According to whether language symbols are used to solve puzzles, puzzle games can be roughly divided into puzzle games with language symbols and puzzle games without language symbols. Puzzles games with language symbols can be subdivided into dialogue puzzles games and word puzzles games. These different puzzle-solving methods have different characteristics and have different effects on the empathy in the game. In horizontal scrolling games, due to the characteristics of the third-person perspective of horizontal scrolling games, there is always a 'fourth wall' between the player and the controlled character, making it difficult for players to gain a empathy when playing such games .Especially when there is a dialogue between a player-controlled character and an NPC, the sense of distance between the player and the character will be further amplified. As one of the most common game types in side-scrolling games, side-scrolling puzzle games can be divided into language symbols-based puzzle game and non-language symbols-based puzzle game according to whether language symbols are used to solve puzzles, and then promote the development of the game plot. We combine the characteristics of horizontal scrolling games, and analyze the influence of language symbols on empathy in puzzle-solving games by summarizing the game characteristics of two different puzzle-solving methods. The results show that in horizontal scrolling puzzle games, solving puzzles without using language symbols can better expand the player's sense of plot substitution.
Korean Text to Sign Language Traslator could be applied to learn letters for both the deaf and hard-of-hearing people, and to have a conversation with normal people. This paper describes some useful dictionaries for developing korean text to sign language translator; Base sign language dictionary, Compound sign language dictionary, and Resemble sign language dictionary. As korean sign language is composed entirely of about 6,000 words, the additional dictionaries are required for matching them to korean written language. We design base sign language dictionary which was composed of basic symbols and moving picture of korean sign language, and propose the definition of compound isng language dictionary which was composed of symbols of base sing language. In addition, resemble sign language dictionary offer sign symbols and letters which is used same meaning in conversation. By using these methods, we could search quickly sign language during korean text to sign language translating process, and save storage space. We could also solve the lack of sign language words by using them, which are appeared on translating process.
In this paper, we have proposed Auto-TUS, an automatic transcription module of three union symbols-hyphen, dash and tilde (‘’, ‘―’, ‘∼’)-using their linguistic contexts. Few previous studies have discussed the problems of ambiguities in transcribing symbols into Korean alphabetic letters. We have classified six different reading formulae of the union symbols, analyzed the left and right contexts of the symbols, and investigated selection rules and distributions between the symbols and their contexts. Based on these linguistic features, 86 stereotyped patterns, 78 rules and 8 heuristics determining the types of reading formulae are suggested for Auto-TUS. This module works modularly in three steps. The pilot test was conducted with three test suites, which contains respectively 418, 987 and 1,014 clusters of words containing a union symbol. Encouraging results of 97.36%, 98.48%, 96.55% accuracy were obtained for three test suites. Our next phases are to develop a guessing routine for unknown contexts of the union symbols by using statistical information; to refine the proper nouns and terminology detecting module; and to apply Auto-TUS on a larger scale.

