While buildings in recent days become taller and larger, many problems occur during the management of construction. Particularly, as the vertical movement of manpower and materials during construction has become longer while the lifting frequency and load increase, the need for a good lifting management practice is also increasing. Therefore, this study presents a real-time lifting performance monitoring system that can store and manage lifting records for construction management. Through review of literature and preceding studies related to construction lift, the concept of lift planning and operation management was understood, leading to the development of a system to monitor lifting operation and performance information. This system enabled quick measurement of the lifting performance during construction phase while responding to changes in the project schedule. To verify this system, a case study was conducted in which the current status and characteristics of the sensing-based lifting performance were derived.

The purpose of this study is to analyze contemporary changes of landcover patterns and landscape structure in order to provide basic data and methods for sustainable management and conservation in Baekdu Daegan region using GIS and landscape indices. According to the results based on the pattern analysis of landcover changes using the change detection matrix between 1975 and 2000, addition on $3.6km^2$ became urbanized areas. Otherwise, $85.7km^2$ of forest area shift into agriculture($72.2km^2$) and grass area($10.1km^2$) for the vegetables in highland condition and stock farm. According to the landscape structure analysis using landscape indices, forest areas were unstable forest structures because of fragmentation. Thus, to improve forest ecosystem, significant amount of forest through a new forest management policy considering local environmental conditions are needed. And, the connectivity of forests in local regions should be considered as well.

While there have many completions of large parks recently under development, there has been a dearth of quality assessments. Studies focused on post-evaluation have been made to resolve this, but most of these are biased toward user satisfaction after completion and therefore behaviour analysis has limitations on solving problemsduring the actual design implementation processes. Therefore, this study examined the internal phenomenon and structure of the implementation process of design competition through the ground theory and microscopic independent perspective. As a result, maintaining the identity and differentiation of parks derived from the preserved design competition scheme contributed greatly to completeness and satisfaction. Outcomes were mainly caused by the trust of public officials as the ordering organization, the will of policy decision-makers, and the competence of operational enterprises, etc. Negative factors such as undermining the whole concept of the park and landscape occurred as external pressure and related subjects intruded on change design factors due to variations in social conditions. Additionally, illogical construction processes occurred, such as a reinvestigation of the budget for restoration after damaging on original landscape. There have been needs for the improvement of the work processing system. On balance, an interventional role is very important in the park construction process, especially the PA and operation committee in terms of maintaining the basic direction, landscape design supervision for detailed designs, and expert construction management on LA in terms of rational work management in the field. The study, using the microscopic perspective of the designer and ground theory, deliver significant meaning as an early study by suggesting alternative methods for the after-evaluation of large parks and structurally looking into main influence factors driven during the construction process.
This study purposed to construct supply and demand potential map of forest bioenergy with a GIS-based decision support system. The target areas of this study were a part of the forests in Yongdong region, Gangwondo, and most types of forests were pinus densiflora, pinus koreaiansis, and Oak. Data about forest type, age classes, the number of households, regional silviculture planning was stored in GIS to define the potential areas for supplying potential bioenergy from the forests, and to assess biomass available for a household. Theoretical potential biomass energy based on silviculture plan was estimated in average 3,144 Tcal, and this quantity will be enough to supply the quantity of demand of households in that area. However, if it assumed that average collecting rates of Kangwon province were 10%, the available quantity of biomass will be between 6% and 15% of demand. If the collecting rates were 60%, the supply of biomass could exceed the quantity of demand in certain cities.

In recent years, the relationships and inter-dependencies between the countries in East Asia have deepened, and the vision for regional cohesion such as the East Asian Community have been gradually elaborated. A Grand Design for Northeast Asia is one of these comprehensive visions that aim to improve and develop international infrastructure through cooperation in the field of transportation, energy, environment, and information technology. This study paid attention to the possibility for a system for regional cohesion and cooperation in spatial development in East Asia, and analyzed the roles of the ESDP according to the requirements of the East Asian situation. As a result, it was understood that while the development of infrastructure is a main stream in the case of the regional cohesion in East Asia, the cooperative visions for the conservation of natural and cultural heritage, which are being positioned as an important policy in the EU, have not been seen. It is a very important subject to promote the policy cohesion/cooperation on the conservation and management of natural/cultural heritage and the development of tourism infrastructure for the sustainable development of East Asia, considering the trends in the growth of the interchange population and tourism market in East Asia. It was discussed that the role of research networks like the International Landscape Architectural Symposium of Korea, China and Japan is becoming important in supporting this policy cohesion and in grasping the present conditions and trends of the spatial development of these counties.

