  • Recently, interest in energy tranisition is rising. Energy transition requires active participation and cooperation of diverse stakeholders, including users / citizens, in that it requires not only changes in technological factors but also changes and coordination of various social factors. Living labs are attracting attention as one of the ways to do this. This article is a detailed analysis of the activities of the mini-PV living lab in the urban area from 2016 to 2017 at the Seoul, Sung Dae Goal. Through the Living Lab, mini PV DIY products, backup centers, local financial services, and the development of a variety of education and training strategies have been achieved. These activities and achievements were analyzed through questions raised on strategic, tactical, and operational levels, as well as through multi-level perspective and interaction between initiative, regime, and niche. In conclusion, this living lab activity confirmed the possibility of a 'transition lap' to solve social problems such as sustainability of energy production and utilization. In particular, it gained remarkable results in terms of the operational leves of transition management governance, that is, transition experiment, and it was also remarkable in that it was the initiative of citizens. However, it did not proceed without difficulty. In particular, structural problems such as the conflict between the flexibility inherent in living lab and the bureaucratic rigidity of the financial support organization have appeared. There was also a limitation that there was no 'transition field' on the strategic level necessary to replicate and expand strategic niches while spreading the knowledge gained from the transition experiment, forming the vision of transition.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of feed particle size and feed form on growth performance, nutrient metabolizability and intestinal morphology in broiler chickens. This experiment was a 2${\times}$2 factorial arrangement including two feed particle sizes (fine and coarse) and two feed forms (mash and pellet). A total of two hundred and eighty eight day-old male Arbor Acre broilers were used in this six week experiment. Birds were randomly allotted to four dietary treatments with six replicates per treatment and twelve birds per replicate. The results showed that pelleting diets resulted in greater ADG (p<0.01), greater ADFI (p<0.01) and lower feed to gain ratio (F/G) (p<0.05) during starter, grower and overall period. Also, pelleting improved both apparent metabolizable energy (AME) (p<0.01) and the apparent metabolizability of crude protein (p<0.05) and organic matter (p<0.05) regardless of the phase. Reduction of feed particle size enhanced AME (p<0.05) during d 19 to 21. Increased villus height (p<0.05) and crypt depth ratio (p< 0.05) within duodenum, jejunum, and ileum were observed in birds fed the pellet diet compared with those given the mash diet. In conclusion, results indicated that feed pellets might enhance performance by improving nutrient metabolizability and digestive tract development.

  • A vision-based tool position estimation system for the inspection and maintenance manipulator working inside the steam generator bowl of nuclear power plants can help human operators ensure that the inspection probe or plug are inserted to the targeted tube. Some previous research proposed a simplified tube position verification system that counts the tubes passed through during the motion and displays only the position of the tool. In this paper, by using a general camera calibration approach, tool orientation is also estimated. In order to reduce the computation time and avoid the parameter bias problem in an ellipse fitting, a small number of edge points are collected around the large section of the ellipse boundary. Experiment results show that the camera calibration parameters, detected ellipses, and estimated tool position are appropriate.

  • In this study, an image processing algorithm with Lab VIEW IMAQ Module is presented and discussed for the development of a microscopic gap measuring system using CCD sensor. LabVIEW IMAQ development application that is developed by National Instrument Co. Inc. has a graphical interface and many image processing functions, so that it provides an easier environment for the development of a measurement algorithm using the image data. Actual microscopic gap measuring experiment was executed using the algorithm developed in this study and it showed a promising result. Also, we could obtain the convenience of Lab VIEW IMAQ in developing the algorithm.

  • An axial flux magnet for a magnetic levitation system is designed and analysed by finite element simulations. The results are compared with those of experiment in order to verify the analysing method. Lift force, air gap flux density and temperature characteristics of the magnet showed fairly good agreement with each other.

  • We have investigated the electro-optical characteristics of image sticking in AC PDP. Although Image sticking is one of major factors to determine display quality in AC PDP, so far, it has not being reported why it is occurred and how we can prevent it. In this experiment, we have analyzed the effect of MgO protective layer and phosphor on the image sticking and we have measured the difference of firing voltage, brightness and discharge current between sticking image and normal image in AC PDP. As a result, Phosphor degradation is a more major factor than MgO protective layer and the firing voltage of gas discharge in sticking image is higher than that of normal discharge.

  • We have experimentally investigated the influence of wall charge configurations prior to addressing discharge on dynamic margin in AC plasma display panel. In this experiment, we have analyzed the quantity and polarity of wall charge accumulated on the front and rear dielectrics just prior to the addressing discharge under the conventional driving sequence.

  • In AC PDP, since charges generated by gas discharge are accumulated on the dielectric. The dielectric is a major factor to determine cell capacitance and its memory effect is a play an important role in PDP driving. In this experiment, we have investigated the electro-optical characteristics with dielectric thickness and we have analyzed wall charge and wall voltage by Q-V energy diagram. The dielectric thickness was varied from 20 um to 50 um. As results, according to the dielectric thickness increase, cell capacitance and power consumption is reduced.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the detected EMF signals used to detect the rotor position in the IPM(Interior Permanent Magnet) BLDC motor and SPM (Surface Permanent Magnet) BLDC motor. The position sensing signal, in the IPM BLDC motors, advances the real rotor position due to the variation of the rotor inductances. This fact was verified by the simulation and experiment.

  • Electron beam trajectory simulation results on the high voltage FED with cone-type field emitters predict that the cross-talk phenomena would be seen due to the divergence of the electron beam. In this study, computer simulations with design of experiment technique and the SNU-FEAT program were carried out for five input parameters of the aperture focusing structure. The results tell that the focusing voltage is a dominant factor. And, the beam divergence index could be reduced to 10.7$\mu\textrm{m}$ with the aperture focusing structure, however, the operating voltage of the field emitter is predicted to increase by 40% maximum.
