The transitional characterisics of oscillations and rotational speeds from the starting to the stationary states in damped single degree of freedom systems acted upon the rotor unbalance forces are studied. Angular travel is assumed to vary with time. The theoretical analysis is obtained by using Laplace transform method. Integration involved in the theoretical results is carried out by the numerical analysis program of continuous-time linear systems to arbitrary inputs. It is evident that the transitional charcterixtics of a machine are affected remarkably by damping ratios, stationary angular velocity time and frequency ratios.

In this article, the generalized coupled non-Fickian diffusion-thermoelasticity analysis is carried out using an analytical method. The transient behaviors of field variables, including mass concentration, temperature and displacement are studied in a strip, which is subjected to shock loading. The governing equations are derived using generalized coupled non-Fickian diffusion-thermoelasticity theory, which is based on Lord-Shulman theory of coupled thermoelasticity. The governing equations are transferred to the frequency domain using Laplace transform technique and then the field variables are obtained in analytical forms using the presented method. The field variables are eventually determined in time domain by employing the Talbot technique. The dynamic behaviors of mass concentration, temperature and displacement are studied in details. It is concluded that the presented analytical method has a high capability for simulating the wave propagation with finite speed in mass concentration field as well as for tracking thermoelastic waves. Furthermore, the obtained results are more realistic than that of others.

This paper deals with a theoretical method to calculate natural frequencies of a fixed-free rectangular tank partially in contact with an outer water gap. Orthogonal polynomials satisfying the boundary conditions of the tank are used as admissible functions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method. A quarter model of the liquid-coupled system is constructed and it is simplified to a line supported flat plate in contact with the liquid. The liquid displacement potential functions satisfying the Laplace equation and water boundary conditions are derived, and the finite Fourier transform is accomplished in conjunction with the compatibility requirement along the contacting interfaces between the tank and water. An eigenvalue problem is derived so that the natural frequencies of the wet rectangular tank can be extracted. The predictions from the proposed analytical method show good agreement with the finite element analysis results.
This paper deals with a hydroelastic vibration analysis of two rectangular plates partially coupled with a liquid, which is bounded by two plates and two rigid side walls. The wet displacement of each plate is assumed to be a combination of the modal functions of a dry uniform beam with a clamped boundary condition. As the liquid is assumed to be an ideal liquid, the displacement potential satisfying the Laplace equation is determined so that the liquid boundary conditions can meet the requirements at the rigid surfaces and the free liquid surface. The wet dynamic modal functions of each plate are expanded by using the finite Fourier transform to obtain an appropriate form of the compatibility requirement along the contacting surfaces between the plates and the liquid. The liquid-coupled natural frequencies of the plates are derived by using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Finite element analyses using commercial software are carried out to verify the proposed theory. It is observed that the theoretical method agrees excellently with the three-dimensional finite element analyses results. The effects of the liquid depth and the liquid thickness on the normalized natural frequencies are investigated to identify the dynamic characteristics of the liquid coupled system.
This paper presents a theoretical analysis for the free vibration of rectangular tanks partially filled with an ideal liquid. Wet dynamic displacements of the tanks are approximated by combining the orthogonal polynomials satisfying the boundary conditions, since the rectangular tanks are composed of four rectangular plates. The classical boundary conditions of the tanks at the top and bottom ends are considered, such as clamped, simply supported, and clamped-free boundary conditions. As the facing rectangular plates are assumed to be geometrically and structurally identical, the vibration modes of the facing plates of the tanks can be divided into two categories: symmetric and antisymmetric modes with respect to the planes passing through the center of the tanks and perpendicular to the free liquid surface. The liquid displacement potentials satisfying the Laplace equation and liquid boundary conditions are derived, and the wet dynamic modal functions of a quarter of the tanks can be expanded by the finite Fourier transform for compatibility requirements along the contacting surfaces between the tanks and liquid. An eigenvalue problem is derived using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. Consequently, the wet natural frequencies of the rectangular tanks can be extracted. The proposed analytical method is verified by observing an excellent agreement with three-dimensional finite element analysis results. The effects of the liquid level and boundary condition at the top and bottom edges are investigated.
A theoretical method is developed to analyze the free vibration of an elastic annular plate in contact with an ideal liquid. The displacement potential functions of the contained liquid are expressed as a combination of the Bessel functions that satisfy the Laplace equation and the liquid boundary conditions. The compatibility condition along the interface between the annular plate and the contained liquid is taken into account to consider the fluid-structure coupling. The dynamic displacement of the wet annular plate is assumed to be a combination of dry eigenfunctions, allowing for prediction of the natural frequencies using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The study investigates the effect of radial liquid boundary conditions on the natural frequencies of the wet annular plate, considering four types of liquid bounding: outer container bounded, outer and inner bounded, inner bounded, and radially unbounded. The proposed theoretical method is validated by comparing the predicted wet natural frequencies with those obtained from finite element analysis, showing excellent accuracy. The results indicate that the radial liquid bounding effect on the natural frequencies is negligible for the axisymmetric vibrational mode, but relatively significant for the mode with one nodal diameter (n =1) and no nodal circle (m' = 0). Furthermore, the study reveals that the wet natural frequencies are the largest for the plate with an inner bounded cylinder among the radial liquid boundary cases, regardless of the vibration mode.

