Benzotriazole which is used as a corrosion inhibitor for the zinc coated steel was intercalated into Na-MMT. X-ray diffraction experiments on intercalant/silicate composite samples demonstrated that the intercalation of intercalant leads to an increase in the spacing between silicate layers. Water soluble poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (PEA) nanocomposites, to use as a coating agent, were prepared with these modified MMT. We found that mono-layered silicates were dispersed in PEA matrix and those resultants were exfoliated nanocomposites. From the result of salt spray test, we found that this coating agent prepared with water soluble poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (PEA) nanocomposite provided good corrosion protection. These results were caused by decreasing the rate of oxygen permeation from silicate layers dispersed homogeneously in PEA matrix and the effect of corrosion inhibitor from benzotriazole.
Containment structures not only are leak-tight barriers, but also may be subjected to impacts caused by tornado-generated projectiles, aircraft crashes or the fragments of missile warhead. This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the impact resistance of steel fiber-reinforced concrete against 45 g projectiles at velocity around 2500 m/s. An explosively formed projectile (EFP) was designed to generate an equivalent missile fragment. The formation and velocity of EFP are measured by flash x-ray. A switch made of double-layered thin copper sheets controlled the exposure time of each flash x-ray. The influence of the fiber volume fraction on the crater diameter of concrete slab and the residual velocity of the projectile were studied. The residual velocity of the projectile decreased as the fiber volume fractions increased. In this work, the residual velocity of the projectile was to 44% that of plain concrete when the fiber volume fraction exceeded 1.5%. Based on the present finding, steel fiber reinforced concrete with the fiber volume fraction exceeding 1.5% appear to be more efficient in protection against high velocity fragment impact.

The aim of the present work is to present a computational study of the non-linear aero-elastic behavior of a multi-layered Thermal Protection System (TPS). The severity of atmospheric re-entry conditions is due to the combination of high temperatures, high pressures and high velocities, and thus the aero-elastic behavior of flexible structures can be difficult to assess. In order to validate the specific computational model and the overall strategy for structural and aerodynamics analyses of flexible structures, the simplified TPS sample tested in the 8' High Temperature Tunnel (HTT) at NASA LaRC has been selected as a baseline for the validation of the present work. The von $K{\acute{a}}rm{\acute{a}}n^{\prime}s$ three dimensional large deflection theory for the structure and a hybrid Raleigh-Ritz-Galerkin approach, combined with the first order Piston Theory to describe the aerodynamic flow, have been used to derive the equations of motion. The paper shows that a good description of the physical behavior of the fabric is possible with the proposed approach. The model is further applied to investigate structural and aero-elastic influence of the number of the layers and the stitching pattern.

All aspects of human life have become increasingly dependent on data in the last few decades. The development of several applications causes an enormous issue on data volume in current years. This information must be safeguarded and kept in safe locations. Massive volumes of data have been safely stored with cloud computing. This technology is developing rapidly because of its immense potentials. As a result, protecting data and the procedures to be handled from attackers has become a top priority in order to maintain its integrity, confidentiality, protection, and privacy. Therefore, it is important to implement the appropriate security measures in order to prevent security breaches and vulnerabilities. An improved version of Modular Encryption Standard (IMES) based on layered modelling of safety mechanisms is the major focus of this paper's research work. Key generation in IMES is done using a logistic map, which estimates the values of the input data. The performance analysis demonstrates that proposed work performs better than commonly used algorithms against cloud security in terms of higher performance and additional qualitative security features. The results prove that the proposed IMES has 0.015s of processing time, where existing models have 0.017s to 0.022s of processing time for a file size of 256KB.
In this paper, we propose an efficient layer-separable PES packetization and processing scheme for DVB-S2 satellite broadcasting service based on SVC video. Unlike the conventional single layer-based video coding such as MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264, SVC can combine numerous number of video layers, which are aggregated to a single bitstream. Therefore, it is necessary to devise a new PES packetization scheme that can efficiently separate multiple video layers of SVC. In order to combine the layered characteristics of the SVC video and the robust channel coding capability of LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) of DVB-S2 for unequal error protection, we propose an efficient PES packetization in the transmitter side and PES packet processing scheme in the receiver side of DVB-S2. We prove the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in terms of processing speed and time delay required for processing of the separated layers of SVC video in the satellite broadcasting service.

Analysis has been performed for the penetration of a long-rod into MMC/Ceramic layered armour system with several shot test and a series of simulations. Two types of MMC plate have been fabricated by a liquid pressing method; A356/45%vol.%SiCp with a uniform distribution of SiC particle and Al7075/45%vol.B4Cp with B4C particle. The mechanical properties were measured with the high-speed split Hopkins bar test, hardness test and compression test. The popular Simplified Johnson-Cook model was adopted to represent the material characteristics for FEM simulations. The performance of the MMC applied armour system has been made by comparing with the semi-infinite mild steel target using the depth of penetration(DOP). The results show that placing ceramic front layer provides a certain gain in protection, and that placing another ductile front layer provides a further gain. The application of MMC is found to be attractive.

