  • Agriculture in South Korea is losing productivity due to the lack of manpower as aging population increases. To overcome this, the agricultural robot market is growing rapidly, and research is being conducted on remote control and autonomous driving of agricultural robots. This work designs the appearance and structure of agricultural robots and implements the devices and control systems for driving. By utilizing and optimizing LiDAR sensors, we applied object recognition technology, which is an essential function for autonomous driving. This can reduce labor costs and improve productivity of transportation tasks that require the most labor in agriculture.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) use for information access by visually and physically impaired persons in public university libraries in Kenya

  • This article is a spinoff of a doctoral study that was completed at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) in 2018 on provision of information services to persons with visual and physical impairments in public university libraries in Kenya. The article examined how ICTs such as internet, e-resources and e-databases, word processing, websites and more were being used in public university libraries to provide access to information by visually and physically impaired persons. Data were collected from the visually and physically impaired students, University Librarians, Systems librarians, staff from disability departments and library staff who provided services to visually and physically impaired persons. The findings revealed that the visually and physically impaired persons in most of the libraries could not access information owing to lack of the necessary assistive and adaptive technologies and weak institutional support and framework. The study recommend that the libraries improve assistive technology infrastructure, embrace new assistive technologies such as telepresence robots, virtual realities and more, and put in place enabling policies and capacity building programmes for library staff to enable them to provide services to persons with impairments.

  • The broadband access network is a worldwide trend and the related IPTV service is booming. However, the IPTV deployment has been delayed in Korea because of the business relationship between the communication and broadcasting area and the lack of the related laws. As a means to the development of FTTH-based high-quality service platform and next-generation equipment, ETRI has been building own FTTH service center with a network operation center and IPTV service equipments, also connecting it with commercial FTTH infrastructures made by network operators. In this paper, we describe the related technologies about FTTH-based IPTV testbed.

  • Recently demands in construction of the stand-alone networks and interconnection between convergence devices have led an increase in research on and much attention has been paid to the application of MANET as a Ubiquitous network which is growing fast. With performance both as hosts and routers, easy network configuration, and fast response, mobile nodes participating in MANET are suitable for Embedded computing, but have vulnerable points, such as lack of network scalability and dynamic network topology due to mobility, passive attacks, active attacks, which make continuous security service impossible. In this study, hashed AODV routing is used to protect from counterfeiting messages by malicious nodes in the course of path finding and setting, and disguising misrouted messages as different mobile nodes and inputting them into the network.

In this study, proposes S-EKE authentication mechanism for a robust authentication based on MANET and through identify wireless environment security vulnerabilities, currently being used in OTP S/Key and DH-EKE analyzes.

  • Today, The much amount of spam that occupies the mail server and network storage occurs the lack of negative issues, such as overload, and for users to delete the spam should spend time, resources have a problem. Automatic spam filtering on the incidence to solve the problem is essential. A lot of Spam filters have tried to solve the problem emerged as an essential element automatically. Unlike traditional method such as Naive Bayesian, PCA through the many-dimensional data set of spam with a few spindle-dimensional process that narrowed the operation to reduce the burden on certain groups for classification Logistic regression analysis method was used to filter the spam. Through the speed and performance, it was able to get the positive results.

  • In facing the lack of a deterministic algorithm for economic load dispatch optimization problem, only non-deterministic heuristic algorithms have been suggested. Worse still, there is a near deficiency of research devoted to real-time load dispatch optimization algorithm. In this paper, therefore, I devise a shut-off and swap algorithm to solve real-time load dispatch optimization problem. With this algorithm in place, generators with maximum cost-per-unit generation power are to be shut off. The proposed shut-off criteria use only quadratic function in power generation cost function without valve effect nonlinear absolute function. When applied to the most prevalent economic load dispatch benchmark data, the proposed algorithm is proven to largely reduce the power cost of known algorithms.

  • The public broadcasting in Korea are currently financed primarily through license fees paid by anyone who holds a TV set. This paper aimed for other options; How can we have a stable cash flow for public broadcasting account for right incentives, lack of sufficient government intervention, efficiency and quality? As this paper shows, bringing taxes more efficient and fairer, while a solid foundation for the public broadcasting finance; combined with an incentive based payment system this may be a sensible alternative to the forthcoming poll tax.

  • Recently artificial intelligence technology has been introduced in various fields and various machine learning models have been operated in various frameworks as academic interest has increased. However, these frameworks have different data formats, which lack interoperability, and to overcome this, the open neural network exchange format, ONNX, has been proposed. In this paper we describe how to transform multiple machine learning models to ONNX, and propose algorithms and inference systems that can determine machine learning techniques in an integrated ONNX format. Furthermore we compare the inference results of the models before and after the ONNX transformation, showing that there is no loss or performance degradation of the learning results between the ONNX transformation.

  • At present, several artificial intelligence projects in the healthcare and medical field are competing with each other, and the interfaces between the systems lack unified specifications. Thus, this study presents an artificial intelligence platform for healthcare and medical fields which adopts the deep learning technology to provide algorithms, models and service support for the health and medical enterprise applications. The suggested platform can provide a large number of heterogeneous data processing, intelligent services, model managements, typical application scenarios, and other services for different types of business. In connection with the suggested platform application, we represents a medical service which is corresponding to the trusted and comprehensible tracking and analyzing patient behavior system for Health and Medical treatment using Internet of Behavior concept.