This paper analyses the transient response of a spherical elastic shell located near fee surface and impinged by spherical step-exponential acoustic shock waves. The problem is solved through extension of a method (Huang, 1969) previously formulated for the excitation in an infinite domain, which employs the classical separation of variables, series solutions, and Laplace transform technique The effect of the free surface reflection is taken into account using the image source method. The reflection of the incident wave has been treated by the same image formulation. If the reflection of the pressure field scattered and radiated by the shell is considered, the problem becomes that of multiple scattering by two spheres. However, this is in general negligible considering errors inherent from other sources and that the scattered and radiated pressure waves emanating from the shell are small. Thus, the problem is reduced to that of a structure immersed in an infinite fluid and impinged upon the origin and the image incident.

In this paper, a new method is suggested to analyze impulsive stresses at loading poing of concentrated impact load under certain impact conditions determined by impact velocity, stiffness of plate and mass of impact body, etc. The impulsive stresses are analyzed by using the three dimensional dynamic theory of elasticity so as to analytically clarify the generation phenomenon of cone crack at the impact fracture of fragile materials (to be discussed if the second paper). The Lagrange's plate theory and Hertz's law of contact theory are used for the analysis of impact load, and the approximate equation of impact load is suggested to analyze the impulsive stresses at the impact point to decide the ranage of impact load factor. When impact load factors are over and under 0.263, approximate equations are suggested to be F(t)=Aexp(-Bt)sinCt and F(t)=Aexp(-bt) {1-exp(Ct)} respectively. Also, the inverse Laplace transformation is done by using the F.F.T.(fast fourier transform) algorithm. And in order to clarity the validity of stress analysis method, experiments on strain fluctuation at impact point are performed on a supported square glass plate. Finally, these analytical results are shown to be in close agreement with experimental results.

A steady-state analysis and a simple dynamic model as simplified methods are developed, and results of energy consumption loads are compared with results obtained using computer to evaluate the analytical solution. Before obtaining simplified model a mathematical model is formulated for the effect of wall mass on the thermal performance of four different houses having various wall construction. This analytical study was motivated by the experimental work of Burch et al. An analytical solution of one-dimensional, linear, partial differential equation for wall temperature profiles and room air temperatures is obtained using the Laplace transform method. Typical Meteorological Year data are processed to yield hourly average monthly values. This study is conducted using weather data from four different locations in the United States: Albuquerque, New mexico; Miami, Florida; Santa Maria, California; and Washington D.C. for both winter and summer conditions. The steady state analysis that does not include the effect of thermal mass can provide an accurate estimate of energy consumption in most cases except for houses #2 and #4 in mild weather areas. This result shows that there is an effect of mass on the thermal performance of heavily constructed house in mild weather conditions. The simple dynamic model is applicable for high cycling rates and accurate values of inside wall temperature and ambient air temperature.

This research presents dynamical reaction investigation of pore-dependent and nano-thickness beams having functional gradation (FG) constituents exposed to a movable particle. The nano-thickness beam formulation has been appointed with the benefits of refined high orders beam paradigm and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) comprising two scale moduli entitled nonlocality and strains gradient modulus. The graded pore-dependent constituents have been designed through pore factor based power-law relations comprising pore volumes pursuant to even or uneven pore scattering. Therewith, variable scale modulus has been thought-out until process a more accurate designing of scale effects on graded nano-thickness beams. The motion equations have been appointed to be solved via Ritz method with the benefits of Chebyshev polynomials in cosine form. Also, Laplace transform techniques help Ritz-Chebyshev method to obtain the dynamical response in time domain. All factors such as particle speed, pores and variable scale modulus affect the dynamical response.
