Objective : The aim of this study was to evaluate the utility of volume-rendered helical computerized tomography (CT) angiography focusing tracheostomy tube and innominate artery for prevention of tracheoinnominate artery fistula. Methods : The authors retrospectively analyzed 22 patients with tracheostomy who had checked CT angiography. To evaluate the relationship between tracheostomy tube and innominate artery, we divided into three categories. First proximal tube position based on cervical vertebra, named "tracheostomy tube departure level (TTDL)". Second, distal tube position and course of innominate artery, named "tracheostomy tube-innominate artery configuration (TTIC)". Third, the gap between the tube and innominate artery, named "tracheostomy tube to innominate artery gap (TTIG)". The TTDL/TTIC and TTIG are based on 3-dimensional (3D) reconstruction around tracheostomy and enhanced axial slices of upper chest, respectively. Results : First, mean TTDL was $6.8{\pm}0.6$. Five cases (23%) were lower than C7 vertebra. Second, TTIC were remote to innominate artery (2 cases; 9.1 %), matched with it (14 cases; 63.6%) or crossed it (6 cases; 27.3%). Only 9% of cases were definitely free from innominate artery injury. Third, average TTIG was $4.3{\pm}4.6$ mm. Surprisingly, in 6 cases (27.3%), innominate artery, trachea wall and tracheostomy tube were tightly attached all together, thus have much higher probability of erosion. Conclusion : If low TTDL, match or crossing type TTIC with reverse-L shaped innominate artery, small trachea and thin TTIG are accompanied all together, we may seriously consider early plugging and tube removal.
To evaluate the current practices of the tube feeding and the status of tube feeding patient 76 adult in-patients at 6 hospitals located in Seoul and Chung-buk province were examined through reviewing patient charts observing patients and interviewing patients nurses dietitians patients' family or care-givers. The results were as follows : 1) An average age of the patients was 54.5 years with 41% over 60 years old. Patients with decreased mental status dysphagia esophageal obstruction and respiratory problem were fed by tubes. 2) The range of duration of tube feeding is between 4 days and 6 years. Most patients were received formula through nasogastric tube(89.5%) while 7.9% of gastrostomy and 2.6% of jejunostomy. Administration method for formula were bolus feeding regardless of the route of formula delivery. 3) Mean total calories received for men were 1590 kcal and 1450 kcal for female. Mean volume per meal was 282m, l and mean frequency of feeding was 5.68 while mean feeding interval 3$\frac{1}{4}$ hours and mean rate of infusion 68.4ml/min. All patients received hospital-blenderi-zed formula as the major source of nutrition. Home-blenderized formula and commercial formula as a supplement were used 35%, 13.2% respectively. 4) Thirty-eight percent of patients was hypoalbuminemia and 61% was at the moderate level of deficiency in hemoglobin. 5) Complications associated with tube feeding were diarrhea (22.4%) constipation(21.1%) vomiting(11.8%) and so on. 6) Serum albumin levels of patients who have complications associated with tube feeding were significantly lower than those of patients without complications In planning a tube feeding regimen the type of a formula must be integrated with both a delivery system and a protocol for administering the tube feeding. the multidisciplinary effort required to deliver enteral therapy is essential to improve current practices used at hospitals.
This paper describes experimental study and performance improvement of 2 stage Gifford-McMahon (G-M) type pulse tube cryocooler for cryopump. The objective of this study is to improve the efficiency of 2 stage pulse tube cryocooler for substituting 2 stage G-M cryocooler used in cryopump. The target cooling capacities are 5 W at 20 K and 35 W at 80 K for the $1^{st}$ and the $2^{nd}$ stage, respectively. These values are good cooling capacities for vacuum level in medium size ICP 200 cryopump. Design of the 2 stage pulse tube cryocooler is conducted by FZKPTR(Forschungs Zentrum Karlsruhe Pulse Tube Refrigerator) program. In order to improve the performance of 2 stage pulse tube cryocooler, U-type pulse tube cryocooler is fabricated and connecting tubes are minimized for reducing dead volumes and pressure losses. Also, to get larger capacities, orifice valves and double inlet valves are optimized and the compressor of 6 kW is used. On the latest unit, the lowest temperatures of 2 stage pulse tube cryocooler are 42 K ($1^{st}$ stage) and 8.3 K ($2^{nd}$ stage) and the cooling capacities are 40 W at 82.9 K ($1^{st}$ stage) and 10 W at 20.5 K ($2^{nd}$ stage) with 6.0 kW of compressor input power. This pulse tube cryocooler is suited for commercial medium size cryopump. In performance test of cryopump with 2 stage pulse tube cryocooler, pumping speed for gaseous nitrogen is 4,300 L/s and the ultimate vacuum pressure is $7.5{\times}10^{-10}$ mbar.