The purpose of this study is to decide the permeability and the rate of flow in a way of both site investigation and backward analysis and the most reasonable numerical analysis by performing a seepage model test for measuring the deformation swept volume of the embankment body in order to review a stability of the sea dyke being composed of multi-layers depending on variation of infiltration. As a result of the review, it could be forecasted that sweeping loss would be taken place at the boundary between bed protection works and embankment materials of the sea dyke due to a permeability difference of the multi-layered bed foundation structures and the sea dyke deformation would be occurred as a result thereby. As result of a numerical analysis for the seepage model test, it could be observed that critical velocity method was found to be smaller than the numerical analysis value but its tendency was similar and therefore it was judged that this method could be applied for the actual cross section.

Information plays an important role in modern society. Most of the information is processed and moved in the digital space. In cyberspace, confidential communication based on resistance and security is fundamental. It is essential to protect the information sent and received over the network. However, information may be leaked and forged by unauthorized users. The effectiveness of the existing protection system decreases as an innovative technique is applied to identify the communication contents by a third party. Steganography is a technique for inserting secret information into a specific area of a medium. Stegganography and steganalysis techniques are at odds with each other. A new and sophisticatedly implemented system is needed to cope with the advanced steganalysis. To enhance step-by-step diffusion and irregularity, I propose a hybrid implementation technique of image steganography for Hangul messages based on layered encryption and variable ShiftRows. PSNR was calculated to measure the proposed steganography efficiency and performance. Compared to the basic LSB technique, it was shown that the diffusion and randomness can be increased even though the PSNR decreased by 1.45%.
Recently 5G technology is one of the technologies that has been receiving much positive responses from users as it is integrated with virtual technology. However, 5G's security issues have not been fully resolved and more security is soon required. In this paper, an approach technique is proposed as a probability-based hierarchy to provide personal privacy for 5G-based IoT users more safely. The proposed technique is aimed at not exposing the privacy of IoT users to third parties by using two random keys created personally by IoT users. In order to satisfy both safety and efficiency, the proposed technology divides the privacy of IoT users into two layers. In the first stage, IoT users will control access to intermediate media using anonymous keys generated by IoT users, and in the second stage, information of IoT users registered with servers will be darkened and replicated. The proposed technique has improved the accuracy of the privacy protection of IoT users as they assign weights to layered information after layering users' privacy information on a probabilistic basis.

The Geumgang Pine (Pinus densiflora) Forest in Sogwang-ri, Uljin has traditionally been a pine tree protection area (prohibited forest) for timber production purposes, and is now designated and managed as a protected area for forest genetic resource conservation by the Korea Forest Service. This study, we analyzed topographical characteristics, existing vegetation, tree age, and plant community structure, and proposed a sustainable management method for the Geumgang Pine (Pinus densiflora) Forest in Sogwang-ri, Uljin for timber havesting purposes. The topographical characteristics of the target area were 36.7% ridges and 38.7% valleys; the ratio of ridges to valleys was similar, and the slopes formed 24.7% of the total area. The types of pine forest communities are divided into six types based on the progress of pine forest renewal, the competition with other species such as deciduous broadleaf trees, and the formation of layered structures. It has been confirmed that the age of the large-diameter pine trees (40~60cm in diameter) is approximately 60~70 years, which is relatively low. As a result of the analysis of the relative importance percentage and layered structure, differences depended on the progress of the pine forest renewal project, and not only the maintenance of the pine forest, but also the creation of a secondary growth forest, the density adjustment of pine trees, and the active management of competitive trees. The average basal area by the community was 12,642.1~25,424.4cm2 for the tree layer and 1.8~1,956.5cm2 for the low tree layer based on a quadrat of 400m2. The difference in the basal area appeared to depend on the size and number of trees forming the tree layer and the degree of pine forest renewal (the degree of time elapsed after thinning pine trees). The average number of species that appeared in each community was 8.7-20.3; there were many species located in valleys, and the type competes with deciduous broadleaf trees due to the lack of management. The diversity of species ranged from 0.6915-1.0942, and was evaluated as low compared to pine communities in central temperate zones. In this paper, we determined the management goals of Geumgang Pine (Pinus densiflora) Forest in Sogwang-ri, Uljin to produce timber with high economic value, and suggested efficient vegetation management for continuous afforestation, the establishment of a timber production system, and improvement of wood production as a management direction.
