Developing standardized dietetic staffing indices in employee foodservice by job analysis methodology (사업체 급식소 영양사 직무분석 ( 제 2 보 ) : 업무수행시간 및 적정인원산출)

  • The purposes of this study were to : a) investigate actual time spent and expected labor time spent on management activities, and b) develop standardized indices of dietetic staffing needs in employee foodservice. A job analysis questionnaires were developed and mailed to 65 dietitians who were members of The Korean Dietetic Association Practice Group, members with management responsibilities in employee foodservices. Completed questionnaires were received from 32 dietitians for a response rate of 49%. The questionnaire contained two parts with a total of 99 statements. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS programs for descriptive analysis, wilcoxon signed ranks test, wilcoxon rank sum test, and pearson correlation. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1. The actual time spent on management activities by dietitians in employee foodservice was 69.80 hours and expected labor time spent was 61.81 hours. And they were significantly different (p<0.05). 2. ILO allowance rate( 11%) was applied: The standardized working hours per week of dietitians working in employee foodservice with manufacturing and industrial plants, and office building were 79.61 and 64.25 respectively ; Staffing need indices were 1.81 and 1.46 respectively on the base of 44 working hours. 3. Statistical Difference of Production Efficiency in Medicinal Crop Farm (약용작물 재배농가의 생산효율성 통계적 차이에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose::This study aims to analyze the management performance and production efficiency of medicinal crop farmers. Methods: We conducted an empirical survey of medicinal crop farmers and analyzed production efficiency using DEA method. Results: First, The crops that increased the number of farms during 2010 and 2018 were Angelica tenuissima and Salvia miltiorrhiza, which was attributed to higher income per hour than other crops. Second, As for the efficiency of Liriope platyphylla, the average was 0.376, and the coefficient of variation was the lowest, 0.566. Third, Salvia miltiorrhiza and Atractylodes japonica had the highest technical efficiency after Liriope platyphylla, but the variation coefficient was high and the efficiency was relatively high. Fourth, As a result of performing variance analysis to find out the difference of each crops on the value of medicinal crop efficiency, the technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency, and scale efficiency were all statistically significant. Conclusion: Based on the results above, following policy suggestions are offered. First, It is necessary to provide information on crops with high income compared to the input of labor, and to develop labor-saving cultivation technologies for each crop. Second, A stable labor supply system will be needed in rural areas. Third, Efforts should be made to close the technological gap between farmers through a lot of education and consulting for farmers who grow medicinal crops.

Job Satisfaction and Business Attitude of Restaurant Owners - Focused Mainly in the Gyeone-nam Area - (외식업 경영주의 직업만족도 및 경영의식 조사연구 - 경남지 역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this research was to analyze the job satisfaction and business attitudes of restaurant owners in order to explore solutions for improving restaurant management. The results were as follows : 1) The motive for starting a restaurant business was vocational aptitude \longrightarrow possibilities \longrightarrow good income : 2) In terms of job satisfaction, most respondents were satisfied with both the work itself and the income. It was also observed that the younger owners were more satisfied with their jobs than the older owners : 3) Increased costs, including labor and food costs, was indicated as the biggest problem in restaurant management. Respondents also perceived labor shortage as one of the most difficult problems. Men were more likely than women to consider the following problems as being more serious: rent, financial problems, taxes, regulation restrictions, menu development and customer complaints. It was found that as the size of the restaurants grew, the respondents perceived the shortage of labor as the hardest part of running a business : 4) Respondents agreed that employing good foodservice workers was the most important part of foodservice management. Owners also believed that they needed more research time for menu and service development 5) To be successful, the restaurant owners paid the most careful attention to food taste. Service, sanitation, and menu development were also emphasized. Respondents stressed the focus on service, good relationships, diligence, and faithfulness in order to be a good restaurant owner. The results of this research suggest that restaurant owners should have more professional conscientiousness to succeed in their own businesses, as well as improve the quality of the foodservice industry. Other important aspects related to the overall improved quality of the foodservice industry are: the continuation of government support, the enlargement of educational opportunities and greater respect for foodservice employees.   • In the cost management of public construction projects, it is an important issue to develop an adequate cost data for estimating the predetermined amount by various methods. For a long time, a standard of estimation in korea is used as a basis for estimating the predetermined amount of public construction. However, they did not have a reasonable cost data based on a labor and equipment productivity analysis. For this reason, it is difficult to make a reasonable and efficient estimation of the costs, and this situation presents an urgent need for more accurate cost data to use in an early phase. This study analyzed the productivity of form work by the CYCLONE model, and presented the model on the number of optimal labor through sensitivity analysis. This CYCLONE model can be useful in analyzing productivity on the various sizes of form. Also, the regression model to estimate the daily output can be used in predicting the amount of labor. Considering the work duration in the regression model is expected to make the daily output estimation much more accurate.

  • The fourth industrial revolution based on information and communication technology (ICT) becomes the center of society, and the overall industrial structure is also changing significantly. ICT refers to the hardware of information devices and the software technologies required for the operation and information management of these devices, and any means of collecting, producing, processing, preserving, communicating and utilizing them. ICT is integrated into industries and services or combined with new technologies in various fields such as robotics and nanotechnology to connect all products and services to the network. The development of ICT, which continuously creates new products and services, has spread to all sectors of the industry, affecting not only daily life but also the livestock sector recently. In agriculture, ICT technology can reduce production costs by efficiently managing labor and energy because it can improve quality and yield based on data on environmental and growth information such as temperature, humidity, light and soil. In particular, smart livestock is considered suitable for achieving livestock management goals because it can reduce labor force and improve productivity by remotely and automatically managing accurate information necessary for raising and breeding livestock with ICT devices. The purpose of this study is to propose the need for ICT technology by comparing farm productivity before and after ICT is introduced. The method of the study is to compare the productivity before and after the introduction of ICT in Korean beef farms, pig farms, and poultry farms. The effectiveness of the study proved the excellence of ICT technology through the production results before ICT introduction and the productivity improvement case of livestock farms that efficiently operated manpower management and reduced labor force after ICT introduction. The conclusion of this paper is to present the need for smart livestock through ICT adoption through case study results.

