영어 능력평가를 위한 구술시험의 다양성 (The Diversity in an English Oral Proficiency Test)

  • 영어 능력평가를 위한 테스트는 평가자, 과제, 인터뷰의 주제, 그리고 평가 받는 사람의 성별 등 여러 가지 이유 때문에 그 평가 결과가 아주 다양할 수 있다. 이전의 자료는 평가자가 외국어로서의 영어구술 능력 평가 결과에 아주 중요한 영향을 끼친다는 것을 증명해 왔다. 이렇게 영어 능력 구술 평가에 영향을 미치는 평가자에 대한 많은 조사는 있었지만 평가 과정에 잠재적으로 영향을 줄 수 있는 평가자의 가변성에 대한 조사는 극히 드물었다. 시험 환경이 달라지면 그에 따라 구술 평가가 달라지고 그 평가 기준은 또 완전히 달라진다. 그러므로 다양한 시험 수행 과제에 대해 똑같은 평가 기준을 적용하는 것은 적당치 않다. 즉 평가 과정에 대한 더 많은 원안 분석과 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다. 제 2외국어로서 영어 능력평가를 위한 구술시험은 보다 더 현실적이고 효율적인 장치가 만들어져야 할 것이다.

뇌졸중(腦卒中) 환자(患者)의 기능평가방법(機能評價方法)에 대(對)한 연구(硏究) (Study on function evaluation tools for stroke patients)

  • Our conclusions for function evaluation tools of Stroke patients are as follows. 1. Evaluating tools of Activities of Daily Living, Katz Index, Barthel Index, Modified Barthel Index have high validity and reliability because of ease of measuring, high accuracy, consistency, sensitivity and sufficient stastistics, but they mainly measure motor function except sense, mentation, language, and social conception. Therefore cerebrovascular disease and brain injury in trauma patients with lacked acknowledgement and sensation, we are not able to apply these tools. 2. PULSES Profile is a useful scale for measuring the patient's over-all status, upper and lower limb functions, sensory components, excretary functions, and intellectual and emotional adaptabilities. It is recognized as a good, useful tool to evaluate patient's whole function. 3. Motor Assessment Scale was designed to measure the progress of stroke patients. The scale was supplemented with upper arm function items. We believe that the Motor Assessment Scale could be a useful evaluation tool with inter-rater reliability ,test-retest reliability. 4. The existing evaluation tools, Katz Index, Barthel Index, Modified Barthel Index, PULSES Profile, Motor Assessment Scale, mainly measured the rehabilitational motor function of sequela of cerebrovascular patients. On the other hand CNS & INH stroke scale can measure cerebrovascular disease patient's neurologic deficits and over-all stautus, which are recognition ability, speech status, motor function, sensory function, activities of daily living. Those scales have been recognized as useful tools to measure function of cerebrovascular disease patients and have increased in use. 5. Every function evaluation tool was recognized to have some validity and inter-rater, test-retest reliability in items of each evaluation tool and total scores of each evaluation tools, but it is thought that none of these scales have been fully validated and proved reliable. Therefore afterward, the development of a highly reliable rating system may best be accomplished by a careful comparison of several tools, using the same patients and the same observers in order to choose the most reliable items from each. 6. Ideal evaluation tools must have the following conditions; (1) It should show the objective functional statues at the same time. (2) It should be repeated consecutively to know changed function status. (3) It should be easy to observe the treatment program. (4) It should have the same result with another rater to help rater exchange information with treatment team members. (5) It should be practical and simple. (6) The patient should not suffer from the observer.

Assessment of Total Transfer Capability Using IPLAN: An Application of UPFC for Total Transfer Capability Enhancement

  • Power transfer capability has been recently highlighted as a key issue in many utilities. It is determined by the thermal stability, dynamic stability and voltage stability limits of generation and transmission systems. In particular, voltage stability affects power transfer capability to a great extent in many power systems. This paper presents a tool for determining total transfer capability from a static voltage stability viewpoint using IPLAN, which is a high level language used with the PSS/E program. The tool was developed so as to analyze static voltage stability and to determine the total transfer capability between different areas from a static voltage stability viewpoint by tracing stationary behaviors of power systems. A unified power flow controller (UPFC) is applied for enhancing total transfer capability between different areas from the viewpoint of static voltage stability. Evaluation of the total transfer capability of a practical KEPCO power system is performed from the point of view of static voltage stability, and the effect of enhancing the total transfer capability by UPFC is analyzed.

