SIOP 모델을 적용한 한국어학습자의 수학 학습 지도 방안 연구 (A Study on Teaching Methods of Mathematics Using SIOP Model for KLLs)

  • 국제결혼 및 이민으로 인한 급격한 인구학적 변화로 우리나라는 다문화 사회로 이미 이행되고 있으며 이에 따라 다문화 학생을 위한 교육적 관심의 필요성이 야기되었다. 특히, 모국어가 타언어이면서 한국어로 학습하는 한국어학습자(Korean Language Learners)를 위한 교과학습 지원의 필요성이 절실한 상황이다. 본 연구는 영어학습자(English Language Learners)를 위해 미국에서 개발된 SIOP 모델 중 우리나라의 교실 상황에 적합한 전략을 선택하고 이를 한국어학습자에게 적용하여 수학적 의사소통의 특징과 수학적 오류의 변화 가능성에 대해 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로 5학년 2학기 합동과 대칭 단원의 7차시에 걸쳐 SIOP 모델을 적용한 후에 나타나는 한국어학습자의 수학적 의사소통 양상과 수학적 오류를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 한국어학습자의 특성을 파악하고 향후 교과 학습에 대한 방향성을 설정하는 데 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

  • As Large Language Models (LLM) like OpenAI's ChatGPT[1] continue to grow in popularity, new applications and services are expected to emerge. This paper introduces an experimental study on a smart web-builder application assistance system that combines Computer Vision with GUI object recognition and the ChatGPT (LLM). First of all, the research strategy employed computer vision technology in conjunction with Microsoft's "ChatGPT for Robotics: Design Principles and Model Abilities"[2] design strategy. Additionally, this research explores the capabilities of Large Language Model like ChatGPT in various application design tasks, specifically in assisting with web-builder tasks. The study examines the ability of ChatGPT to synthesize code through both directed prompts and free-form conversation strategies. The researchers also explored ChatGPT's ability to perform various tasks within the builder domain, including functions and closure loop inferences, basic logical and mathematical reasoning. Overall, this research proposes an efficient way to perform various application system tasks by combining natural language commands with computer vision technology and LLM (ChatGPT). This approach allows for user interaction through natural language commands while building applications.

교원 재교육 프로그램에 대한 한국어 교원의 요구와 관련 변인 연구 -국내 대학 부설 한국어교육기관을 중심으로- (A Study of Korean Teachers' Needs in In-Service Teacher Training and Variables Related to Their Needs: A Case of University Korean Language Education Centers in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine Korean teachers' needs in in-service teacher training and variables related to their needs. This study was conducted with teachers from Korean language centers in Korean universities. The following three research questions were investigated: (1) What are the teachers' experiences of Korean language teaching and in-service teacher training? (2) What are the teachers' needs and expectations for the content and components of in-service education programs? Are there any disparity between teachers' needs and institutional needs? (3) What are the variables to be considered in designing an effective in-service teacher education program? In order to answer the research questions, a survey was developed and distributed to university Korean language institutions and Korean language teachers. The results indicated that both institutions and teachers are highly aware of the importance of the need for in-service teacher training. The results also suggested that a more teacher-centered, bottom-up approach should be implemented for successful outcomes of teacher education programs. Based on the results, this study offers a summary of the need for in-service teacher training and variables (both individual teacher variables and environmental variables) to be considered in designing the content and components of a teacher education program.

Differentiation of Aphasic Patients from the Normal Control Via a Computational Analysis of Korean Utterances

  • Spontaneous speech provides rich information defining the linguistic characteristics of individuals. As such, computational analysis of speech would enhance the efficiency involved in evaluating patients' speech. This study aims to provide a method to differentiate the persons with and without aphasia based on language usage. Ten aphasic patients and their counterpart normal controls participated, and they were all tasked to describe a set of given words. Their utterances were linguistically processed and compared to each other. Computational analyses from PCA (Principle Component Analysis) to machine learning were conducted to select the relevant linguistic features, and consequently to classify the two groups based on the features selected. It was found that functional words, not content words, were the main differentiator of the two groups. The most viable discriminators were demonstratives, function words, sentence final endings, and postpositions. The machine learning classification model was found to be quite accurate (90%), and to impressively be stable. This study is noteworthy as it is the first attempt that uses computational analysis to characterize the word usage patterns in Korean aphasic patients, thereby discriminating from the normal group.

비전공자 소프트웨어 기초교육을 위한 프로그래밍 언어 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determination of Programming Language for Software Basic Education of Non-majors)

  • Purpose The objective of this study is to determine the programming language for improving algorithmic thinking of basic software education for non-majors, which has recently been receiving attention to nurture talents needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Design/methodology/approach In this study, Delphi method was used to select the suitable programming language for the features of each of five departments for basic software education for non-majors in order to develop the capability of algorithmic thinking. The survey was conducted three times to 21 experts, and the results were analyzed using quantitative analysis (CVR) values and stability. Findings For the most suitable programming language for each department determined in this study, App Inventor was selected for humanities department, RUR-PLE for natural science department, App Inventor for social science department, Python for engineering department, and Scratch for fine arts department. This is expected to be used as the basis for determining the direction of curriculum and operation of universities starting basic software education through programming language by department proposed in this study.

