L(2, 1)-labeling problem of a graph G = (V, E) is a problem to find an efficient way to distribute radio frequencies to various wireless equipments in wireless networks. In this work, we suggest a Simulated Annealing algorithm that can be applied to the L(2, 1)-labeling problem. By applying the suggested algorithm to various graphs we will try to show the efficiency of our algorithm.
Chitinase-Like Proteins (CLPs) are an evolutionarily conserved protein which lose their enzymatic activity for degrading chitin macromolecules. Chitinase-3-like-1 (Chi3l1) is a type of CLP that is highly expressed in epithelial cells, macrophages, etc., and is known to have correlations with type 2 inflammation and cancer. Although the increased level of Chi3l1 in the blood was reported in various disease patients, the function of Chi3l1 in adaptive immunity has been totally unknown. Recently, we found that Chi3l1 is expressed in T cells and has a negative regulatory role in T-cell activation and proliferation. A genetic ablation study of Chi3l1 in T cells showed hyperresponsiveness to TcR stimulation, which increased proliferation and Th1 differentiation. A significant increase of $IFN{\gamma}$ signaling in Chi3l1-deficient T cells synergistically increased Th1 and CTL functions against melanoma cells in vitro and in vivo. In addition, targeted knockdown by Chi3l1 siRNA complexed with the cell-penetrating peptide dNP2, which showed decreased pulmonary melanoma metastasis with increased infiltration of Th1 and CTL in the lung. This study first suggests that Chi3l1 is a novel regulator of Th1/CTL responses and could be a target for treating cancer to increase tumor immunity.

This study was carried out for 20 days in a bio-drying batch reactor under the blowing conditions of 0.75, 1.00, 1.25, and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$ in order to optimize the operating conditions for the bio-drying of food wastes. The decomposition rate of organic matter during the bio-drying operation period was analyzed using modified Gompertz model. The maximum organic degradation (P) was 2.31, 2.52, 2.27 and 1.88 kg at air flow rates of 0.75, 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, and the maximum organic degradation rate was 0.33, 0.45, 0.28, and 0.18 kg/day at 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, respectively, showing excellent organic decomposition efficiency at a air flow rate of $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$. The lag growth phase time (${\lambda}$) of the bio-drying reactor was 2.10, 1.48, 1.15, and 1.06 days at 0.75, 1.00, 1.25 and $1.50L/min{\cdot}kg$, respectively. The water removal rate in the operation of bio-drying reactor of food waste increased with the increase of air flow rate from the early stage of bio-drying to the middle stage, and the highest water removal rate was observed at the air flow rate of $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$ at the end of bio-drying. The optimum air flow rate condition of bio-drying reactor was $1.00L/min{\cdot}kg$.
This study aimed to investigate the suppressive effect of acorn extracts, by evaluating 70% ethanol extract (AE) and hot water extract (AW) using 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. We applied various levels (0, 100, 200, 300 and $500 {\mu}g/mL$) of AE and AW to 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. The cell viability of the 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was not affected by up $300 {\mu}g/mL$ of extracts, but was suppressed by level $500{\mu}g/mL$ of both AE and AW by 20% and 9% respectively. The accumulation of lipid droplets in differentiated 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was dose-dependently suppressed by AE and AW. Especially, at high concentrations ($300{\mu}g/mL$), AE (42%) was more effective than AW (41%). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) was also dose-dependently suppressed by treatment with AE (58%) and AW (52%). With regard to the mRNA related to differentiated 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, $PPAR-{\gamma}$ and aP2 were suppressed by treatment with AE (54 and 40%) and AW (38 and 18%). From our results, acorn extract (AE) has more suppressive effects than AW in differentiated 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. We therefore concluded that acorn has suppressive effects against obesity in differentiated 3T3-L1 cells due to antioxidation.
This study was performed to compare the differences between total fat area, subcutaneous fat area and visceral fat area according to L1-S1 inter vertebral disc level in asymptomatic Korean patients with non-contrast abdominal CT scan. The location of the maximum fat ratio of the total fat area is the total fat area measured in male L2-3, L3-4, L4-5, female L4-5, and L5-S1. The location showing the maximum fat ratio of the subcutaneous fat area is the subcutaneous fat area measured in male L4-5, and the woman is the subcutaneous fat area measured in L4-5 and L5-S1. The location of the maximum fat ratio of visceral fat area was the visceral fat area measured in L1-2 and L2-3 males, and there was no difference in visceral fat area according to the measured position in females. Although abdominal fat measurement is common at the L4-5 inter vertebral disc level, fat distribution varies widely depending on nationality, race, and gender. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze through the research data which location to choose according to the research purpose, and to mention why the location is appropriate.
