  • This study analyzes the effects of the parasitic capacitance of the SiC MOSFET used in the Dual Active Bridge ( DAB) converter and proposes a method for calculating the leakage inductance of the transformer. The DAB converter employs high-frequency switching to achieve high efficiency, high power density, and reliability. MOSFETs possess parasitic capacitance, which induces resonance with the leakage inductance of the transformer during switching operations, resulting in a voltage change delay. This paper discusses the effect of the delay of voltage changes on the DAB converter output and proposes a method to calculate the delay time. This method aims to equalize the delay time to minimize this effect and enhance the accuracy of the leakage inductance calculation of the transformer. The proposed method is validated through experiments and simulations.

  • Leakage vortices formed near blade tip causes an increase of total pressure loss near casing endwall region and as a result, the efficiency of rotor decreases. The reduction of rotor efficiency is related to the size of tip clearance. In this study, the three-dimensional flowfields in an axial flow rotor were calculated with varying tip clearance under various flow rates, and the numerical results were compared with experimental ones. The effects of tip clearance and attack angle on the leakage vortex and overall performance, and the less distributions were investigated through numerical calculations. In this study, tip leakage flow rate and total pressure loss by tip clearance were evaluated using numerical results and aprroximate equations were presented to evaluate the reduction of rotor efficiency by tip leakage flow.

  • We investigated drain leakage current in GaAs power MESFET. The device we studied by 20 simulation has a $1000{\AA}$ thick AlGaAs buffer layer under n-GaAs active layer. The calculation shows that the leakage current through GaAs substrate is significantly reduced by the buffer layer.

  • Field measurement data on water leakage are not readily available and it causes inaccurate assessment of water demand and poor supply planning. In this study, the procedure for leakage detection and unaccounted water calculation is proposed and applied to a city. The city has suffered from the significant amount of leak water and the financial loss as a result. Measurements were made for pressure and flow at 18 locations before and after the repair. Repair of the leakage increased pressure up to $2.0kgf/cm^2$ and saved 17.1% of water supply from distribution reservoirs. Monetary value of annual water savings for the entire city amounts to 1 billion won. It is believed that leakage detection and data analysis conducted in this study will contribute to the change of current practice and to the establishment of better water supply management system.

  • This paper describes on the leakage inductance calculations of superconducting (s/c) tranformer. When s/c transformer quenches, the magnetic energy stored in the leakage inductance dissipates in the form of Joule heating. So, it is highly desired to estimate the leakage inductances of a s/c transformer as it is designed. In this paper, we calculated the leakage inductance of sic transformer, using zeroth and first order model, and the calculated results were compared with the measured ones. It shows that 1st order model is enough to estimate the leakage inductacne of s/c transformer.

  • In this paper, surface temperatures of ZnO arresters as a function of ambient temperatures and leakage currents were experimentally investigated. The variations of the leakage current was below 10 uA, which comes about $4.5\%$ of the normal leakage current. Temperature differences between the ambient and the surface of arresters were not shown until $150\%$ to the normal leakage current, and were remarkable over $200\%$. From the results, we deduced a couple of polynomials which enables the calculation of the leakage current by the measurement of surface temperature. Tests on used arresters have shown the same results as the experimental one. Also, we expect that an arrester diagnosis is possible by measuring the surface temperature of them after more studies on the effect of wind, moisture penetration, and arrester types.

  • Steel containment vessels for nuclear power plants can experience gas leakage due to minute defects such as cracks, corrosion, and aging, leading to gas leakage. A gas leakage model for microchannels is established to elucidate the mechanism underlying gas leakage within microchannels caused by these defects, specifically addressing the issue of unidirectional gas flow. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and the UK R6 method are employed to calculate the gas leakage rate within microchannels. Furthermore, the characteristics of gas flow within microchannels are explored, including the factors affecting the gas leakage rate. Validation of the calculation results is verified experimentally. The results indicate that the gas mass flow rate exhibits a linear decrease with decreasing internal pressure and a non-linear decline as temperature increases. Additionally, the gas mass flow rate demonstrates a negative correlation with the microchannel length but a positive association to its hydraulic diameter. The primary influencing factors on gas leakage rates are hierarchically ranked as follows: pressure difference, microchannel cross-sectional area, temperature, microchannel length, and microchannel hydraulic diameter.

  • The formulation of calculation method for electromagnetic inducing current by aerial power distribution line is established. Nearby telecommunication cables can be induced due to the leakage of neutral current because the neutral line of power distribution is grounded at every 50 m distance. By the existing calculation method, the neutral line is regarded as a shielding conductor and the neutral current roles as an inducing current. So the error range to real measurement value is largely extended because the changing effect of leakage current flowing in the ground is not reflected. The leakage current returns to the power substation through the ground and is cumulated as being closer to the substation. When this practical inducing mechanism is applied, the deviation rate of calculation can be drastically reduced within about 100 % range compared to 1000 % of the exsiting method.

  • The important point of MPI is the analysis of leakage field in the defective regions. The analysis of leakage field depends on many factors such like geometry and character of defect. In general the calculation of magnetic leakage fields arising from such defects presents an extremely complicated mathematical problem and is practically insoluable, since the inhomogeneities have complex geometrical shapes and may differ in physical nature. Therefore, this paper describes Hall probe measurements of residual leakage field around artificial flaws in alloy steel bar, and shows how the results to recent developments in 2D dipole and analytic models of the magnetic field defect interaction.