Studies were conducted to determine the clinical application of photodiode. We compared photodiode with ion-chamber as to change of tube potential, tube current, mAs and measured decreasing rate of penetration dose. When tube potential was changed from 60 kVp to 120 kVp, output of photodiode and ion-chamber were changed from 0.4 to 1.625, and 1.018 to 4.268, respectively. This was a good agreement to theory that $I=Kv^2it$(I is intensity, K is constant, v is tube potential, i is tube current, t is time). Characteristics for change of tube current and mAs were also a good agreement to theory. And comparison in decreasing rate of penetration dose was similar except above 6 cm in depth. Our results indicated that photodiode was a good instrument for relative measurement of radiation exposure, but we can not use the photodiode for absolute radiation dose.
The photocatalytic oxidation of Rhodamine B(RhB) was studied using photocatalytic reactor filled with module of quartz tube. Module of quartz tube consisted of small quartz tube (inner diameter, 1.5 mm; outer diameter, 3 mm) bundle coated with powder $TiO_2$ and uncoated large quartz tube (inner diameter, 20 mm; outer diameter, 22 mm). Two 30 W germicidal lamp was used as the light source and the reactor volume was 0.5 l. The effects of parameters such as the coating materials and numbers, initial concentration, $H_{2}O_2$ dose and metal deposition (Ag, Pt and Fe) and simultaneous application of $H_{2}O_2$ and metal deposition. The results showed that the initial reaction constant of quartz module coated with powder $TiO_2$ was higher 1.4 time than that of the $TiO_2$ sol and optimum coating number is twice. In order to increase reaction rate, simultaneous application of photocatalytic and photo-fenton reaction using Fe coating and dose $H_{2}O_2$ dose increased reaction rate largely.
The bending process for the curved tube can be developed by the hot metal extrusion machine with the multiple punches moving in the different velocity. The bending phenomenon has been studied to be occurred by the different of velocity at the die extrusion. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container and by the welding of billets inside the porthole die chamber. The multiple billets are moving differently by the multiple extrusion punches controlled by PLC with the servo mechanism units. The results of the experiments show that the curved tube can be bended by the extrusion process and that the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of thick tube, tile folding and wrinkling of thin tube can not be shown after the bending processing by the extrusion bending machine.

In this study, high performance waste heat recovery heat exchanger was developed using the bayonet tube with spiral serrated fins. Especially, heat exchanger of the bayonet tube type was operated well because of double water passes mechanism and characteristics. A cooling water Passes down inner tubes to thimble-form tubes, then flows back up as it boils. The heat exchanger of bayonet tube type was composed of steel tube with 7channels$(I.D_1\;14mm.\;I.D_2\;31.6mm)$ and spiral serrated fins. The performance tests were conducted under the following conditions A cooling water flow rate was 273kg/h and engine l·pm was varied from 750rpm to 3500 rpm. From the experimental result. waste heat recovery was 9.21kW when engine rpm was 3500. and pressure drop was $15\~260mmHg/m^3$ The effectiveness of heat exchanger was about /$0.7\~0.9$. The performance of heat exchanger was evaluated by using the $\varepsilon-NTU$ method. In the study the NTU of the heat exchanger was $1.57\~2.33$.
Because of the heavy demand of confining steel to restore the column ductility in seismic regions, it is more efficient to confine these columns by hollow steel tube to form concrete-filled-steel-tube (CFST) column. Compared with transverse reinforcing steel, steel tube provides a stronger and more uniform confining pressure to the concrete core, and reduces the steel congestion problem for better concrete placing quality. However, a major shortcoming of CFST columns is the imperfect steel-concrete interface bonding occurred at the elastic stage as steel dilates more than concrete in compression. This adversely affects the confining effect and decrease the elastic modulus. To resolve the problem, it is proposed in this study to use external steel confinement in the forms of rings and ties to restrict the dilation of steel tube. For verification, a series of uni-axial compression test was performed on some CFST columns with external steel rings and ties. From the results, it was found that: (1) Both rings and ties improved the stiffness of the CFST columns and (2) the rings improve significantly the axial strength of the CFST columns while the ties did not improve the axial strength. Lastly, a theoretical model for predicting the axial strength of confined CFST columns will be developed.