The effectiveness and safety of cupping therapy for stroke survivors: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

  • Objectives: ncluding stroke. The aim of this study was to systematically review the clinical evidence of CT for stroke. Methods: To identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting the effectiveness and/or safety of CT, seven databases including PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library were searched for articles published from January 2000 to February 2021 without language restrictions. Meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.4 software and the results were presented as mean difference (MD) or standard mean difference (SMD) for continuous variables and odds ratio (OR) for diverse variables with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Assessment of the methodological quality of the eligible trials was conducted using the Cochrane Collaboration tool for risk of bias in RCTs. Results: Twenty-two RCTs with 1653 participants were included in the final analysis. CT provided additional benefit in improving upper limb motor function (Fugl-Meyer assessment for upper limb motor function, MD 6.91, 95% CI 4.64 to 1.67, P<0.00001) and spasticity (response rate, OR 3.28, 95% CI 1.31 to 8.22, P=0.08) in stroke survivors receiving conventional medical treatment. These findings were supported with a moderate level of evidence. CT did not significantly increase the occurrence of adverse events. Conclusions: This study demonstrated the potential of CT to be beneficial in managing a variety of complications in stroke survivors. However, to compensate for the shortcomings of the existing evidence, rigorously designed large-scale RCTs are warranted in the future.

  • This paper describes prototype Virtual Reality Ship Simulator (VRSS) that we have recently developed next-generation training equipment based on the virtual reality (VR) technology. The inherent defects of conventional ship simulators are enormous costs and difficult system upgrade due to the system construction, such as large mock-up bridge system, wide visual presentations, In this paper, to cope with those problems, we explored VR technology that can give realistic environments in a virtual world. Then we constructed prototype VRSS system, which is, consists of PC-based human sensors, and Databases set having 3D object models and coefficients of Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs). 3D-WEBMASTER authoring tool was used as Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). Using the VRSS system, we constructed Port an Passage Simulator for the harbor of INCHON in Korea, and Ship and Sea State Simulator for an arbitrary given sea environmental states by user. Through many simulation tests, we testified the efficiency of developed prototype VRSS by subject assessment with five participants. Then, we present results on the simulation experiments and conclude with discussion of evaluation results.

Acoustic Analysis of Speech Disorder Associated with Motor Aphasia - A Case Report -

  • Motor aphasia is an affection frequently caused by insult of the left middle cerebral artery and usually accompanied by a large lesion involving the Broca's area and the adjacent motor and premotor areas. Therefore, a patient with motor aphasia commonly shows articulatory disturbances due to failure of the motor programing of speech sound. Objective assessment and treatment of phonologic programing is one of the important aspects of speech therapy in aphasic patients. We analyzed the speech disorders acompanied with motor aphasia in a 45-year-old man using a computerized sound spectrograph, Visi-$Pitch{\circledR}$, and Multi-Dimensional Voice $Program{\circledR}$. We concluded that a computerized speech analysis system is a useful tool to visualize and quantitatively analyse the severity and progression of dysarthria, and the effect of speech therapy.

  • This robot programming system is designed for off-line programming of numerical controlled robot manipulator. This system consists of manipulation interpreter, world model manager, graphic simulator and arm controller for simple robot programming language. The system has graphic simulation system as a debugging tool for task programming and it simulates the robot motion graphically on a CRT terminal, which makes the assessment of the possible robot motion.

수치지형 해석에 의한 가시성 및 시인성의 경관정보화 연구 - CAD 기반의 분석 도구 개발을 중심으로 - (Development of a CAD Based Tool for the Analysis of Landscape Visibility and Sensitivity)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a CAD-based program for data analysis of digital elevation model(DEM) on the aspect of landscape assessment. When handling DEM data as a visual simulation of topographic landscape, it is basic interest to analyze visible area and visualize visual sensitivity distributions. In reference with landscape assessment, more intuitive and interactive visualizing tools are needed, specially in area of visual approach. For adaptability to landscape assessment, algorithmic approaches to visibility analysis and concepts for visual sensitivity calculation in this study were based on processing techniques of entity data control functions used in AutoCAD drawing database. Also, for the purpose of quantitative analysis, grid-type 3DFACE entities were adopted as mesh unit of DEM structure. Developed programs are composed of main part named VSI written in AutoLISP and two of interface modules written in dialog control language(DCL0 for user-oriented interactive usage. Definitions of camera points(view points) and target points(or observed area) are available alternatively in combined methods of representing scenic landscape, scenery, and sequential landscape. In the case of scene landscape(single camera to fixed target point), only visibility analysis in available. And total visibility, frequency of cumulative visibility, and visual sensitivity analysis are available in other cases. Visual sensitivity was thought as view angle(3 dimensional observed visual area) and the strengths were classified in user defined level referring to statistical characteristics of distribution. Visibility analysis routine of the VSI was proved to be more effective in the accuracy and time comparing with similar modules of existing AutoCAD third utility.

