As wireless communication continues to develop in limited frequency resource environments, it is becoming important to identify the state of spectrum utilization and predict the amount needed in future. It is essential to collect reliable information for data analysis. This paper introduces a platform that enables the gathering of the scheduling information of a long-term evolution (LTE) cellular system without connecting to the network. A typical LTE terminal can confirm its assigned resource information using the configuration parameters delivered from a network. However, our platform receives and captures only the LTE signal over the air and then enables the estimation of the data relevant to scheduling for all terminals within an LTE cell. After extracting the control channel signal without loss from all LTE subframes, it detects valid downlink control information using the proposed algorithm, which is based on the error vector magnitude of depatterned symbols. We verify the reliability of the developed platform by comparing it with real data from mobile phones and service operators. The average difference in resource block utilization is only 0.28%.

최근 LTE(Long-Term Evolution) 이동통신시스템이 보급되어 본격적인 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 특히 LTE 시스템은 3G 시스템 등 과거 이동통신시스템 대비 월등한 전송 속도를 보장함으로써 높은 전송 속도를 요구하는 서비스도 이동단말을 통해서 제공될 수 있도록 하고 있다. 향후 IPTV와 같은 멀티미디어 서비스가 LTE 시스템을 통해서 제공되기 위해서는 실제 사용 환경에서 LTE 시스템이 보여주는 전송 속도의 변화에 대한 기본적인 이해가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 CQI와 BLER과 같은 무선 품질 지표가 LTE 시스템의 전송 속도에 영향을 미치는 체제에 대해서 살펴보고 실측 결과를 통해서 이를 검증한다.

국가재난안전통신망 구축사업 기술방식으로 공공안전 롱텀에볼루션(PS-LTE) 방식이 선정됐다. 이를 통해 2017년부터 경찰, 소방, 군 등 모든 재난안전 책임기관이 음성뿐 아니라 동영상 등 멀티미디어 정보를 활용해 구조활동을 벌일 수 있게 됐다. PS-LTE는 기존 LTE 기술에 그룹통화, 단말기 간 직접통신, 단독 기지국 기능 등이 추가된 방식이다. 지금까지 각 재난안전기관이 사용하던 통신기술은 음성만 전달할 수 있었다. PS-LTE 기술을 이용하면 멀티미디어 전송이 가능해진다. 본 논문에서는 해외 주요국에서 추진 중에 있는 광대역 공공안전통신정책 기술동향을 분석하고, 이를 통해 국내 광대역 공공안전통신 도입 시 고려해야 할 사항을 알아보았다.

최근 들어, 스마트 기기의 수요가 급증하면서 기존의 3G 표준에 비해 향상된 품질을 제공하는 long-term evolution (LTE) 서비스가 전 세계적으로 활발히 보급되고 있다. 2010년에 발표된 릴리즈 10은 흔히 LTE-Advanced (LTE-A)로 불리는데, LTE-A의 여러 특징 중 다중사용자 MIMO (MU-MIMO) 기술은 정보 처리량을 향상시키기 위한 LTE-A의 핵심기술로 근래 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 LTE 및 LTE-A 시스템에서 도입된 MU-MIMO 기술의 이론적 배경 및 표준의 주요 특징을 소개한다.

With the continued evolution of third-generation cellular systems and the introduction of 3GP P LTE, there is considerable progress for the new mobile wireless markets. Recently, 3GPP LTE standards are accelerated by mobile operators supporting LTE deployment and special working groups such as LSTI are working for LTE IOT and trials. In this paper, we introduce the current status of LTE activities in the mobile communications industry.

최근 이동통신기술의 급속한 발달과 보급으로 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 기술은 스마트폰 서비스를 넘어 산업통신이나 긴급통신을 비롯하여 다양한 분야로 확대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 LTE 기술의 응용 분야로서 LTE-R을 기반으로 하는 철도통신의 서비스 분야 가운데 하나인 음성서비스의 전송성능을 분석하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 LTE-R 네트워크의 응용서비스 관점에서 성능을 분석하여 응용서비스가 사용자 만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴본다. 분석방법으로는 NS(Network Simulator)-3에 기반한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 사용하며 분석대상 트래픽으로는 VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) 규격 음성트래픽을 사용한다. 본 연구의 결과는 LTE-R 네트워크 구축뿐 아니라 LTE-R 네트워크를 대상으로 하는 응용서비스 개발에 활용이 가능하다. 다음은 요약문 입니다.

LTE (Long Term Evolution) 및 5G와 같이 지속적으로 발전하는 이동 통신 표준을 구현하기 위해 소프트웨어 정의 라디오 (SDR, Software Defined Radio) 개념은 뛰어난 유연성과 효율성을 제공한다. 수년 동안, 최고급 디지털 시그널 프로세서 (DSP, Digital Signal Processor) 시스템 온 칩 (SoC, System on Chip)은 멀티 코어 및 다양한 하드웨어 보조 프로세서를 지원하는 방향으로 개발되어왔다. 이 논문에서는 TI의 TCI663x 칩을 사용해 구현한 SDR 플랫폼 하드웨어에 대해 소개하고, 이 플랫폼 상에서 멀티 코어 DSP를 BCP (Bit Rate Coprocessor) 및 TPC (Turbo Decoder Coprocessor)와 연동하여 구현한 LTE 전송 채널 (Transport Channel)의 성능을 다양한 구현 옵션에 따라 평가한다.

The specification of the Home Evolved NodeB (Home-eNB), which is a small base station designed for use in residential or small business environment, is currently ongoing in 3GPP LTE (Long Term Evolution) systems. One of the key requirements for its feasibility in the LTE system is the mobility management in the deployment of the numerous Home-eNBs and other 3GPP network. In this paper, we overview the characteristic of Home-eNB and also describe the mobility management issues and the related approaches in 3GPP LTE based Home-eNB systems.

This paper provides an overview of the security in the System Architecture Evolution (SAE) / Long-Term Evolution (LTE) system. Security is an integral part of SAE/LTE with improvements over the Third Generation (3G) system. This paper reviews the SAE/LTE system architecture, and discusses the security requirements, algorithms, Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA), Security Mode Command (SMC), key hierarchy and security for mobility.

최근 국내외 주요 이동통신 사업자들이 본격적으로 4G 무선표준 방식인 LTE (Long Term Evolution) 서비스를 시작 하면서 LTE 방식을 지원하는 이동단말의 MIMO (Multi Input-Multi Output) OTA (Over The Air) 성능 평가 방법의 필요성이 중요해 지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project)에서 논의되고 있는 MIMO OTA 시스템에서의 LTE 이동 단말기의 핸드 효과에 의한 안테나의 특성변화를 이론 및 실험적으로 검증하였다. 핸드 효과에 의한 LTE 이동 단말기의 성능은 MIMO OTA 시스템에서의 LTE PDSCH throughput 비교를 통해 link level에서 확인하였다.
