국산 원자로용기 재료의 피로 및 파괴특성 연구 (A study on the fatigue and fracture characteristics of localized nuclear reactor vessel material)

  • It is important to ensure the reliability of the first localized reactor vessel steel. To satisfy with this purpose, a study on the impact/hardness, low cycle fatigue(LCF), crack growth rate(da/dN) and fracture toughness( ) of base material(BM) and weld metal(WM) were performed under room temperature air and corrosion conditions. A summary of the results is as folows : (1) Charpy impact absorbed energy of BM was the highest value, heat affected zoon(HAZ) and the lowest, WM. The hardness of BM was similar to HAZ. (2) Coefficients of Manson equation using the monotonic tensile test data were obtained for the present material. (3) The effects of stress ratio and ambient (120.deg. C and NaCl) condition on da/dN were investigated, da/dN with NaCl condition expressed the highest value. (4) The results of Charpy V-notch impact test had good correlation with $K_{IC}$ characteristics and the lowest curve of $K_{IC}$ for BM was derived, more researches about WM and HAZ are required hereafter.

  • The low cycle fatigue (LCF) and creep-fatigue (hold time tension fatigue, HTTF) tests were performed on the modified 25Cr-13Ni cast stainless steel, which was selected as a candidate material for exhaust manifold in automotive engine. The exhaust manifold is subjected to an environment in which heating and cooling cycle occur due to the running pattern of automotive engine. Several types of fatigue behaviour such as thermal fatigue, thermal mechanical fatigue and creep-fatigue are belong to the main failure mechanisms. High temperature tensile test was firstly carried out to compare the sample with the traditional cast steel for the component. The low cycle fatigue and HTTF tests were carried out under the strain controlled condition with the total strain amplitude from ${\pm}0.6%$ to ${\pm}0.7%$ at $800^{\circ}C$. The hysteresis loops of HTTF tests showed significant stress relaxation during tension hold time. With the increase of tension hold time, the fatigue life was remarkably deceased which caused from the formation of intercrystalline crack by the creep failure mechanism.

탄소강 후판용접부의 피로수명 및 잔류응력에 미치는 열처리 영향 (The Effects of Heat Treatment on the Fatigue Life and Welding Residual Stress of Welded Carbon Steel Plates)

  • The effects of heat treatment on the fatigue life and welding residual stress of welded plates were investigated in this study. The plates were welded by flux cored arc welding process, and post weld heat treated at $600^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. The residual stresses of welded plates before and after post weld heat treatment were measured by hole drilling method. To measure the fatigue life of welded plates, low cycle fatigue tests under strain control and high cycle fatigue tests under load control were performed respectively, by using cylindrical specimens containing weld metal and heat affected zone. The obtained result shows that the post weld heat treatment reduces the residual stress, and resultantly changes the fatigue life of welded plate. Goodman diagrammatic analysis has also been performed to study the effect of post weld heat treatment on the high cycle fatigue life.

인공 신경망을 이용한 크리프-피로 상호작용시 수명예측기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Life Prediction Method using Artificial Neural Network under Creep-Fatigue Interaction)

  • The effect of tensile hold time on the creep-fatigue interaction in AISI 316 stainless steel was investigated. To study the fatigue characteristics of the material, strain controlled low cycle fatigue(LCF) tests were carried out under the continuous triangular waveshape with three different total strain ranges of 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0%. To study the creep-fatigue interaction, 5min., 10min., and 30min. of tensile hold times were applied to the continuous triangular waveshape with the same three total strain ranges. The creep-fatigue life was found to be the longest when the 5min. tensile hold time was applied and was the shortest when the 30min. tensile hold time was applied. The cause fur the shortest creep-fatigue life under the 30min. tensile hold time is believed to be the effect of the increased creep damage per cycle as the hold time increases. The creep-fatigue life prediction using artificial neural network(ANN) showed closer prediction values to the experimental values than by the modified Coffin-Manson method.

Strain energy-based fatigue life prediction under variable amplitude loadings

  • With the aim to evaluate the fatigue damage accumulation and predict the residual life of engineering components under variable amplitude loadings, this paper proposed a new strain energy-based damage accumulation model by considering both effects of mean stress and load interaction on fatigue life in a low cycle fatigue (LCF) regime. Moreover, an integrated procedure is elaborated for facilitating its application based on S-N curve and loading conditions. Eight experimental datasets of aluminum alloys and steels are utilized for model validation and comparison. Through comparing experimental results with model predictions by the proposed, Miner's rule, damaged stress model (DSM) and damaged energy model (DEM), results show that the proposed one provides more accurate predictions than others, which can be extended for further application under multi-level stress loadings.