The Income and Cost Estimate for the Medical Clinic Services Based on Available Secondary Data (이차자료원을 활용한 의원 의료서비스 수입 및 비용 산출)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to estimate incomes and costs of the medical clinics by using secondary data. Methodology: The medical incomes and costs were estimated from 405 clinics operated by sole practitioner providing out-patient services among all clinics subject to the Medical Cost Survey on National Health Insurance Patients in 2017, excluding dental clinics and oriental medical clinics. The incomes and costs of the medical clinics were reflected with incomes and costs of health insurance benefits and were calculated by types of medical services (i.e., basic care, surgery, general treatment, functional test, specimen test and imaging test). The costs were classified as follows: labor costs, equipment costs, material costs and overhead costs. Secondary data was used to estimate the incomes and costs of the medical clinics. For allocation bases for costs for each type of the medical service, the ratio of revenue from health insurance benefits by types of medical services was applied. However, labor costs were calculated with the activity ratio by types of medical services and occupations, using clinical expert panel data. Finding: The percentage of health insurance income for all medical income was 73.1%. The health insurance cost per clinic was 401,864 thousand won. Labor cost accounted for the largest portion of the health insurance income was 191,229 thousand won (47.6%), followed by management cost was 170,018 thousand won (42.3%), materials cost was 35,434 thousand won (8.8%), and equipment costs was 5,183 thousand won (1.3%). Practical Implications: This study suggests a method of estimating incomes and costs of medical clinic services by using secondary data. It could efficiently provide incomes and costs to assess an appropriate level of the health insurance fee to the clinics.

  • GS E&C had developed the construction management system, PMS which is based on EVMS in 1997. Recently, TPMS has developed for effective construction management through applying daily schedule management and JIT on material, labor, equipment focusing field work. TPMS realizes "Shielding" and "Make-Ready Process" which are the main concept of Lean construction. Through this system, it can manage and plan daily field work, support the field work related material, labor, and equipment planning, and minimizes the non-valuable process. This paper introduces the concept of TPMS, and through established system, it can lead the construction culture and raise the competitive power of construction industry

  • Korean logistics industry have been focused on transportation business. However, with the expansion of the electronic commerce and on-line shopping, delivery service is now dramatically growing. Despite the expansion of logistics market, the domestic logistics industry have significant structural problems such as low productivity comparing with the advanced countries, relatively high cost and shortage of human resources and lack of professionalism of people in the industry. Logistics companies reallocate employees, use subcontractors, expand consignment and training the employees to overcome the labor shortages but it has some limits. In recognition of the importance of labor in the logistics industry, financial support and investment have increased. Logistics companies tend to hire consultants, set up logistics department or R&D center in order to establish highly productive logistics process and system so it is viewed that there will be considerable demands of human resources in the logistics industry. This study indicates implications and development direction of human resources in the logistics industry by looking into prospect and characteristic of the industry, employment status, training programs and qualification requirements.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting health promotion behavior according to emotional labor, depression, and self - efficacy of taxi drivers. Study participants were 102 Taxi drivers in urban areas, and the data were collected through self-reported structured questionnaire. According to the results, among the variables related to Health promotion behaviors, Meaningful positive correlations were found among Health promotion behaviors and Emotional Labor, Depression, Self-efficacy, but Emotional Labor and Depression, Self-efficacy and Health promotion behaviors showed positive correlations. Emotional Labor and Self-efficacy, Emotional Labor and Health promotion behaviors, Depression and Self-efficacy, Depression and Health promotion behaviors showed negative correlations. In addition, the factors such as spouse, Emotional Labor, Self-efficacy explained Health promotion behaviors 57%. Based on the findings from the study, in order for taxi drivers to improve health promotion behaviors education program should be made with strategies increasing Self-efficacy and decreasing Emotional labor.

  • The aim of this paper is to project the state of the labor farce and employment in Korea from 2000 to 2005. The labor market in Korea is experiencing significant changes with the rapid development of Information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) and the transition of the Korean economy into a knowledge-based economy. On the labor supply side, it is expected that the growth of the labor force will be sluggish; baby boomers will become the middle-aged, while the proportion of senior citizens, the highly educated and the female labor force will grow fast. These changes will alter the human resources management system in business sectors. Moreover, the permanent employment relationship, the hierarchy system and the seniority-based wage system are all expected to change. On the labor demand side, the employment share in highly skilled. knowledge-intensive industries will grow faster than the rest of the economy in tandem with the quickly growing output share of these industries. Especially, more jobs will be created in the ICT industries. The proportion of labor in highly skilled and professional occupations will also grow faster than in other occupations. At the same time, the employment share of female workers will grow more quickly than that of the male workers. These changes, however, may worsen income inequalities and/or increase the unemployment rate when workers do not have the suitable skills or knowledge required by the knowledge-based economy. To avoid this, it is necessary for the government to build up a lifetime learning system for workers.
