Performance Analysis of Improved Adaptive Predictive Filter to Generate Reference Signal in Active Power Filter (능동전력필터의 기준신호발생을 위한 개선된 적응예측필터의 성능 분석)

  • The performance of active power filter depends on the inverter characteristic, the control method, and the accuracy of reference signal generator. The accuracy of reference signal generator is the most critical item to determine the performance of active power filter. This paper introduces a novel reference signal generator composed of improved adaptive predictive filter. The performance of proposed reference signal generator was verified by means of simulation with MATLAB. The application feasibility was evaluated by building and experimenting a single-phase active power filter based on the proposed reference generator, which was implemented in the DSP(digital signal processor) TMS320C31. Both simulation and experimental results confirm that the proposed reference signal generator can be utilized for the active power filter.

A Study on Adaptive MMSE RAKE Detector for Forward-link CDMA Communication Systems (순방향 링크의 CDMA통신 시스템에 적용 가능한 적응 MMSE 레이크 수신기)

  • An adaptive MMSE detector can be used to cancel the MAI in CDMA system. But standard adaptive MMSE detector cannot be used in real mobile environment due to fast fading channel. Furthermore multipath reception make it more difficult to converge to optimum weight values. In this paper we discuss and model the multipath fading environment in Forward-link Synchronous CDMA channels and propose adaptive MMSE RAKE detector structure which can be applied in the mobile station. A proposed adaptive MMSE detector requires estimation of received signal delay and complex channel coefficients such as amplitude and phase variation. These burden can be solved by utilizing the common pilot channel. The pilot channel may have higher power than the traffic channel, which give more exact channel estimation. Moreover RAKE structure gives more accurate and stable result which can be used as reliable reference signal in multipath fading channel environment. With this structure, conventional adaptive algorithm such as LMS or NLMS can be applied in adaptive MMSE detector.

  • In this paper, a hardware implementation of gas flow meter for accuracy improvement and saving repair costs at a field is investigated. An adaptive filter using LMS algorithms for estimating cavity vibration frequencies in noisy environments is also studied. The proposed cavity gas flow meter measures cavity sound signals in gas flow tube using microphone and signal processing systems estimate the cavity vibration frequency from the measured signal. The flow velocity and flow quantity can be calculated using the estimated cavity vibration frequency. Since cavity vibration frequency is corrupted by the environmental noise, an adaptive filter using NLMS algorithms is used for cancelling the environmental noise. Experiments using 1MS32OC32 digital signal processor are performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • In this study, we carried out a study for implementation of the pre-amplifier and the digital signal processing part for the potable EEG biofeedback system. As we consider characteristics of the EEG signal, we designed the pre-amplifier to obtain the EEG signal to be reduced noise signal. Because the EEG signal include EOG, EMG, ECG signals etc, it is difficult to analyze of the EEG signal. Therefore, we developed DSP board and operation program which was embed the LMS adaptive filter algorithm and operate with the pre-amplifier in the real time. The simulation signal and pure EEG signal is used in the experiment. As the result, we confirmed good efficiency of developed system and possibility of application to the portable EEG biofeedback system.

  • It is known that the problem of FIR filtering with noisy input and output data can be solved by a total least squares (TLS) estimation. It is also known that the performance of the TLS estimation is very sensitive to the ratio between the variances of the input and output noises. In this paper, we propose a convex combination algorithm between the ordinary recursive LS based TLS (RTLS) and the ordinary recursive LS (RLS). This combined algorithm is robust to the noise variance ratio and has almost the same complexity as the RTLS. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs near TLS in noise variance ratio ${\gamma}{\approx}1$ and that it outperforms TLS and LS in the rage of 2 < $\gamma$ < 20. Consequently, the practical workability of the TLS method applied to noisy data has been significantly broadened.

  • In this work we study extensively the structures and performance characteristics of the block least mean-square (BLMS) adaptive digital filters (ADF's) that can be realized efficiently using the fast Fourier transform (FFT). The weights of a BLMS ADF realized using the FFT can be adjusted either in the time domain or in the frequency domain, leading to the time-domain BLMS(TBLMS) algorithm or the frequency-domain BLMS (FBLMS) algorithm, respectively. In Part Ⅰof the paper, we first present new results on the overlap-add realization and the number-theoretic transform realization of the FBLMS ADF's. Then, we study how we can incorporate the concept of different frequency-weighting on the error signals and the self-orthogonalization of weight adjustment in the FBLMS ADF's , and also in the TBLMS ADF's. As a result, we show that the TBLMS ADF can also be made to have the same fast convergence speed as that of the self-orthogonalizing FBLMS ADF. Next, based on the properties of the sectioning operations in weight adjustment, we discuss unconstrained FBLMS algorithms that can reduce two FFT operations both for the overlap-save and overlap-add realizations. Finally, we investigate by computer simulation the effects of different parameter values and different algorithms on the convergence behaviors of the FBLMS and TBLMS ADF's. In Part Ⅱ of the paper, we will analyze the convergence characteristics of the TBLMS and FBLMS ADF's.

