Karyotypes of Korean Endemic Land Snail, Koreanohadra koreana (Gastropoda: Bradybaenidae)

  • The karyotypes of Korean endemic land snail, Koreanohadra koreana, using air-drying method wereinvestigated. Somatic cells of this species had 2n = 58. Karyotypes were also analysed with 16 metacentric, 12 submetacentric and one subtelocentric chromosome pairs. Observed chromosomes ranged from 2.6 to $8.9{\mu}m$ and the total length was $122.3{\mu}m$. This is the second report on the chromosome numbers and the karyotype of K. koreana.

인장을 받는 고강도철근콘크리트 부재의 정착성능 평가 (Development Properties of Rebar in Tension with High Strength Concrete)

  • 인장을 받는 고강도콘크리트 부재의 정착특성을 평가하고 KCI 2007 정착길이 산정기준의 적용가능성을 평가하기 위하여 콘크리트강도와 정착길이, 섬유혼입률을 변수로 한 정착실험을 수행하였다. 정착실험 수행 결과, 인장을 받는 80MPa의 고강도콘크리트 부재에서 KCI 2007의 최소정착길이의 적용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 고강도콘크리트의 내화성능을 확보하기 위하여 혼입되는 섬유(NY+PP)는 0.1%까지 혼입하여도 고강도콘크리트의 정착특성에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

CFD를 이용한 슬롯 다이 헤드 내부의 유체 분포 분석 (Study on Fluid Distribution in Slot-die Head Using CFD)

  • Using a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulation tool, we have offered a design guideline of a slot-die head having a simple T-shaped cavity through an analysis of the fluid dynamics in terms of cavity pressure and outlet velocity, which affect the uniformity of coated thin films. We have visualized the fluid flow with a transparent slot-die head where poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is injected. We have shown that the fluid dynamics inside the slot-die head depends sensitively on the cavity depth, cavity length, land length, and channel gap (i.e., shim thickness). Of those, the channel gap is the most critical parameter that determines the uniformity of the pressure and velocity distributions. A pressure drop inside the cavity is shown to be reduced with decreasing shim thickness. To quantify it, we have also calculated the coefficient of variation (CV). In accordance with Hagen-Poiseuille's laws and electron-hydraulic analogy, the CV value is decreased with increasing cavity depth, cavity length, and land length.

Effect of Underwater Gait Training with a Progressive Increase in Speed on Balance, Gait, and Endurance in Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of progressive speed increase during underwater gait training on stroke patients' balance, gait, and endurance, as well as to compare the effects of underwater gait training and land gait training. Methods: Subjects were randomly allocated into three groups. Underwater gait training group (n=10), land gait training group (n=9) and control group (n=9). The groups performed their respective programs as well as conventional physical therapy 3 times/week for 8 weeks. The patients were assessed before and after the experiment in terms of the Berg balance scale, characteristics of gait, and 6-minute walking test. Results: The beneficial effect perceived in the speed increase underwater gait training (UGT) group was significantly greater than in the groups who were trained with speed increase land gait training (LGT) group, and the control group regarding the following aspects: the Berg balance scale, the affected step length, the affected stride length, and the 6-minute walking test (p<0.05). The LGT group showed a more significant effect on the Berg balance scale, the affected step length, the affected stride length, and the 6-minute walking test (p<0.05), compared to the control group. Furthermore, the UGT group showed a significantly greater effect on the gait speed when compared to the control groupb (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study shows that progressive UGT is effective in improving balance, gait, and endurance in stroke patients. Therefore, we believe that progressive UGT may be used as a method for general physical therapy in patients with stroke.