This study was conducted to investigate distribution of selenium in Gangwon highland Province and to confirm the effect of sodium selenate added nutrient solution on the selenium content of some western vegetables; beet, broccoli, cabbage lettuce, celery, and parsley. The contents of selenium were distributed from 0.024 to $0.038\;mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ in soil of Gangwon highland province. As the selenium content in soil increased, the selenium content in broccoli was increased in highland of Gangwon province. The selenium content of broccoli showed $10.5{\sim}17.9\;mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}DW$ 1311owe4 by celery ($6.02\;mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}DW$). Beet, cabbage lettuce, and parsley contained just about $1\;mg{\cdot}kg^{-1}DW$ in highland of Gangwon province. Some western vegetables grown by fertigation supplied $2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sodium selenate were shown better growth and higher selenium content than those of $0\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sodium selenate supplied treatment(control). The selenium contents of western vegetables supplied $2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sodium selenate in fertigation culture for 60 days were $76.2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ in broccoli, $69.1\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ in parsley, $63.2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ in celery, $54.2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ in beet, $8.3\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ in cabbage lettuce. Those selenium content of broccoli, celery, and parsley treated $2\;mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ sodium selenate were followed the order 4.2 times, 10.5 times and 62.5 times higher in compared to control.
This study was conducted to examine the effect of plant growth regulators on the formation of adventitious bud callus(ABC) and plant regeneration in shoot tip culture of Zantedeschia spp. 'Florex Gold'. Treatment of $0.1mgL^{-1}\;N$-phenyl-N'-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-ylurea(thidiazuron, TDZ) was more promotive for formation of ABC in shoot tip culture than 6-benzylaminopurine(BA) treatment, and short shoots were developed. Comparing to treatment of BA, mixing treatment of BA and 1-naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA) inhibited the formation of ABC and multiple shoot. The proliferation of ABC derived from sections(0.3 cm) of ABC produced by shoot tip culture in medium supplemented with $0.1mgL^{-1}\;TDZ$ was more effective in medium with $0.1mgL^{-1}\;TDZ$ or $2.0mgL^{-1}\;BA$ than the other treatments. The shoot regeneration and growth from sections of ABC was more promotive in treatment of $0.001mgL^{-1}\;TDZ$. Also, the root growth from sections of ABC was better in medium with $0.001mgL^{-1}\;TDZ$ or $0.2mgL^{-1}\;BA$. Consequently, in vitro mass production of Zantedeschia spp. 'Florex Gold' can be obtained via indirect organogenesis through plant regeneration and proliferation of ABC which was derived from shoot tip culture at $0.1mgL^{-1}\;TDZ$.
Four strains of Sporobolomyces genera were isolated from soy sauce mashes at the fermentating and aging periods and identified. Their salt-resistance and color formation were examined in order to improve the color density and nutrition of red pepper paste preparations. The results obtained were as follows; a) The strain L1, L2, L3 and L4 isolated were identified as Sporobolomyces gracilis, Sporobolomyces roseus, Sporobolomyes gracilis and Sporobolomyces roseus respectively. b) The yeasts isolated were grown on the media containing $0{\sim}10$ percent of sodium chloride but their growth were almost restrained on the media containing $15{\sim}18$ per cent of sodium chloride. And the strain L2 and L3 were more salt-resistant as compared with L1 and L4. c) The strain L3 were the best among the 4 strains of yeasts comparison with their salt-resistance, color and flavour formation.

Background: Manual traction with a belt is a physiotherapy treatment method that reduces disk pressure and widens the disk space. In clinical settings, it is applied to numerous patients with herniated intervertebral disk (HIVD). This study aimed to identify the effects of manual traction with a belt on the intervertebral space in patients with lumbar HIVDs. Methods: The intervention was performed on 17 patients with lumbar HIVDs who were divided into two groups: one with eight patients having HIVD at L4~L5 and another group with nine patients having HIVD at L5~S1. The participants received manual traction with a belt twice a week for 12 weeks, and radiographic imaging was used to visualize the intervertebral space and compare it before and after treatment. Results: Manual traction with a belt increased the lumbar intervertebral space at L4~L5 and L5~S1 in patients with L4~L5 HIVD. A significant difference was observed in the L4-L5 distance (p<.01); however, no significant difference was observed in the L5~S1 distance (p>.05). The intervertebral space significantly increased at both L4~L5 and L5~S1 in patients with L5~S1 HIVD (p<.05). Conclusion: Thus, manual traction with a belt increased the intervertebral space in patients with L4~L5 and L5~S1 HIVDs. These results are expected to guide studies on manual traction with belts in clinical settings in the future. Further studies using the present research as an objective study method are anticipated.
