Pancreatic lipase-inhibitory activity of the rhizome of Rhei Rhizoma and its antihyperlipidemic activity were measured. Rhei Rhizoma inhibited pancreatic lipase with $IC_{50}$ value of 6.5 mg/ml (triolein as a substrate). Rhei Rhizoma significantly inhibited serum TG level in corn oil feeding-induced mice, and serum TG and cholesterol in Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemic mice. However, Rhei Rhizoma did not show the hypolipidemic activity in high cholesterol diet-induced hyperlipidemic mice. When in vitro pancreatic lipase-inhibitory and in vivo antihyperlipidemic activities of Whangryunhaedoktang (WT) and Chunghyuldan (CD), which is consisted of ingredients of WT and Rhei Rhizoma, were measured, CD exhibited more potent inhibitory activities than WT. Therefore these results suggest that antihyperlipidemic activity of Rhei Rhizoma and CD may be more or less originated from the inhibition of pancreatic lipase.

Scientific CubeSat with Instruments for Global Magnetic Fields and Radiations (SIGMA) is a 3-U size CubeSat that will be operated in low earth orbit (LEO). The SIGMA communication system uses a very high frequency (VHF) band for uplink and an ultra high frequency (UHF) band for downlink. Both frequencies belong to an amateur band. The ground station that communicates with SIGMA is located at Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory (KHAO). For reliable communication, we carried out a laboratory (LAB) test and far-field tests between the CubeSat and a ground station. In the field test, we considered test parameters such as attenuation, antenna deployment, CubeSat body attitude, and Doppler frequency shift in transmitting commands and receiving data. In this paper, we present a communication performance test of SIGMA, a link budget analysis, and a field test process. We also compare the link budget with the field test results of transmitting commands and receiving data.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the nature of life among homosexuals in Korea. Method: Phenomenological methodology was used for the study. From February 2015 to January 2016, data were collected from 8 homosexuals through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's framework. Result: Five theme clusters and fourteen themes were identified for the life experiences of homosexuals. The five theme clusters were 'alien in an intolerant society', 'a fateful gender that can't be denied', 'process of coming out', 'endure as a homosexual', and 'future perspectives where expectation and anxiety coexist'. Conclusion: This study provides deep insight into the experience of homosexuals's lives in changing society and culture of Korea. Nursing practices should be improved for supportive attitudes.

During the screening program to discover antiatopic agents from herbal formulas, we investigated the inhibitory effect of Hwangryunhaedoktang (HT) on passive cutaneous anaphylaxis and oxazolone-induced mouse ear dermatitis. HT significantly inhibited PCA reaction in mice at doses of 50 and 200 mg/kg with inhibitory activity of 31 and 53%, respectively. HT at concentration of 0.05 and 0.1% inhibited ear swelling by 23 and 46% at 16 days in oxazolone-induced mouse ear dermatitis. Both HT with anti without human intestinal microflora showed potent inhibitory activity on the ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase release induced by IgE. Based on these findings, HT may be a usable agent for skin disorder contact dermatitis.

In the case of designing a high dose rate remote controlled afterloading treatment room with existing hospital facilities. We must construct the effective protective barriers so as to reduce the primary and scattered radiation up to the maximum permissible dose level. It is difficult to reinforce the barrier thickness of the shielding requirements because of the limited space and the problem of the existing building structure at the surrounding area. Therefore we can reduce the intensity of primary radiation to the required degree at the location of interest with installing the appropriate I shaped Pb barriers between the radiation source and the shielding wall of the concrete. As a result, it was possible to reduce the intensity of the primary radiation below the M.P.D level by using additional Pb barriers instead of increasing thickness of concrete wall.

고 에너지 방사선으로 용적이 적은 표재성 종양 및 부정형의 체표면과 경사진 조사야에 대한 방사선 치료시 종양 용적내에 균등한 선량분포를 얻기 위해서 Wedge filter 기법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 코발트 $60{\Gamma}$선 치료를 위한 Semi-Universal Wedge filter의 제작과 임의의 조사야에 대한 최적한 출력 및 정확한 조작방법을 기술하고 방사선 치료계획의 최적화를 기하기 위해서 Wedge filter의 임상응용 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

We present medium resolution spectra in the near-infrared (IR) band 1.4-1.8 microns at a resolving power of R = 5000-10000 of template stars in G, K, and M types with luminosity classes of III observed by the echelle spectrometer, IRCS, at the SUBARU 8.2 m telescope. Identification of lines in the template star spectra has been completed base on the reference of Arcturus spectrum. We measured equivalent width (EW) of the lines, and analyze the trends of EW through the stellar spectral types.

멀티미디어 기기의 발달과 인터넷의 확산 등의 영향으로 디지털 콘텐츠의 제작 및 유통이 일반화되면서 시장 활성화가 되었지만 불법복제로 인한 시장에 악영향도 미치고 있다. 그리하여 DRM이란 정보보호 기술이 일반화되고 그 기능이 중요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 데이터 전체를 암호화하는 방식의 DRM 시스템과는 달리 H.264/AVC의 특성을 이용하여 콘텐츠의 일부만을 암호화하여 서버에 최소한의 영향을 주면서 영상을 전송할 수 있는 효과적인 DRM 시스템을 제안하였다.