  • 세계의 글로벌화는 공공도서관계에도 그 영향이 지대하여, 현재 미국 공공도서관에는 자국어뿐 아니라 전 세계 각종의 다국어 자료에 대한 폭넓은 서비스가 실시되고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 미국 공공도서관내 한국 자료 서비스에 대한 현황을 조사하고 텍사스주 알링턴 공공도서관을 중심으로 한국 자료에 대한 수집, 정리, 종류, 이용, 관리에 대해 연구하였다. 이 연구가 미국내 기타 지역의 한국 자료 서비스에 대한 인식을 제고하며, 한국내 공공도서관의 다언어 자료 서비스에 대한 기초 마련에 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

Language Education Policy and English Textbooks of Korea and Japan

  • The aim of this study is to understand how English textbooks in Korea and Japan reflect English education policies for improving the English language learners' cultural ability. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the method of analyzing English textbooks was used because English textbooks are an important tool that most specifically reflects the English policy of a country. This study analyzed a total of six English textbooks, three middle school English textbooks currently used in Korea and three in Japan. We analyzed nouns/pronouns related to culture presented in the reading section included in each unit, and compared cultural diversity and cultural identity included in English textbooks in Korea and Japan. As a result, it was found that both countries experienced cultural diversity through English education and introduced their cultural pride to Western culture to realize the goal of strengthening global capabilities. This textbook analysis results show that English textbooks of Korea and Japan depend on American/British cultures and norms. The cultural contents of English textbooks in Korea and Japan tend to focus on geography, food and drink, festivals and activities, family and education systems, etc. And English textbooks in Korea and Japan include the cultural sections in each lesson, but they don't suggest how to relate these cultural sections into the learners' real experiences. These results can be utilized as the motives from which both countries develop English education policy and textbooks in the future.

금융권에 적용 가능한 금융특화언어모델 구축방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Construction of Financial-Specific Language Model Applicable to the Financial Institutions)

  • 최근 텍스트분류, 감성분석, 질의응답 등의 자연어 처리를 위해서 사전학습언어모델(Pre-trained Language Model, PLM)의 중요성은 날로 강조되고 있다. 한국어 PLM은 범용적인 도메인의 자연어 처리에서 높은 성능을 보이나 금융, 제조, 법률, 의료 등의 특화된 도메인에서는 성능이 미약하다. 본 연구는 금융도메인 뿐만 아니라 범용도메인에서도 우수한 성능을 보이는 금융특화 언어모델의 구축을 위해 언어모델의 학습과정과 미세조정 방법을 제안하는 것이 주요 목표이다. 금융도메인 특화언어모델을 구축하는 과정은 (1) 금융데이터 수집 및 전처리, (2) PLM 또는 파운데이션 모델 등 모델 아키텍처 선정, (3) 도메인 데이터 학습과 인스트럭션 튜닝, (4) 모델 검증 및 평가, (5) 모델 배포 및 활용 등으로 구성된다. 이를 통해 금융도메인의 특성을 살린 사전학습 데이터 구축방안과 효율적인 LLM 훈련방법인 적응학습과 인스트럭션 튜닝기법을 제안하였다.

수어통역사 자격제도 운영에 대한 수어통역사, 청각장애인통역사, 농인의 인식 (Perceptions of Sign Language Interpreters, Deaf Interpreters and Deaf on Operation of Sign Language Interpreter Qualification System)

  • 본 연구는 현장에서 수어통역 서비스를 제공하는 수어통역사와 청각장애인통역사 그리고 수어통역서비스를 이용하는 농인들을 대상으로 초점집단면접을 실시하여 현 수어통역사 자격제도에 대한 구체적인 인식을 알아보고 이를 통해 수어통역사 자격제도 운영의 개선점을 살펴보고자 하였다. 주제분석 결과 각 그룹별로 세 개의 상위범주가 도출되었고 이를 다시 종합한 결과 '수어통역 역량과 전문성을 공인받을 수 있는 자격제도로의 변화'와 '한국수어와 농문화에 기초한 자격제도로의 개선'으로 정리되었다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 '수어통역사 자격시험 관리 운영을 전담하는 상설 기관 신설', '수어통역의 전문성 및 수준과 경력이 반영된 자격제도로 개편', '모든 시험 문제와 시험의 과정을 수어 중심으로 진행', '농인이 주체가 되는 시스템', '수어통역사와 청각 장애인통역사를 위한 윤리강령 제정'을 제언하였다.

  • In this paper, I made a comparative study of design process of Kuryong-Ri, Keumsong-Myun, Chechon City, Chungbuk Province which is one of rural communities in Korea and framing process of master plan for Hama street at Sirahama town on Wakayama Ken, famous hot-bath resort in Japan. Both processes have common points to adopt identical design philosophy and method called 'Pattern Language'. The aim of this study to provide valuable reference for applying at community design by the people in the future, though analyzing common and unlike points, laying stress on the process of user-participation rather than its final results. It is possible confirm Pattern Language is effective tool for carrying out community design by the people.