In Korea, a cooperation charge on conservation of ecosystem is imposed to prevent indiscriminate development. The total amount of this charge is determined by multiplying the size of the destroyed area by a value per unit area and the area index within 5 billion won. Since 2001, the charge per unit area has been determined to be $250won/m^2$. In this study, we estimated the unit value of ecosystem services per year using benefit transfer method, with a focus on forest resources. According to our results, forest resources have a value of about $3,500won/m^2$ per year. When the non-use value is subtracted, that figure becomes approximately $1,300won/m^2$. If this value incorporates the unit value of the cooperation charge on conservation of ecosystem, it will increase. To comply with the original intent of the cooperation charge on conservation of ecosystem, the fund must be used to improve ecosystem services, including the restoration of a destroyed area or the purchase of new land.
The Stream/River Ecosystem Survey and Health Assessment has been carried out regarding the ecological health of the streams by the Ministry of Environment (MOE), South Korea. However, the sources of impairment of the stream ecosystem and the interactions between the sources, stressors, and the responses of impaired streams have not been taken into consideration. The purpose of this study is to propose the establishment of diagnosis systems for the impaired stream ecosystem because of the need to incorporate the same in the making of the policy to enable the recovery and improvement of the health of the impaired streams or river ecosystem. First, we define the concept of a diagnosis of the impaired stream or river ecosystem through a literature review. Second, through case studies [e.g., US CADDIS (Causal Analysis/Diagnosis Decision Information System), AUS. Eco Evidence, EU WFD (Water Framework Directive)], we try to develop the diagnosis system for the making of policy. In this study, the diagnosis system that is proposed consists of eight steps including the basic data collection, detecting or suspecting impairment, defining the impaired stream reach, identifying the biological impaired cases and listing the candidate causes, illustrating the interactive conceptual diagrams between stressors and responses, investigating the stressors-responses in the field, verifying causes and identifying the probable causes of the impaired cases, and summarizing and proposing the restoration of the streams. The results of this study will support and enable efficient decision-making for sustainable stream restoration and management based on the diagnosis of the probable causes for the impaired complex and the diverse stream ecosystem.
Now, a management plan is being prepared to conserve the landscape and eco-system of Hallasan National Park. A major concern of park managers and residents is the visual impact that activities have of the Mt. Hala landscape. One of the most important aspects of making management decisions is assessing the visual impact of proposed actions accurately enough to judge whether or not those actions are acceptable. Park managers and residents need methods they can use to assess the visual impact of various management actions. The impact of proposed management activities was portrayed by CCG Photomontage techniques and viewers rated sets of color photomontages on a 7 point SD scale. The findings were as follows : the CCG Photomontage is quite practical, vegetation restoration is necessary, and the proposed management actions are feasible. The visual simulation technique and assessment method in this research helps residents visualize and respond to management activities, making residents' participation in the planning process more effective.

The coastal area is the place where two conflicting values provide opportunities for recreation, tourism and conservation of the natural environment. Most of these coastal areas have been disregarded in terms of tourism because of the high value placed on natural resources. Management strategy has usually been first on the priority list of natural. resources. However, due to the significant number of visitors, the Important-Satisfaction Analysis(ISA) was applied as a mean of complement since the 1970s. This study analyzed the difference between visitor satisfaction and the importance of the main management strategy targeting visitors to Sun-cheon Bay Ecological Park on weekdays and weekends. Results show that Sun-cheon Bay Ecological Park and the city government have paid a lot of attention and invested a lot of money, but efficiency of publicity didn't come up to their afford. Therefore, we should prepare information facilities, public education facilities and human power. Also needed are visitors' temporal-spacial control to set specific programs and a guide for information education control. It means visitors' company forms change depends on weekday and weekend. In addition, a breeding space for birds should be built for observation, education and exhibition to help meet visitor expectations. Visitors' positive satisfaction might be provided in establishing strategy as a very important measure in limited area. In conclusion, this study might be provided as preliminary data when the management strategy and related guidelines are established through the management priority of coastal regions where importance and satisfaction conflict.

This study focused on cases that led sustainable urban development through the construction and utilization of organic greenery systems linking green spaces of urban peripheries with metropolitan areas. To that end, Berlin - Brandenburg's regional parks in Germany and Milan's Raggi Verdi, a radial green axis project, in Italy were selected for analysis as case studies. As frameworks for this analysis, this study has established existing infrastructure accessibility and linkage, recycling and cooperative management. The results of the case study analysis are as follows: First, the specialized spatial strategy based on the individuality of the green space outside the city rather than a uniform landscape was used as the foundation of the sustainable development plan. Second, physical linkage from the center of the city to the periphery contributed to the sustainable development of the overall metropolis by improving the economic value of the surrounding area as well as ecological and environmental values. Third, the central management system was established to reduce the administrative inconvenience caused by multiple administrative districts in the green space of urban periphery. The implications of applying the above results to Seoul, Korea are as follows. First, it is necessary to establish a differentiation strategy by re-establishing the identity of a green landscape in the urban periphery, because the green spaces of Seoul's periphery are dispersed and mostly have a repetitious mountain landscape. Also, it is necessary to actively link peripheral mountains and urban green areas to create ecological value and economic value, and ultimately to help the sustainable development of the city. Finally, building an integrated management system is required to solve fragmented green space management departments in most of the urban periphery's green spaces. In conclusion, this study shows the significant possibility that the sustainable development of a metropolis can be derived from the utilization, linkage, and management of the green space in the urban peripheries, which is extraordinary compared to normal centralized urban development.
