회생에너지저장시스템의 경량전철 시험선 적용 (Application of Regenerative Energy Storage System to K-AGT Test Track)

  • LRT System Application Project is performed for the purpose of technical advancement and stabilization of K-AGT system from the viewpoint of practical use and commercialization. For those purpose, the performance test and evaluation procedure for K-AGT signaling system are developed, and the scheme of verifying the performance and function of signaling system under multi-train and driverless control environment is being conducted. For the multi-train operation in K-AGT test track, we applied the regenerative energy storage system in addition to the existing electric facilities. This paper present the design, manufacturing, and testing results of regenerative energy storage system.

  • This paper presents the design of DC protection system of Light Rail Transit system. Especially, the composition and interface for DC Switchgear. Digital protection unit and sort of protection algorithm are focused. DC Switchgear (DCSWGR) for LRT testline consist of 5 different panels with peculiar characteristics are examined. Also Basic actuation principle for DC fault select relay (50F), Line Test Device (LTD), DC Overcurrent(OCR) relay are introduced.

Control charts for monitoring correlation coefficients in variance-covariance matrix

  • Properties of multivariate Shewhart and CUSUM charts for monitoring variance-covariance matrix, specially focused on correlation coefficient components, are investigated. The performances of the proposed charts based on control statistic Lawley-Hotelling $V_i$ and likelihood ratio test (LRT) statistic $TV_i$ are evaluated in terms of average run length (ARL). For monitoring correlation coe cient components of dispersion matrix, we found that CUSUM chart based on $TV_i$ gives relatively better performances and is more preferable, and the charts based on $V_i$ perform badly and are not recommended.

  • This paper described the development of technology for LRT (Light Rail Transit) power system, which are sponsored by MOCT and supervised by KRRI. Especially, manufacture, interface between components and composition for DC Switchgear are focused. Most main components for DC switchgear(Protective Relay, HSCB, DS) are made by own. Also the type test report of international testing laboratory about the DC Switchgear based on IEC regulations is introduced. Finally the product will be proved based on field test.

  • THE RAILWAY VEHICLE IS CONSISTS OF CARBODY, BOGIE AND WHEELSETS, EACH OF COMPONENTS IS CONNECTED WITH RIGID MASS, SPRING AND DAMPER. EACH OF COMPONENTS HAS TRANSLATION MOTIONS OF LONGITUDINAL (X AXIS), LATERAL (Y AXIS) AND VERTICAL (Z AXIS) DIRECTIONS, ROTATION MOTIONS OF X, Y, Z AXIS WHICH ARE NAMED ROLLING, PITCHING AND YAWING. THE VIBRATION MODE OF RAILWAY VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO FIND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTION DURING THE OPERATION ON THE TRACK BECAUSE THESE HAPPEN TO INDEPENDENCE OR DUPLICATION MOTION CAUSED BY VEHICLE, WHEEL/RAIL AND TRACK IRREGULARITY ETC. IT IS NAMED AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION THAT THE VIBRATION, WHICH WAS PASSED THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SUSPENSION, IS AFFECTED TO THE PASSENGER WITHOUT DAMPING. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES AN EXPERIENCE EVALUATION TO FIND THE CAUSE OF AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION WHICH WAS HAPPEN AT OPERATING SPEED 60KPH ZONE DURING THE MAINLINE TEST.

Cumulative Sum Control Charts for Simultaneously Monitoring Means and Variances of Multiple Quality Variables

  • Multivariate cumulative sum (CUSUM) control charts for simultaneously monitoring both means and variances under multivariate normal process are investigated. Performances of multivariate CUSUM schemes are evaluated for matched fixed sampling interval (FSI) and variable sampling interval (VSI) features in terms of average time to signal (ATS), average number of samples to signal (ANSS). Multivariate Shewhart charts are also considered to compare the properties of multivariate CUSUM charts. Numerical results show that presented CUSUM charts are more efficient than the corresponding Shewhart chart for small or moderate shifts and VSI feature with two sampling intervals is more efficient than FSI feature. When small changes in the production process have occurred, CUSUM chart with small reference values will be recommended in terms of the time to signal.

  • Many utterance verification (UV) algorithms have been studied to reject out-of-vocabulary (OOV) in speech recognition systems. Most of conventional confidence measures for UV algorithms are mainly based on log likelihood ratio test, but these measures take much time to evaluate the alternative hypothesis or anti-model likelihood. We propose a novel confidence measure which makes use of a momentary best scored state sequence during Viterbi search. Our approach is more efficient than conventional LRT-based algorithms because it does not need to build anti-model or to calculate the alternative hypothesis. The proposed confidence measure shows better performance in additive noise-corrupted speech as well as clean speech.

  • This paper presents the model for an AC electric railway system using the PSCAD/EMTDC program. It is composed of a scott-transformer, an auto-transformer, catenary and electric trains, etc. After obtaining the models of the fundamental elements describing the AC electric railway system and its behavior, we have analyzed and tested an actual AC electric railway system focused on the amplification of harmonic current to verify the proposed model. The simulation results from the proposed approach and the measurement data from the test are described.

  • This paper proposes an improved method to verify a keyword segment that results from a word spotting system. First a baseline word spotting system is implemented. In order to improve performance of the word spotting systems, we use a two-pass structure which consists of a word spotting system and an utterance verification system. Using the basic likelihood ratio test (LRT) based utterance verification system to verify the keywords, there have been certain problems which lead to performance degradation. So, we propose a method which uses phone-level log-likelihood ratios (PLLR) patterns in computing confidence measures for each keyword. The proposed method generates weights according to the PLLR patterns and assigns different weights to each phone in the process of generating confidence measures for the keywords. This proposed method has shown to be more appropriate to word spotting systems and we can achieve improvement in final word spotting accuracy.

  • The status of the maglev development in Korea is reported along with related commercial application prospects. The 1st test vehicle, Urban Transit Maglev-01, is in the running tests, and is now entered a new phase in which a new vehicle be built within 3 years. Eventhough Korean maglev teams made remarkable progress for 10 years since 1990, major portion of the works to prove safety and reliability remains for the future. Many LRT routes are being planned by the Korean government and UTM will find its commercial application if we can prove many merits of the maglev system plus its reliability. But the commercial application efforts did not produce any outcome at the time because the customer wasn't totally satisfied with the new system and also, they decided it wasn't urgently needed.
