나노초 UV 레이저를 이용한 분말사출 부품의 미세기공 (Micromachining of powder injection molded parts using ns UV laser)

  • ln this work, the feasibility of using a UV laser for micromachining of powder injection molded parts is examined experimentally. The results, although preliminary, indicate that microfabrication of various parts by laser micromachining of the injection molded parts and then sintering is promising. Particularly, micromachining of a mixture composed of stainless steel particles and polyrner binders was studied using a KrF excimer laser.

30GW급 대출력 글라스레이저의 개발연구 (A study on development of 30GW class high power glass laser system)

  • The high power glass laser system was designed and constracted which consisted of a TEM$\_$00/ mode Q-switching oscillator, a pulse shaping, system, two-stage pre-amplifiers, five-stage main amplifiers, a Faraday rotator, and a uni-guide slit. The laser output of 3OGW with the pulsewidth of 2 nsec was obtained by performing the amplifiing experiment in this system. When the laser light with the pulsewidth of 10 nsec was amplified, the large factor of amplification was obtained in the beginning of pulse, but the factor of amplification decreased gradually in the later part of pulse. Therefore, the laser light which has short pulsewidth of-2nsec must be amplified in order to obtain the larger factor of amplification. When the laser beam from the high power glass laser system was irradiated to plasma, the reflected laser light from plasma which occured inevitably could be attenuated to the order of 10$\^$-4/ by using the Faraday rotator and the uni-guide slit.

심미치료에 레이저를 활용한 다양한 임상적용 (Various clinical use of laser in esthetic treatment)

  • The most valuable site of laser treatment is analgesic effect and fast healing process. If we understand an use this advantage correctly, it will helpful in relationship with patients and hospital management. So this study reported clinical cases about laser used in esthetic treatment with literature review. Periodontal treatment using laser was taken for patient who complain about gingival swelling during orthodontic treatment. And, esthetic plastic treatment using laser for alveoar reduction was taken for patient who complained about esthetic problem of maxillary gingiva. The treatment using laser can shorten the inconvenience and complicated treatment process and minimize patient's fear and discomfort during treatment procedure. So patients and clinicians can expect competent result in clinical cases. The laser for esthetic treatment was valuable.

이산화탄소(CO2) 레이저로 치료하면 좋은 구강점막질환 (Carbon dioxide LASER-aided management of oral mucosal diseases)

  • Mess removal, electrocoagulation, cryosurgery are conventional methods in the treatment of various oral mucosal diseases. However, there are several problems or complication during or after surgery using conventional tools. Recently, LASER gradually become useful tool in the surgery of oral mucosal diseases. Of the LASER, carbon dioxide-mediated LASER is widely used one. Carbon dioxide LASER has many advantages such as good bleeding control, decreased damage to adjacent tissue, decreased pain and swelling, reduced scar formation, even bacteriocidal effects. In this reports, the author describe pros and cons of LASER, especially focused on carbon dioxide, and shed light on the field of LASER application in treatment of various oral mucosal diseases.

  • Low level laser therapy has various therapy effects, This paper performed the basic study for fabricating the low level laser therapy apparatus, and one of the goals of this paper was to make this apparatus used handily. The apparatus has been fabricated using the laser diode and microprocessor unit. The apparatus used a 660nm, 785nm and 850nm laser diode for laser medical therapy and was designed for a pulse width modulation type to increase stimulation effects. To raise the stimulus effect of the human body, the optical irradiation frequency could be set up. In result, the $1{\sim}10\;Hz$ irradiation frequency could be controlled stably.

  • Recent progress in high power lasers enables us to access a regime of high-energy-density and/or ultra-strong fields that was not accessible before, opening up a fundamentally new physical domain which includes laboratory astrophysics and laser nuclear physics. In this article, new applications of high-energy and ultra-intense laser will be reviewed.

  • Laser cladding is a technique for modification on surface in materials. This study describes a laser cladding equipment design and the results of laser cladding nickel on rolled steel for general structure. The laser clsdding equipment designed to consider continuous supply, a fixed quantity. The material used MC plastic. Laser cladding condition is found out by processing parameters. The experiment advanced to suppy substrate with powder. The substrate is rolled steel for general structure(KS D 3503) and powder is using the nickel powder for the corrosion resitance, wear resistance and surface hardness of materials. When the substrate travel on X-Y table, laser beam irradiates to prevent from oxidize with shielding gas on it. The obtained specimens measure the victors hardness test. For the research laser cladding results make a comparative study the microstructure.

  • Forming sheet metal by laser-induced thermal stresses (laser forming) has been extensively studied, and the research has focused on two-dimensional geometries using a multi-pass straight line scan. Recently there came out some useful studies or three-dimensional laser forming which is applied to doubly curved shapes. The task of 3D laser forming sheet metal is to determine a set of process parameters such as laser scanning paths, laser power and scanning speed that will make a given shape. New method for laser forming of a doubly curved surface by using geometrical information was proposed and verified by experiments. This method shows good performance in the sense of calculation time and accuracy compared to the inherent strain method.

  • The effects of laser welding beam quality is very large. However, not an analysing case was found for the difference on the plasma emission signal during laser welding according to the beam quality. Therefore, in this study, we compared and evaluated penetration and signal change according to the beam quality at the a similar wavelength band by using a fiber laser and Nd:YAG laser. In addition, we took high speed videography in order to make sure that FFT analysis reflects the actual motion period of keyhole and found the period of video analysis and FFT mostly matched. As a result, it is expected to secure higher reliability than evaluating signal intensity when appling FFT to monitoring.

  • Optically transparent materials such as fused silica, quartz and crystal have become important in the filed of optics and optoelectronics. Laser ablation continues to grow as an important technique for micromachining and surface modification of various materials, because many problems caused by direct contact between tools and workpiece can be avoided. Especially, laser ablation with excimer lasers enables fine micromachining of transparent materials such as fused silica, quartz and crystal, etc. In this study, laser-induced wet etching of fused silica in organic solution was conducted. KrF excimer laser was used as a light source and acetone solution of pyrene was used as etchant. Changing the number of laser pulses, micro holes of various depths are fabricated.
