This paper presents a low-power, low-complexity design and implementation results of a high speed multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) wireless LAN (WLAN) baseband processor. The proposed processor is composed of the physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) processor and physical medium dependent (PMD) processor, which have been optimized to have low-power and reduced-complexity architecture. It was designed in a hardware description language (HDL) and synthesized to gate-level circuits using 0.18um CMOS standard cell library. As a result, the proposed TX-PLCP processor reduced the power consumption by as much as 81% over the bit-level operation architecture. Also, the proposed MIMO symbol detector reduced the hardware complexity by 18% over the conventional SQRD-based architecture with division circuits and square root operations.

In development environment focused on computers, the ideas of app developring tool have been presented in terms of improved software productivity. Historically, for smart applications, app developing tools have not yet effectively developed or initiated locally or internationally. Therefore, developer have difficulty in studying developing process due to the difficulties of text based language. The basic concept of a new innovative App development tool, App Developing Tool, which has been proposed in this study and enables to apply on-site requirements to smart phones, is to develop Apps on the level using easy-to-learn Word or Excel in a computer. App developing tool is developed process focus instead of program focus by introducing SOA(Service-oriented Architecture) to develop reasonably reusable service units. Since service-oriented architecture allows reusing by service unit when there are changes in a specific process or service, it is possible to provide a new function by replacing the service instead of developing a new program.

This research aimed to investigate the benefits of incorporating Problem-Based Learning(PBL) approach in Business English classes in a Korean university. This study focused on student experiences of learning in a PBL environment. The study examined the feasibility of cultivating students' key job competencies, that of their learning achievement and their satisfaction with the PBL approach. Data on student experiences were gathered from questionnaires. The analysis of the data showed, first, that the PBL could cultivate students' key job competencies. Second, the PBL could have a positive effect on students' acquisition of business content knowledge and their English language development. Third, the PBL approach achieved above moderate level of student satisfaction.

This study intends to investigate the path that their language competence impacts on the quality of life through family relationships and social relationships. We conducted a questionnaire survey of marriage immigrants, living in metropolitan areas of Korea. The results are summarized as follows: First, including linguistic competence paths directly and indirectly through family relationships and social relationships, all paths that affect the quality of life has been noted. Secondly, in highly educated, high-income and spontaneous-marriage-immigrants population groups, relationships among linguistic competence, family relationships, social relationships and the quality of life were turned out to be relatively high than comparative groups. third, every groups investigated in this study have different paths that the linguistic competence influence the quality of life, but family relationship has a stronger effect on the quality of life than any other variables including linguistic competence.

We assessed reading-related skills in children with reading comprehension difficulties ("Poor comprehenders"), word decoding difficulties ("Poor decoders") and normal readers, matched for age and nonverbal IQ. The reading-related skill tests used in our study are phonological processing, visual processing test, and receptive vocabulary test. The authors argue that children who had difficulty in reading comprehension had lower scores only on the phonological short-term memory test compared with normal readers, although their performance on receptive vocabulary and visual processing tests are comparable to normal readers. The results of our study revealed that poor decoders had lower scores on the phonological processing, visual processing, and receptive vocabulary tests.

Today, demand for job training of married immigrants is increasing. This research aims to propose developmental Edu-Tech based on the demand for education contents and the characteristics of multicultural family. Based on analysis such as FGI(focus group interview) and expert interview, this paper presents a four methods for development of EduTech for multicultural people, such as language skills, the recommendation technology of customized training contents, contents design based on gamification and user experience design. This research contributes to the direction of the method to use EduTech as a tool for gaps in education and welfare state.

As future society will be strengthened by interdisciplinary study and education, we have to prepare general education curriculum which provide critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication abilities. Those curriculum will help to nurture students who lead our future society. Now we prepare new curriculum to train students to understand the computer science and software needed to create their own, and we could cultivate students having ability to create interdisciplinary study by using programming skill. So we ran a computer programming class during a semester for the freshmen's capacity building on computing-thinking ability using the Python language. We analyzed the effectiveness and showed that student's curiosity and motivation to want to learn computer programming occurred, their various skills for interdisciplinary ability were improved.

This study examined the effects of leisure satisfaction and hope on korean university adjustment of Chinese students. The data were collected from 361 chinese students among three universities located in Chungnam, Seoul and Incheon. Frequency, reliability, mean comparison, correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results were as follows. First, chinese students in the language training group was better in the Korean university adjustment than those in each group of undergraduate and graduate students. The chinese students who stayed less than six months in Korea were better in the Korean university adjustment than those who stayed more than 6 months. Second, there was the significant positive relationship among chinese students' korean university adjustment, leisure satisfaction, and hope. Third, leisure satisfaction and hope significantly influenced korean university adjustment of chinese students. Among them, leisure satisfaction influenced most. korean university adjustment.

Advances in communications and control technology, the strengthening of the Internet, and the growing recognition of the urgency to reduce the risk and production cost are motivating the development of improvements in the traditional manufacturing industry. In this paper, we developed a remote dust collector bag control system which is a combination of advanced IT and traditional dust collector based on the event. At first, we made the A/D(Analog/Digital) converter using a micro processor because the differential pressure transmission, which is a sensor of the dust collector, produces analog volt data. A/D converter can provide RS-232 communication to connect with Power Line Communication(PLC) modem. And, n-bytes message format was defined for the efficient dust collector bag information transmission from a dust collector to a user. Also, we designed the data types to model the dust collector and the dust collector bag, and they were logically modeled using XML and object-oriented modeling method. In addition to that, we implemented the system for showing the dust collector bag exchange time exactly to users at real-time using various visual user interfaces.

Performance of software development is measured by two major criteria - roductivity and quality. Although the criteria is empirically tested in software engineering research, they often present with a limited way under consideration of a few factors or contexts for developers to focus on the either productivity facets or quality facets. Analyzing data on software development performance collected over a 13-year period from 20 countries, we investigated how major software development factors - development type, development platform, development technique, language type, DBMS, methodology, methodology acquisition, CASE,, summary of work effort, resource level, max team size, affect the performance of software development. The results suggest that productivity and quality of software development are affected by different factors and context: function points, line of code, extreme defects, major defects, or minor defects. This research provides the empirical evidence that the two performance criteria require for software developer to have careful attention to find the optimal balance between the two performance criteria.
