  • Objective: To investigate the effect of coenzyme complex on decreasing cardiotoxicity in elderly patients with gastrointestinal cancer who were treated by chemotherapy. Methods: From September 2011 to February 2015, we recruited 54 elderly (with more than 70 years of age) patients with gastrointestinal cancer, with advanced disease. Then treated with chemotherapy combined with or without coenzyme complex. After two cycles of treatment, the effect of coenzyme complex on decreasing cardiotoxicity were evaluated. Results: Chemotherapy was combined with coenzyme complex in 32 patients (22man, 10 woman; median age: 74 years, range: 70-87 years) without coenzyme complex in 22 patients (15man, 7 woman; median age: 73 years, range: 70-80 years) with gastrointestinal cancer. Cardiac event was significantly lower in patients treated with chemotherapy combined with coenzyme complex (p<0.01). Conclusions: Coenzyme Complex decreased cardiotoxicity when combined with chemotherapy in treating elderly patients with gastrointestinal cancer.

  • Specimens of stainless steel reactor internals were irradiated with 240 keV protons and 6 MeV Xe ions at room temperature. Nanoindentation constant stiffness measurement tests were carried out to study the hardness variations. An irradiation hardening effect was observed in proton- and Xe-irradiated specimens and more irradiation damage causes a larger hardness increment. The Nix-Gao model was used to extract the bulk-equivalent hardness of irradiation-damaged region and critical indentation depth. A different hardening level under H and Xe irradiation was obtained and the discrepancies of displacement damage rate and ion species may be the probable reasons. It was observed that the hardness of Xe-irradiated specimens saturate at about 2 displacement/atom (dpa), whereas in the case of proton irradiation, the saturation hardness may be more than 7 dpa. This discrepancy may be due to the different damage distributions.

  • Certificate-based cryptography is a new cryptographic paradigm that provides an interesting balance between identity-based cryptography and traditional public key cryptography. It not only simplifies the complicated certificate management problem in traditional public key cryptography, but also eliminates the key escrow problem in identity-based cryptography. As an extension of the signcryption in certificate-based cryptography, certificate-based signcryption provides the functionalities of certificate-based encryption and certificate-based signature simultaneously. However, to the best of our knowledge, all constructions of certificate-based signcryption in the literature so far have to be based on the costly bilinear pairings. In this paper, we propose a certificate-based signcryption scheme that does not depend on the bilinear pairings. The proposed scheme is provably secure in the random oracle model. Due to avoiding the computationally-heavy paring operations, the proposed scheme significantly reduces the cost of computation and outperforms the previous certificate-based signcryption schemes.

  • To determine the infectivlty and maturity of nletacercanae of Parqgonimur westermani after keeping at low temperature for a long period, 45 mice and 45 rats were each infected with 20 metacercariae which were kept at $4^{\circ}C$ for 8 to 234 days. The worm recovery in mice increased with age of worm and reached a peak of 32% at 41-50 days and then decreased with age. The rate In rats first decreased to a lowest point of 6% at 71-100 days and then Increased with age. In 42 infected mice and 41 infected rats, 187 immature worms (183 tiny and 4 Juvenile ones) and 190 worms (164 tiny, 19 Juvenile and 7 mature ones) were recovered respectively. Two wormcysts with eggs only and 8 empty wormcysts were also found In the rats. In addition, the frozen metacercanae can still develop to mature worms in SD rats.

  • With the rapid development of urban traffic system and fast increasing of vehicle numbers, the traditional centralized ways to generate the source-destination shortest path in terms of travel time(the optimal path) encounter several problems, such as high server pressure, low query efficiency, roads state without in-time updating. With the widespread use of smart cameras in the urban traffic and surveillance system, this paper maps the optimal path finding problem in the dynamic road network to the shortest routing problem in the smart camera networks. The proposed distributed optimal path generation algorithm employs the delay routing and caching mechanism. Real-time route update is also presented to adapt to the dynamic road network. The test result shows that this algorithm has advantages in both query time and query packet numbers.

  • Hybrids of some natural compounds are promising to obtain new leads with good biological activities for drug discovery. Three quercetin aspirinates were synthesized by esterification of the 3-and 7-hydroxyl groups of quercetin with aspirin. Biological activities of these quercetin aspirinates were initially screened and showed better cytotoxic activities against tumor cell lines HL-60 and HepG2 and less scavenging activity against DPPH than the quercetin respectively.

  • The diesel Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for vehicle applications is a complex nonlinear system. For the purpose of this paper presents a dynamic average model of the whole system in an entirely physical way, which accounts for the non-ideal behavior of the diode rectifier, the nonlinear phenomena of generator-rectifier set in an elegant way, and also the dynamics of the dc load and diesel engine. Simulation results show the accuracy of the model. Based on the average model, a simple PI control scheme is proposed for the multivariable system, which includes the steps of model linearization, separate PI controller design with robust tuning rules, stability verification of the overall system by considering it as an uncertain one. Finally it is tested on a detailed switching model and good performances are shown for both set-point following and disturbance rejection.

  • HEVC is the high efficiency video coding standard, which provides better coding efficiency contrasted with the other video coding standard. But at the same time the computational complexity increases drastically. Thirty-five kinds of intra-prediction modes are defined in HEVC, while 9 kinds of intra prediction modes are defined in H.264/AVC. This paper proposes a fast rough mode decision (RMD) algorithm which adopts the smoothness of the up-reference pixels and the left-reference pixels to decrease the computational complexity. The three step search method is implemented in RMD process. The experimental results compared with HM13.0 indicate that the proposed algorithm can save 39.7% of the encoding time, while Bjontegaard delta bitrate (BDBR) is increased slightly by 1.35% and Bjontegaard delta peak signal-to-noise ratio (BDPSNR) loss is negligible.

  • A series of Novel Mannich bases has been synthesized and evaluated $in$ $vitro$ cytotoxic activity against the human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2), human lung carcinoma (SK-LU-1), and human breast cancer (MCF-7). Compound $\mathbf{9f}$ was found to be most potent against three cell lines with $IC_{50}$ values of 1.57, 1.16 and 1.21 ${\mu}g$/mL, respectively. In addition, compounds $\mathbf{9g}$, $\mathbf{10f}$ exhibited very significant activity against MCF-7 cell line with $IC_{50}$ values of 2.0 ${\mu}g$/mL.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristic of ryodoraku in the chronic low back pain patients who visited department of oriental rehabilitation medicine. Methods : Subjects were 32 patients who visited department of oriental rehabilitation medicine(<60 years old). The low back pain patients were measured points of twelve meridians by ryodoraku diagnosis and checked the duration of low back pain. We compared the mean ryodoraku and the percentage of each points beyond the physiological range. Results : The score of H1(LU9), H2(PC7), H3(HT7), H5(TE4) and F5(GB40) had statistical differences compared with mean ryodoraku. And the correlation between duration of pain and mean ryodoraku showed statistically significant negative correlation(r=-0.353). Conclusions : These results suggest that ryodoraku maybe used to evaluate chronic low back pain patients.