Effects of viscous damping models on a single-layer latticed dome during earthquakes

  • Rayleigh damping model is recommended in the recently developed Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering (PBEE) methodology, but this methodology does not provide sufficient information due to the complexity of the damping mechanism. Furthermore, each Rayleigh-type damping model may have its individual limitations. In this study, Rayleigh-type damping models that are used widely in engineering practice are discussed. The seismic performance of a large-span single-layer latticed dome subjected to earthquake ground motions is investigated using different Rayleigh damping models. Herein a simulation technique is developed considering low cycle fatigue (LCF) in steel material. In the simulation technique, Ramberg-Osgood steel material model with the low cycle fatigue effect is used to simulate the non-uniformly distributed material damping and low cycle fatigue damage in the structure. Subsequently, the damping forces of the structure generated by different damping models are compared and discussed; the effects of the damping ratio and roof load on the damping forces are evaluated. Finally, the low cycle fatigue damage values in sections of members are given using these damping models. Through a comparative analysis, an appropriate Rayleigh-type damping model used for a large span single-layer latticed dome subjected to earthquake ground motions is determined in terms of the existing damping models.

압전세라믹 냉각홴에 의한 강제 공랭 모듈 주위의 열전달특성 (Heat Transfer Characteristics Around a Surface-Mounted Module Cooled by Piezoelectric Fan)

  • This paper reports the fluid flow and heat transfer around a module cooled by forced air flow generated by a piezoelectric(PZT) cooling fan. The fluids are locally accelerated by a flexible PZT fan which deflects inside a fluid transport system of comparatively simple structure mounted on a PCB in a parallel-plate channel(450${\times}$80${\times}$700㎣). Input voltages of 20-100V and a resonance frequency of 23㎐ were used to vibrate the cooling fan. Input power to the module was 4W. The fluid flow around the module was visualized by using PIV system. The temperature distributions around a heated module were visualized by using liquid crystal film(LCF). The cooling effect using a PZT fan was independent of the vent area ratios at the channel inlet and was similar to the forced convection cooling. We found that the flow type was Y-shape and the cooling effect was increased by the wake generated by a piezoelectric cooling fan.

비결정질철산화물 원위치 형성을 통한 비소오염토양 안정화 및 X선 분광분석법의 활용에 대한 연구 (Study on Stabilization of Arsenic in Soil through in situ Formation of Amorphous Fe Oxides and use of X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the in situ formation of amorphous Fe oxides as a stabilization technology in As-contaminated soil. After addition of ferric nitrate and the neutralizing agent, most of extractable fractions of As in soil (i.e., SO42- and PO43--extractable As) was converted into As bound to amorphous Fe oxides. In addition, results of solubility bioavailability research consortium (SBRC) test indicated that a significant amount of As in untreated soil changed to a non-bioaccessible form after stabilization. The reason was attributed to the newly formed amorphous Fe oxides in the stabilized soil, which was confirmed by linear combination of fitting (LCF) using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) analysis. Interestingly, after five months of aging of the stabilized soil, ferrihydrite and schwertmannite newly formed in the soil were transformed to crystalline Fe oxides such as goethite, and further decrease in SBRC extractable fraction of As was observed. The results suggest that co-precipitated As with amorphous Fe oxides can be further immobilized with time, due to the crystallization of amorphous Fe oxides.

균열선단의 소성스트레치를 이용한 피로균열성장모델 (A model of fatigue crack growth based on plastic stretch at the crack tip)

  • 피로균열성장모델을 유도하고 지연모델을 제안하였다. 피로균열성장모델은 피로균열선단의 소성변형으로 인하여 균열표면에 발생하는 잔류소성스트레치를 고려하고 있다. 균열 성장률은 균열선단 재료요소의 소성변형에너지와 누적피로손상으로부터 계산된다. 유도한 균열성장모델로부터 계산한 균열성장률은 AL6061-T651과 17-4PH 주강의 시험결과와 잘 일치하고 있다. 피로균열성장지연모델은 인장과대하중으로부터 생성된 잔류소성스트레치를 근거로 하고 있으며, 인장과대하중은 다음 하중 사이클의 소성변형률을 감소시킨다. Strip-yield모델을 이용하여 균열선단의 소성역을 계산하였다. 새로 제안된 지연모델은 인장과대하중하의 피로균열선장특성 및 지체지연 현상을 잘 기술하고 있다.

850℃에서의 Alloy 617 용접재의 저사이클 피로 특성 (Low Cycle Fatigue Behavior of Alloy617 Weldment at 850℃)

  • Alloy 617은 초고온가스로(VHTR)의 중간열교환기(IHX)의 유력한 후보 재료 중의 하나이다. $850^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 Alloy 617 용접재의 저사이클 피로 거동을 고찰하기 위하여, 완전 양진 변형률제어 피로시험이 0.6에서 1.5%의 전변형률범위에서 수행되었다. 용접재 시험편은 V-그루브 형상의 가스텅그스텐아크 용접한 용접 패드로부터 가공되었다. 피로수명은 전변형률범위가 증가할수록 감소하였다. 모든 실험조건에서 Alloy 617 용접재 시험편의 반복 응력 반응 거동은 초기 수 사이클에서 반복 변형률 경화현상을 나타내었다. 또한 모든 피로 균열의 발생과 전파는 입내파괴의 파손 모드를 보였다.