부틸고무의 압출을 위한 압출해석 및 다이설계 (Computer Simulation of Extrusion and Die Design for the Extrusion of Butyl Rubber)

  • 건축용 접착제로 활용되고 있는 부틸고무는 주로 시트의 형태로 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 해석을 통해 부틸고무 시트 압출용 다이를 설계하였다. 압출용 다이의 내부는 크게 매니폴드와 랜드로 나뉜다. 매니폴드는 다이중앙에서 유입되는 재료가 폭 방향으로 흐름이 이루어 지도록 하는 역할을 한다. 랜드는 재료가 흐름 방향으로 균일하게 흐르게 하여 균일한 두께의 시트가 성형되도록 한다. 다이는 매니폴드와 랜드 외에도 아일랜드를 설치하여 흐름의 안정을 주도록 하는 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 해석을 통하여 다이에서 매니폴드의 각도와 길이, 랜드 길이 그리고 아일랜드를 설계 변수로 하여 다이 출구에서 다이 폭 방향으로 균일한 흐름이 형성되도록 하는 최적의 다이형상을 연구하였다.

기계화를 전제로 한 산간경사지답경지정리방안에 관한 연구(II) (A Study on the Methodology of Land-Consolidation Sloping Paddies in land Vallry for the Farm-Mechanization (II))

  • The paddy fiels slope located in Kangweon province Hwyongsung gun Gonggeun myon Shinchonri was considerably steep and so it was impossible to economically consolidate the field up to date. But for the porpose of farm mechanization, the field (32. 27ha) was consolidated by the auther under the assitance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery and,;the Administration of Kangweon province. This paddy field consolidation was caused by the treatise on "Land-consolidation methods for farm mechanization in the steep-sloped paddy field", of which the auther is the same. The constrution was carried out from September, 1981 to April, 1982. During the 4esign and construction, some Peculiarities were found and discussed. That is, in design, besides the common condititions for a design, some special conditions were considered and written below; (1) The ranges of field slope in this design were 1/100-1/30. (2) Long sides of the land readjustment blocks must be arranged abreast contour line, and so they make the amount of cutting and banking decreased so as to take the maximum advantage of the configuration of the field. (3) In design, the main principles of dividing blocks were written below; i) First of all, long side of a block should be drawn straight abreast a contour line. ii) Long side of a block should arrange abreast contour line and make its length 100-150m, if not, l)reak the side in order to make a bended rectangle. iii) Length of a short side should be determinded within differences of elevation (0.6 -1. 2m) between the two adjacent blocks toward the normal to a contour line. iv) Length of a short side should be above 15m and the ratio of long and short side should be slso kept 1: (4-6). v) A new field surface leveling was determinded from the elevation which produce the least amount of cuttingand banking within the range of 0.6-1. 2m diffe rences of elevation between the two adjacent blocks. vi) In the course of dividing blocks with the same width along the line which was normal to a contour line, all blocks connot keep their shape in a retangle because of steep slope of the field and so on, and so it was also necessory to make some non-retanglar and small blocks such as a trianglar or trapezoidal shape, which was impossible to use some of farm machinery. But because this non-rectanglar and small blocks were divided, larger and many rectanglar blocks can be divided and construction cost can also be lowered. According to the conditions discussed above, the paddy field consolidation project designed and constructed. And the results of this study were obtained as below; (1) Three-forth of total cost of this paddy field consolidation was not construction cost, and these cost consist of land grading (1/4), road and canal construction cost (1/4) and the other cost (1/4) such as surveying or materials and 56 on. (2) The steeper the land slope, the greater cost was assigned for road and canal construction, and than land grading. (3) Curtailment of the road and canal construction cost depended on simplificating their strutures. (4) In the case of the land slopes were low, the land grading cost was high by 1: 1.4 in comparison with the road and canal construction cost, and conversely when the slops were steep, the road and canal construction cost was high by 1 : 5 in compa- rison with the land grading cost. (5) The densities of irrigation canal, drainage canal and trunk and branch road were 150. Sm/ha, 60. im/ha and 17. 4m/ha respectively. The density of irrigation canal of the area was high by 2 times in comparison with the average one of Kangweon Province, and the others were nearly the same. (6) Most farmers (above 85%) knew the effects of paddy field consolidation. The effects are; 1) Improvement of irrigation 2) Improvement of farm management 3) Improvement of transportarion 4) farm mechanization and 5) grouping of the scattered land. And the more farm modernization was accomplished by these projects, the more farmers wanted to live in their land. (7) In spite of the very steep sloped paddy field, the diminution rate of the net farm land caused by consolidation was 7.7% which was nearly the same as the one of Chulweon plain of Kangweon province. Land grading cost was 971, OOOwon/ha which was rather cheap by 13.2% than the one of Ghulweon plain, and unit construction cost was 5, 341, OOOwon/ha (included soil addition) which was also nearly the same as the one of Chulweon plain and FNFIA (The federation of national farmland improvement association).