In this paper, a korean text to sign language translation system is designed and implemented for the hearing impaired people to learn letters and to have a conversation with normal people. We adopt the direct method for machine translation which uses morphological analysis and the dictionary search. And we define the necessary sign language dictionaries. Based on this processes, the system translate korean sentences to sign language moving picture. The proposed dictionaries are composed of the basic sign language dictionary, the compound sing language dictionary, and the resemble sign language dictionary. The basic sign language dictionary includes basic symbols and moving pictures of korean sign language. The compound sing language dictionary is composed of key-words of basic sign language. In addition, we offered the similar letters at the resemble sign language dictionary. The moving pictures of searched sign symbols are displayed on a screen in GIF formats by continuous motion of sign symbols or represented by the finger spelling based on the korean code analysis. The proposed system can provide quick sign language search and complement the lack of sign languages in the translation process by using the various sign language dictionaries which are characterized as korean sign language. In addition, to represent the sign language using GIF makes it possible to save the storage space of the sign language. In addition, to represent the sign language using GIF makes it possible to save storage space of the sign language dictionary.
In this paper, we have proposed Auto- TSS, an automatic transcription module of three ambiguous symbols-period (.), colon (:) and slash (/)--using their linguistic contexts. Few previous studies have discussed the problems of ambiguities in reading those symbols into Korean alphabetic letters in order to improve the current Korean TTS (Text-To-Speech) systems. We have classified 9 different reading formulae of the three symbols, analyzed their left and right contexts, and investigated selection rules and distributions between the symbols and their contexts. Based on these linguistic features, 30 stereotyped patterns, 53 rules and 5 heuristics determining the types of reading formulae are investigated for Auto-TSS. This module works modularly in 4 steps. The pilot test was conducted with three test suites, which contain respectively 6,979, 3,491 and 2,450 morpheme clusters containing at least one of three ambiguous symbols and Arabic numeral(s). Encouraging results of 94.3%, 93.0%, 94.2% accuracy were obtained for the test suites. Our next phases are to develop a guessing routine for unknown contexts of the union symbols by using statistical information; to refine the proper nouns and terminology detecting module; and to apply Auto-TSS on a larger scale.
The study is about the influence of literal, symbolic and graphics languages on mathematics reading. The results show that the scores of symbolic language volume are significantly lower than that of literal language volume. The abstractness of the mathematical symbols will not have a significant impact on the students with excellent mathematical academic, but as for the medium and poor students, abstract mathematics symbols will cause their cognitive impairment. Due to picture-superiority-effect, the test scores of the graphics language volume are significantly higher than that of the symbolic language volume. Graphics language will have a significant impact on the excellent and medium students, but has no impact on the poor students.
This study explores the relations between mathematics and the natural human language. At the very outset, a general definition of language was, given while it was attempted to make some comparisons between the words of natural language and mathematical symbols at that. Besides, the occupation of natural language functions within mathematics was handled. Consequently, it was tried to manifest that the language of mathematics enjoys the features of natural language as well. Mathematics makes use of many functional and structural features. The fact that fundamental ingredient of mathematics is symbols does not change this reality.

An indexing language were studied to construct the sentences and paragraphs providing system aided to write a Korean or English composition. The indexing language includes the index terms like noun, predicate, and adverb. and also various index symbols. The subject name and the keyword Included the symbols, which Indicate the connectives between clauses in a sentence, is used as the access point. The search results show this system will be effective with large database and developed retrieval methods.

The incremental parsing techniques are essential part of language-based environment which allow incremental construction of programs, as reparsing of modified part of the program alone enhances the system performance. A number of methods and algorithms have been proposed for incremental parsing and for the construction of incremental parsers. The purpose of this paper is to review the earlier incremental parsing algorithms which are too expensive in both time and space, and to present an efficient incremental LR parsing algorithm which is more efficient than the previous ones. In this paper, we generate automatically an extended LR parsing tables which allow the nonterminal symbols as well as terminal symbols for the input, and apply them to our efficient incremental LR parsing algorithm. Using these extended LR parsing tables. we suggest several methods to reduce its memory spaces and parsing steps as well. The algorithms described here were implemented in C language and YACC on a SUN UNIX OS, and were tested with several grammars and strings.
The purpose of this study is to explore directions for achieving therapeutic and social well-being effects through intercultural citizenship education in language classrooms. To accomplish this, we first clarified the concepts of education as healing, social well-being, and intercultural citizenship education. Subsequently, through the analysis of reflective journals on the writing and peer review processes written by university students, we discovered manifestations of key concepts of intercultural citizenship, such as empathy, recognition, connection, discovery of new knowledge, and attitude change. Based on these insights, we proposed the perspective that addressing the concept of intercultural citizenship in Korean language education can be beneficial for language education as a form of healing and for social well-being. Furthermore, we suggested that future language education should evolve from instruction focused on the interpretation of symbols and functional proficiency to practices that empower learners as members of global society, allowing them to assign value to their lives and build healthy relationships with others.
