also been developed. This article comprehensively reviews a variety of options for the treatment of lymphatic disorders, from conservative management to the most recent embolization techniques.