표준형 성인 암성 통증평가 도구 개발을 위한 암성 통증 어휘조사 (Words in the Korean Language Used to describe Pain in Cancer Patients - for the Development of Korean Cancer Pain Assessment Tool (K-CPAT) -)

  • 배경 : 통증은 암환자가 겪는 가장 흔한 증상 중 하나로, 정확한 통증 평가는 적절한 통증 치료를 위해 필수적이다. 한편 통증은 주관적인 문제이기 때문에 환자의 표현은 통증 상태의 가장 믿을만한 지표이다. 이에 실제 암 환자의 통증 표현 어휘를 조사하구 통증의 성격에 따른 통증어휘를 분석함으로 효율적인 통증평가 및 조절에 도움이 되고자 하였다. 방법 : 2002년 9월부터 11월 사이 서울과 경기도에 위치한 6개 대학병원에서 암진단을 받고 치료 중인 75명의 환자를 대상으로 조사자가 직접 면담하여 환자가 표현하는 통증 어휘를 조사하였고, 통증의 성격에 따른 어휘를 분류하였다. 수집된 통증 어휘를 7차례의 자문회의와 실무회의를 거쳐 정리하였고, 표준형 성인 암성 통증평가 도구'를 위해 통증의 성격 범주당 각 5개의 통증 어휘를 선정하였다. 결과 : 183개(중복포함)의 통증 표현 어휘가 추출되었고, 52종류의 어휘로 표준화되었다. 체성 통증, 내장성 통증, 신경병증성 통증 모두에서 '쑤시다'가 가장 빈도가 높았고, '결리다', '끊어지는 듯하다', '지긋이 아프다', '채찍으로 후리는 듯하다'는 체성 통증에서만 나타나면서 빈도가 높은 표현이었고, '쓰리다', '뒤틀리다', '묵직하다', '짓누르다'는 내장성 통증에서, '따갑다', '저리다'는 신경병증성 통증에서만 나타나면서 빈도가 높았다. 결론 : 통증의 성격을 대표하는 어휘를 각각 5개씩 선택하였는데, 체성 통증의 경우 '쑤시다', '결리다', '찢어지는 듯하다', '뻐개지는 듯하다', '찌르다'가, 내장성 통증의 경우 '쑤시다', '뻐근하다', '쓰리다', '뒤틀리다', '쥐어짜는 듯하다'가, 신경병성 통증의 경우 '화끈거리다', '저리다', '뻗치다', '찌릿찌릿하다', '피부가 닿기만해도 아프다'가 선정되었다.

대학 글쓰기 평가에서 인공지능 도구의 활용 가능성 탐색: 인간과 생성형 AI 간 평가 기준 비교 (Exploring the Potential of AI Tools in University Writing Assessment: Comparing Evaluation Criteria between Humans and Generative AI)

  • 본 연구는 Learning with AI 관점에서 출발하여, 인공지능이 생성한 글쓰기 평가 기준의 교육적 활용 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 구체적으로, 인공지능이 생성한 평가 기준과 인간이 개발한 기준 사이의 공통점과 차이점을 체계적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 연구 문제는 1) 인공지능 도구가 생성한 글쓰기 평가 기준은 어떤 특성을 가지는가? 2) 인간과 인공지능 도구가 생성한 글쓰기 평가 기준은 서로 어떠한 공통점과 차이점을 갖는가?로 설정하였다. GPT와 Claude를 대표적인 인공지능 도구로 선정하여 대학생 글쓰기 평가 기준을 생성하게 한 후, 그 결과물을 인간이 만든 글쓰기 평가 기준과 대조하였다. 연구 결과, 인간과 인공지능 도구 모두 글의 내용과 관련한 평가 범주에 가장 높은 중요도를 부여한다는 공통점을 보였다. 그러나, 인간은 내용, 조직, 어법 등 세 개의 주요 범주로 평가하였으나, 인공지능 도구들은 형식 및 인용, 독창적(비판적) 사고, 전체적 인상 등의 추가 범주를 포함하여 평가 기준을 제시하였다. 전반적으로 인간은 각 평가 범주 내에서 상세한 항목을 포함하는 반면, 인공지능 도구들은 간결하게 항목을 설정하였다. 특히, 인공지능 도구가 영어를 기반으로 개발되었기 때문에 발생하는 언어적 차이점과 각 항목별 배점 체계와 관련한 차이점이 발견되었다. 이를 통해, 인간과 인공지능의 협력적 평가 모델 개발에 대한 중요한 시사점을 제시하였으며, 향후 교육평가 장면에서 인공지능의 보완적 도구로서의 역할을 탐색하였다.
