  • This main study was the subject of the play facilities of children picnicking place which was installed in apartment complex. As to the production period of the facilities, the materiality and the materials of the play facilities, we examined the safety estimation about them. And we drew up a plan which could build and manage the children play facilities improved the better. According to the installation place, the result of safety estimation, the safety of play facilities in Ga-Kyeong-dong apartment complex which built up after 1997 years was the most excellent, the play facilities of Sa-Gik-Dong apartment Complex which built long ago have showed even poorer in all items of safety estimation. According to the materiality of play facilities, though the safety of association play rod in the safety estimation was the most excellent, the safety of swing was the very poor. According to the materiality of materials, the association of wood, stainless in the safety estimation was the safest. Especially, even though wood is soft and kind materials, as it has a shortcoming, the practical use depreciates. If iron materials like stainless associates with wood, we have thought that they have the good effect of the practical use. We have judged that the distance of contiguity facilities and the safety of corrosion or rottenness within the item of safety estimation as a subordination variable were the poorest. The arrangement of play facilities and the selection of materials happened to these problems. And we have known that they should get accomplished the construction work to make a plan thoroughly from it early.

  • In Seoul, the capital of South Korea, developers of apartment complexes are responsible for including community facilities - senior citizen centers, child care centers, small libraries, and so forth - according to the current Regulations on the Housing Construction Standard Article 2 and 55. These standards have long required certain community facilities, depending on the number of households in each apartment complex, without fully considering whether such provisions meet that community's needs. In this study, we aimed to reveal whether the current provision of community facilities responds to local preference. We conducted surveys of residents in randomly selected ten apartment complexes in Seoul to determine residents' preferences on community facilities using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). We then compared the survey results with these complexes' current facilities. Our findings showed mismatches between residents' preferences and provisions: outdoor sports facilities, child care centers, and small libraries were found to be strongly preferred, but not provided in some apartment complexes within the study, whereas less-preferred facilities such as senior citizen centers were provided in all complexes. Through this study, we could conclude that current standards regarding the provision of community facilities in Seoul's apartment complexes should be altered to reflect the preferences of residents in apartment complexes.

  • The main purpose of this study is to suggest fundamental materials and a guideline for design through grouping of the users' use route patterns and analyzing determinants to choose those route patterns in urban parks. Study sites were Jungang, Dlseong, and Beomeo park, where located Taegu city-Key results obtained through a series of investigation were as follows : When Users come in and out urban parks, most orientations of their use routes were counterclockwise, and not in such cases, greatly affected by facilities arrangement. There were a large number of users in the main route placed the principal facilities. Users' use route patterns were grouped by their characteristics, which were circulation, semi-circulation, irregular, and piston type. And all the types except piston type can be subdivided into spoon and loope type. Factors analysis to the types produced five meaningful patterns of variables. Five factors were named as dimension of characteristics : Park composition factor, facilities use factor, users' personal factor, park use behavioral factor, routes choice factor.

  • Solar power facilities to reduce carbon emissions are continuously being installed in forests, farmland, city, and on water. However, research on visual preferences and the psychological impact on observers after installing solar power facilities is insufficient. Therefore, in this study, shooting was conducted according to the viewing distance of the near, middle, and distant views of Hapcheon Dam, Korea's largest floating photovoltaic power plant. The acquired images were edited using Photoshop to compare the presence or absence of floating photovoltaic power generation facilities. In addition, psychological changes and visual preferences were analyzed through an EEG test and questionnaire among 50 participants. The results are summarized, as follows. First, the installation of water photovoltaic power generation facilities has a passive impact on the subjects' psychological changes and visual preference. Second, the psychological changes due to the installation of water photovoltaic power generation facilities were judged to affect almost all research subjects, regardless of nationality, gender, or universisty major. Third, the visual preference for installing the water photovoltaic power generation facility is low, which can be interpreted as the water photovoltaic power generation facility negatively affecting the "friendliness" and "naturalness" of the landscape. In addition, this change in visual preference was found to differ depending on the gender and universiity major of the subjects. Fourth, the psychological change and visual preference of the floating photovoltaic power generation facility according to the viewing distance, found that the close range had a higher effect than the middle and distant ranges.