보장구획의 장단변화에 따른 경운기의 기종별 이경작업 효력에 관한 연구 (studdyon the Field Efficiency of the Plowing Operation of the Power Tillers in accordance withthe Various Field Dimensions.)

  • In order to obtain the field efficiency of the power tiller plowing on the various size of and its length-width field tests were performed with 8ps.10ps. power tiller popularly used in the korean rural area, and Satoh 5ps. made in Japan, Land Master 5ps. made in England were tested to compare with the field efficiency of the above power tillers. The results obtained in this tests were as follows ; 1. In considering of the resting time and the refueling time and others, the field efficiency of Satoh was the highest among the power tillers as to be 80%, at the 8ps. power tiller 76.5%, at the 10ps. power tiller 79.3% and the lowest field efficiency was obtained at the Land Master as 75.7%. 2. The field efficiency of the each power tiller increased as the ratio of the length to width of the field was increased. 3. The increasing rate of field efficiency was much bigger in the below the ratio of 5 : 1 but at the upper ratio increased above, the ratio was nearly constant. 4. The field efficiency of the power tiller was higher at the smaller power tiller than the larger, except the Land Master , because of easily operating and turning of the power tiller by virtue of its lighter weight.

京安川 流域의 土地利用에 따른 河川物質의 變化 (Changes in Stream Water Quality According to Land Use at Kyong-an Stream)

  • The relationship between land uses and water quality was investigated at Kyong-an Stream. Some 70% of this watershed was forested area, half of which was comprised of Pinus densilflora community. Concentrations of $NH_4^{+},\;NO_3^{-},\;NO_2^{-}, total nitrogen, $Cl^{-},\;PO_4^{3-}$, DO, and BOD increased gradually from upstream to downstream, whereas heavy metals did not have such tendancy with the exception of a few sites. Urban area was significantly correlated with hardness and chloride concentration. Relationship among phosphate concentration(P), cultivated field area(F), and stream length(S) in each basin was P = 1.7912 F/S+0.0103. the concentration of $NH_4^{+}$ was positively correlated with the population size and cow density within the catchment. The effect of urban area(U) and stream length of the pH(pH) was represented by pH = -4.7344 U/S+6.52. It can be concluded that the control of nonpoint source pollution as well as point source pollution is one of the important problems of water quality management, especially geological properties must be considered for sustainable development.

토양에서 분리한 곤충병원성세균 Bacillus thuringiensis 의 혹명나방과 벼애나방에 대한 실내살충효과검정 및 생물학적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Pesticidal Activities and Effect on Its Biological Characteristics of Bacillus thuringiensis Strains from Soil against Rice Pests, Cnaphalocrosis medinalis and Maranga aenescens)

  • 벼에 발생하여 잎을 가해하여 피해를 주는 혹명나방(Cnaphalocrosis medinalis)과 벼애나방(Naranga aenescens)의 곤충병원성미생물을 이용한 친환경적 방제를 위해, 국내토양에서 분리된 Bacillus thuringiensis 균주들을 대상으로 생물검정을 수행하였다. 실험에 이용한 Bt 53균주 중, 약 18개 균주가 혹명나방에 90% 이상의 살충률을 나타내었고, 13개 균주가 벼애나방에 살충활성을 보였는데, 두 종 모두에 90% 이상의 살충률을 보이는 균주도 CAB141균주를 비롯해 11균주나 확인되었다. 이러한 균주들은 혹명나방에 대한 실내방제실험결과, 96%이상의 방제효과를 나타내기도 하였다. 또한 Bt 포자현탁액에 노출된 유충의 용화율, 용길이, 우화율이 감소되는 경향이 나타났는데, 혹명나방의 경우, 번데기 길이에서도 정상개체와 처리 후 생존개체가 현저한 차이를 나타내었다.
