In this paper, LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) based on H$\_$$\infty$/ controller for a lire of sight (LOS) stabilization system. It shows that the proposed controller has more excellent stabilization performance than that of the conventional PI-Lead controller. An H$\_$$\infty$/ control has been also applied to the system for reducing modeling errors and the settling time of the system. The LMI-based H$\_$$\infty$/ controller design is more practical in view of reducing a run-time than Riccati-based H$\_$$\infty$/ controller. This H$\_$$\infty$/ controller is available not only to decrease the gain in PI-Lead control, but also to compensate the identifications for the various uncertain parameters. Therefore, this paper, shows that the proposed LMI-based H$\_$$\infty$/ controller had good disturbance attenuation and reference input tracking performance compared with the control performance of the conventional controller under any real disturbances.

In this paper, a longitudinal control of the lead vehicle for a platoon in IVHS Regulation Layer is proposed. The backstepping method has been used for the controller design. This method has an advantage in that its stability need not be proven since the controller is designed based on the Lyapunov Function. The control object is that the lead vehicle tracks a reference velocity and maintains a safe distance between the inter-platoons while the followers are keeping the speed of the lead vehicle of a platoon. The coordinate of system is transformed to a new coordinate system for its convenience to design controller. The new coordinate system is composed of error and new error variable. The error is the difference between the safe distance and the actual distance of inter-platoons. A new error variable is the difference between the velocity of vehicle and the estimated state of a system operated by the virtual input. The Lyapunov function is obtained based on the variables of new coordinate system. In the computer simulation, several cases have been studied such as when the lead vehicle is tracking the optimal speed. or a lead vehicle of the following platoon tracks the velocity of the previous platoon while maintaining a safe distance. Also a nonlinear engine time constant case has been investigated. All the simulation results show that the designed controller satisfies the control object sufficiently.

There are a lot of methods available in designing PID(Proportional-Integral-Derivative) and Lead/Lag controllers in the industrial field of technology because of their useful advantages such as simplicity and robustness. In an early stage of development process, a computational simulation approach is a very efficient tool for the designs of the controllers. Thus, in this paper we propose a cost-effective, and practically efficient. The PID and Lead/Lag controllers. To show the effectiveness of the proposed Lead/Lag controller, we compare and contrast of the simulation results of each controller with the Matlab simulator. Although we have only considered the DC motors for the controllers, but it could be extended in future developments to more complex plants. As a result, the proposed frameworks could be used to solve industrial problems such as a reduction in development cycle time and minimizing system errors.
This paper proposes a controller design method for suppressing the resonance generated in the slave motor in the middle and low speed operation range, according to the load and parameter differences between two motors, during parallel operation using the master and slave method that controls two surface permanent magnet synchronous motors connected in parallel by a single inverter. The proposed resonance suppression controller is directly obtained by analyzing the resonance characteristics, using the lead controller method. Therefore, it is possible to fundamentally reduce trial and error to set the controller gain. In addition, because the proposed resonance suppression controller was designed as a lead controller, the stability region of the system increased owing to the added zero point, making the system robust with respect to parametric variations. Simulations and experiments confirmed the usefulness of the proposed method and the system's robustness with respect to parametric variations.

In SIL-based NFR servo systems, the residual error and the overshoot that are occurred in the process of the modes-witching servo which consists of approach, gap-control modes, and safety mode are reduced by using PID controller. However, the design method of conventional PID controller is not sufficient for the stable air gap control system. Therefore, the optimal PID controller using LQR manner is more useful to find the designed parameters of PID controller. In this paper, we show that the performance of the optimal PID controller is better than that of the lead-lag controller.
In this study, a driver model based on the lead-lag controller for stable maneuver of a highly nonlinear, multi-dimensional, numerically stiff multibody vehicle model according to the various handling test requirements such as steady-state cornering, double lange change, etc. is presented The lead-lag controller is developed with lead and lag compensation. which use the transfer function with cross-over frequency by frequency response method. The proposed driver model is applied to a vehicle model in steady-state and slalom maneuver to verify its effectiveness and validity. The results show that the proposed path control strategy is excellent both in pursuing the desired course and stability of the vehicle.

This paper presents an advanced sensorless permanent magnet (PM) brushless motor controller integrated circuit (IC) employing an automatic lead-angle compensator. The proposed IC is composed of not only a sensorless sine-wave motor controller but also an isolated gate-driver and current self-sensing circuit. The fabricated IC operates in sensorless mode using a position estimator based on a sliding mode observer and an open-loop start-up. For high efficiency PM brushless motor driving, an automatic lead-angle control algorithm is employed, which improves the efficiency of a PM brushless motor system by tracking the minimum copper loss under various load and speed conditions. The fabricated IC is evaluated experimentally using a commercial 200 W PM brushless motor and power switches. The proposed IC is successfully operated without any additional sensors, and the proposed algorithm maintains the minimum current and maximum system efficiency under $0N{\cdot}m$ to $0.8N{\cdot}m$ load conditions. The proposed IC is a feasible sensorless speed controller for various applications with a wide range of load and speed conditions.

In this paper, we show that the instantaneous phase current of the bifiler-wound hybrid stepping motor is dependent of lead angle and that the information of motor position is obtained from the instantaneous phase current at ${\pi}/2$ by the theoretical formular and its computer simulation results. From the facts, we design the microcontroller-based motor position sensorless controller of optimal lead angle, which generates the excitation pulses for the closed-loop drives. The controller is consist of microcontroller which has the function of A/D converter, programmable input/output timer, and the transfer table which has the values of optimal lead angle depending on motor velocity, and ROM which has the transfer table of the values of lead angle depending on velocity of motor and the values of instantaneous phase current at ${\pi}/2$. From the design of microcontroller-based controller, we minimize the external interface circuit and obtain flexibility by changing the contents of ROM transfer tables and the control software. We confirm that the designed controller drives the bifilar-wound hybrid stepping motor is the mode of optimal lead angle by comparing the instananeous phase current experimental results and computer simulation results.

Direct drive servovalve(DDV) is a kind of one-stage valve since the rotary motion of DC motor is directly transferred to the linear motion of valve spool through the link. Since the structure of DDV is simple, it is less expensive, more reliable and offers reduced internal leakage and reduced sensitivity to fluid contamination. However, the flow force effect on the spool motion is significant such that it induces large steady-state error in a step response. If the proportional control gain is increased to reduce the steady-state error, the system becomes unstable. In order to satisfy the system design requirements, the lead-lag controller is designed using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search method.
