A Study on the LED Traffic Signal Standards (에너지 절약형 LED 교통신호등 규격화 연구)

  • 현재 국내에서 사용되고 있는 신호등용 전구는 전량 해외에서 수입되는 백열전구로써, 낮은 발광효율($8.0{\sim}8.4lm/W$)과 짧은 수명(약 4,000 hours)으로, 지방 자치단체의 경우 전기에너지의 과소비와 과중한 전력요금 부담 잦은 유지보수로 관리비용이 증가하고 교통환경을 악화시키는 원인이 되고 있으며, 국가적으로는 첨두부하 증가, 귀중한 에너지 낭비 및 석유, 가스 등 발전용 화석연료 사용증가에 따른 환경오염을 유발하고 있다. LED(Light Emitting Diode. 발광다이오드)는 발광 특성상 열 발생이 적고, 특정 파장대의 단색광을 발광하는 광원으로써 전력소비가 매우 작고, 긴 수명, 양호한 환경 특성을 가지고 있다. 옥외에 노출되고, 점등이 길고 소등 횟수가 많으며 단색광을 필요로 하는 신호등에 적합한 것으로 평가되고 있다. 그러나 LED 신호등은 발광 원리 및 발광 방식이 기존의 전구식과 달라 현재 규정된 시험방법으로 직접 평가가 불가능하다. 따라서 우리나라의 경우 LED 제조기술은 세계적인 수준이나 LED 신호등에 대한 기술개발 및 보급은 현실적으로 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 국내 보급환경 구축을 위해 LED 신호등에 대한 시제품의 특성을 장시간의 옥외 시험을 통해 우리나라 환경 특성에 적합한 LED 교통 신호등 규격을 연구하고자 한다.

A Comparison Characteristics on the Structures of the LED Traffic Signal Lamp Controller for the Domestic Use (국내 LED 교통 신호등용 안정기 구조별 특성 비교)

  • Instead of the incandescent lamps the LED lamps have been used on the traffic signal lamp with the advantages of small loss, no lens and long life. In this paper, we have compared three kinds of the LED controller structures and showed the LED array decision methods. We studied the temperature characteristics on LED and the temperature compensation network. The experimental results showed that the electrical characteristics of three kinds of the LED controller structures were different each other. We concluded that the temperature compensation is the important technique, the best compensation network has the ${\pm}10%$ variation for the luminous intensity.

  • LED교통신호등은 기존 전구식 신호등과 달리 필라맨트 발열부가 없고, 전구식에 사용하는 착색렌즈 사용이 없어 이에 따른 빛 손실이 매우 적으며, 전구식 신호등에 비해 90% 정도의 전력이 절약된다. 또 특정 파장대의 단색광을 발광하며, 소자의 특성상 전원 공급과 동시에 빛을 발광한다. 그러면서 긴 수명으로 인하여 유지보수비용의 절감이 이루어지고, 구조적으로 매우 견고한 특성을 가지고 있다. (중략)

  • Traffic network is composed of passing vehicls, delayed vehicles, traffic situation which is traffic incomes of traffic interfacing system. Traffic green time light is concluded by inside input factor, that is green light cycle, yellow light cycle, led light cycle, which light cycle is sensor inputs. That light cycle is converted to traffic phase composed of passing peoples and delayed vehicles, whose intervals is concluding of traffic network factors composed of consumptiom power factors, delayed time situation, occupying sensor nodes. This is very important sector,because of much poor traffic situation.

Development of LED Traffic Light Lens with snow removing function (제설 기능을 갖는 LED 신호등 렌즈 개발)

  • It is necessary to develop an LED traffic light lens having a snow removal function capable of clearly providing a traffic signal to the driver even when a traffic light is blurred due to heavy snow and wind in the winter season. This study is focused on the research and development of the traffic light lens in the process of developing the LED traffic light with the snow removal function. In the developed traffic light lens, instead of attaching the film heater, the coated nichrome wire was wound into a coil shape and inserted directly into the groove in the lens. The developed heater system facilitates the insertion of the heating wire with high elasticity into a curved lens and can provide a sufficient heat without deformation of the PC lens. The proposed traffic lights were tested in various external environments and the test results showed that complete snow removal is possible without tunnel effect.

  • LED is in the spotlight as next generation's lighting due to the fact that it has good efficiency on converting electricity to light and has long life time. Recently it expands the scope up to taillight of car, signal lamp and indoor light. Additionally it can send data information simultaneously with lighting, which is called lighting-communication convergence. In this paper, the channel characteristics of LED wireless communication is studied in the condition that indoor is latticed with 1mm span and photons started from LED are firstly arrived at each lattice after that these move as straight line before meeting photodiode(PD).

  • In this study, SMPS to drive LED traffic signal light for the railroad and airport was designed and its electrical characteristics was measured. The output voltage, output current and its power efficiencies to the input voltage 8~12VAC and 8~16VDC were 6VDC, 1.85ADC and >70%, respectively. Also the power factors of the SMPS were above 0.75 in the AC input voltage range.

  • In this study, SMPS driven LED traffic signal light for Large-scale traffic such as railroad and airport was designed and its electrical and EMI characteristics were measured. The output current of the LED module driven by SMPS was 1.67A for AC and DC input voltage over 10V. The conducted emission measured over 0.15~30MHz frequency range was lower than the allowed quasi-peak and average level, and the radiated noise measured over 30~1000MHz frequency range showed $23.96dB{\mu}V/m$ at 59.96MHz.

나노 구조를 이용한 LED를 광추출 효율 개선

  • GaN 기반의 InGaN/GaN 다중양자우물(MQW) 구조의 발광다이오드는 다양한 파장대의 가시광을 방출하는 소자로 교통 신호등, 디스플레이, LCD backlight, 일반 조명까지 넓게 응용되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 응용을 위해서는 전류 주입 효율, 내부양자효율, 광추출 효율을 개선하는 연구를 통한 발광 다이오드의 광효율을 높이는 연구가 필수적이다. 최근 많은 연구 개발에 의해 내부양자효율은 크게 향상 되었지만, 광추출 효율은 GaN (n=2.4)와 공기 (n=1)의 굴절률 차이에 의해 아직까지 낮은 실정이다. 광추출 효율을 개선하기 위해 반사전극, 전방향 반사전극, 표면 거칠기, Chip 성형 등의 기술이 제안되고 있다. 본 연구는 LED의 광추출 효율을 높이기 위해 다양한 모양의 Hydrothermal 법에 의해 성장된 ZnO 나노 구조 및 나노스피어 리소그라피를 통한 폴리스티렌 나노 구체의 주기적인 배열에 따른 특성을 연구하였다.

  • The initial light emitting diode (LED) has been used as a display device for various mechanical devices due to its low power. The development of LED technology has made it possible to express color with high power and high brightness. Therefore, it is used as a display such as a traffic signal, a large electric signboard, and an automobile display, and is also adapted as an indoor or outdoor light source such as an incandescent or a fluorescent lamp which requires the high luminance. The bulb of marine lantern, which is used for the aids to navigation, was replaced to LED. The first marine LED lantern was manufactured using multiple LEDs. However, if the optical design is renewed by the development of LED or even if a few LEDs are used, it is possible to satisfy the brightness and the light distribution required by the marine LED lantern.