  • Airbone laser altimeters have been utilized for 3D topographic mapping of the earth, moon, and planets with high resolution and accuracy, which is a rapidly growing remote sensing technique that measures the round-trip time emitted laser pulse to determine the topography. The traveling time from the laser scanner to the Earth's surface and back is directly related to the distance of the sensor to the ground. When there are several objects within the travel path of the laser pulse, the reflected laser pluses are distorted by surface variation within the footprint, generating multiple echoes because each target transforms the emitted pulse. The shapes of the received waveforms also contain important information about surface roughness, slope and reflectivity. Waveform processing algorithms parameterize and model the return signal resulting from the interaction of the transmitted laser pulse with the surface. Each of the multiple targets within the footprint can be identified. Assuming each response is gaussian, returns are modeled as a mixture gaussian distribution. Then, the parameters of the model are estimated by LMS Method or EM algorithm However, each response actually shows the skewness in the right side with the slowly decaying tail. For the application to require more accurate analysis, the tail information is to be quantified by an approach to decompose the tail. One method to handle with this problem is proposed in this study.

  • 오늘날 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 관련 기술 연구는 사용자가 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 네트워크에 접근해 다양한 컴퓨터 관련 서비스를 제공 받을 수 있는 방법에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이 처럼 시간과 공간의 한계를 뛰어 넘은 네트워크로의 자유로운 접근은 일상 생활의 패러다임을 바꾸어 놓게 될 것이다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술을 통해 가장 큰 변화가 일어나는 분야는 일반 가정환경에서 일어나는 인텔리전트 홈 네트워크 (Intelligent Home Network) 라고 할 수 있다. 집에 들어오면, 자동으로 문을 열어주고, 불을 켜주며, 놓쳤던 TV 프로그램을 자동으로 녹화해 놓았다가 원하는 시간에 보여주고, 적당한 시간에 목욕물을 미리 받아준다. 또한 집밖으로 나가기 전, 일기예보에 따라 우산을 챙겨주고, 일정을 확인시켜주며 입고 나갈 옷을 골라줄 수도 있다. 이 모든 일들이 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술이 가져올 인텔리전트 홈 네트워크의 모습이다. 그러나, 모든 사용자에게 효과적인 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 홈 네트워크 상의 자원 관리에서 일어날 수 있는 에이전트들간의 자원 접근 권한 충돌을 효율적으로 방지할 수 있는 기술이 필요하다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 자원관리 특성은 점유의 연속성, 자원 사이의 연관성, 그리고 자원과 사용자 사 사이의 연계성의 3 가지 특성을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 일어날 수 있는 자원 충돌 상황을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 자원 협상 방법을 제안한다. 본 방법은 자원 관리 특성을 바탕으로 시간논리에 기반을 둔 자원 선점과 분배 규칙으로 구성된다.트 시스템은 b-Cart를 기반으로 할 것으로 예측할 수 있다.타났다. 또한, 스네이크의 초기 제어점을 얼굴은 44개, 눈은 16개, 입은 24개로 지정하여 MER추출에 성공한 영상에 대해 스네이크 알고리즘을 수행한 결과, 추출된 영역의 오차율은 각각 2.2%, 2.6%, 2.5%로 나타났다.해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • Location-based services with GPS positioning technology as a key technology, but recognizing the current location through satellite communication is not possible in an indoor location-aware technology, low-power short-range communication is primarily made of the study. Especially, as Chirp Spread Spectrum(CSS) based location-aware approach for low-power physical layer IEEE802.15.4a is selected as a standard, Ranging distance estimation techniques and data transfer speed enhancements have been more developed. It is known that the distance measured by CSS ranging has quite a lot of noise as well as its bias. However, the noise problem can be adjusted by modeling the non-zero mean noise value by a scaling factor which corresponds to the change of magnitude of a measured distance vector. In this paper, we propose a localization system using the CSS signal to measure distance for a mobile node taken a measurement of the exact coordinates. By applying the extended kalman filter and least mean squares method, the localization system is faster, more stable. Finally, we evaluate the reliability and accuracy of the proposed algorithm's performance by the experiment for the realization of localization system.
