한류 증진을 위한 CGV의 성장 전략: 중국 시장을 중심으로 (CGV's China Market-Oriented Growth Strategy for the Korean Wave)

  • 본 연구의 주요 목적은 최근 한류 증진과 국내 영화상영관(플랫폼)의 경쟁력을 향상시키기 위해 추진중인 CGV의 해외 성과를 분석하는데 있다. 특히, 본 연구는 CGV가 경영진의 기업가적 지향성과 차별화된 시장 진입 전략을 토대로 어떻게 세계 영화 최대 시장인 중국에서 시장 점유율을 높였는지에 관해 초점을 두고 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 중국 영화상영 산업에서 진행 중인 CGV의 시장 진출 및 확대 과정을 바탕으로 주요 성공 요인이 무엇인지 도출하고자 깊이 있는 사례연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구 결과, CGV는 시장 상황에 따라 각기 다른 차별화된 성장 전략을 각국에서 펼치고 있었으며, 이와 관련하여 각 국가에서 성공할 수 있는 주요 요인도 다르다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 다만, 가장 중요한 점은 수익이 아닌 한류 증진이라는 비전을 제시하고 이를 실현하고자 차별화된 시장 진입전략을 추동한 경영진의 노력이었다. 이와 같은 경영진의 기업가적 지향성은 중국 시장에서 높은 브랜드 충성도와 시장 점유율 확대에 기여했다. 더 나아가 CGV의 활발한 해외 진출은 국내 영화상영 산업의 글로벌화에 기여했으며, 한류를 더 많이 확산시키는데 긍정적인 역할이 되고 있다. 마지막으로, 연구결과와 관련된 학문적 기여도 및 실무적 시사점을 결론 부분에 제시하였다.

빅데이터 분석을 통한 영화 관객수, 매출액 예측 모델 (Movie attendance and sales forecast model through big data analysis)

  • 한국영화 100년 역사 속에 한국영화는 2012년부터 해마다 총 관객 수 1억 명을 넘고 있고, 총 매출액은 1조를 바라보고 있다. 이러한 한국영화의 흥행가도에 영향을 준 것이 스마트폰 보급률 60%와 가입자 수 3천만 명을 넘은 2012년과 상관이 있을 것이라 추정을 해 본다. 이에 따라 2012년 전후로 영화흥행 요인변수에도 변화가 필요했고, 새로운 독립변수로 훈련시킨 예측모델을 가지고 실전데이터에 적용하여 예측해 보았다.

  • Many child actors have appeared in various movies as the Korean film industry continues to evolve. As more children appear in violent and raunchy scenes, there are more concerns about the movie's effect on child actors. In some Western countries, many strategies have been developed for child actors, but for the Korean movie industry, the conditions are still poor for them. Although children who enter the concrete operational period are able to think logically and systematically, they are yet limited by their experiences. Adolescents in the formal operational period try to deal with all of the possibilities and assumptions logically and systematically with freedom from realistic contents and experiences. This period is very important because adolescents become more sensitive to others' feelings and they should develop their ego identity. Several studies have reported the indirect experiences through media including how the movie affected children and adolescents negatively. Depending on the individual's morality, judgment and emotional status, these effects were variable and inconsistent and could be relieved by several interventions. We could anticipate much bigger emotional effect on child actors who are acting directly and then are confronting themselves in the scene. Therefore, we suggest that the emotional effects of the movies on child actors can be managed properly by considering children's cognitive ability and emotional status, and establishing protective strategies before they are exposed to problematic scenes. Of course, it should be followed by evaluating them after the exposure and with follow-up management, if necessary.

영화 「친절한 금자씨」에 나타난 팜므파탈 이미지 분석 (An Analysis of Image of Femme Fatale Represented in the Movie 「Sympathy for Lady Vengeance」)

  • The femme fatale image presently observable in various fields is reproducing its image through repetitive imitation, change and application, in particular, through 'movies' which have a greater ripple effect on the public than any other mass media by incessantly producing a countless number of images. This study aims to figure out the intrinsic meaning and the characteristics of the image of femme fatale, understand the modern expression of it in movies and finally shed light on its image represented in Korean movies. For this study, the literature and internet materials related to the image of femme fatale in the movie "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and the general concept of femme fatale were comprehensively surveyed. The femme fatale image which is represented in this movie is classified into 4 images ; disguise & mystery, retribution & cruelty, enchantment & beauty, salvation & redemption. The findings of this study provide an insight into how the femme fatale image is expressed in movies, the mass media which has a gigantic ripple effect, and provide the momentum to recognize the need and significance of understanding the femme fatale image represented in Korean movies.

  • The movie costumes may serve to change individuals'ego identity, shift a gender identity to another one and make multiple and plural gender identities shared. The unique identities shown in movies can influence the audience to the extent that they will imitate characters's costumes or appearance in their real life, replacing their inner, unrealizable and private fantasy with real one. The purpose of this study is to review the movies produced in 1930's and thereafter by categorizing the socio-cultural gender concepts into masculinity and feminity. Masculinity and Feminity are not attributions fixed by some physical characteristics, but it tends to be changed or expended by some social factors over time. In short, it may be a flexible, plural, individual and self-introspecive attribute. Movies present diverse types of masculinity and feminity, and in particular, the movie costumes specify them. In other words, the costumes may be model means expressing the masculinity and feminity, and the gender identities shown in the movies tend to be imitated, re-created or assumed by the audience. All in all, the movie costumes serve to take on the confrontation of masculinity and feminity between inner, unrealizable and private fantasy and external reality and thereby, expand it from internal to external issue and thus, change or reform masculinity and feminity.

한국 고전영화를 통해 본 실내 공간 특성에 관한 연구 - 표현주의 영화 하녀에 나타난 1960년대 주택공간을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Interior Design in Korean Classic Films - Focus on the housing of the expressionism film, 'Hanyeo' in 1960's -)

  • Interior design generally falls behind to architecture in its concept of conservational value as interior designs are more to the simple style or trend. Therefore, This study aims how the society and the major events in the 1960's and individual and group desires are portrayed in movies through the eyes of movie directors, and further how the concept of spaces and the features of the spaces are displayed. First, This paper analyzes the movies in the 1960's, especially the expressionism and psychological zeitgeist in "The Housemaid" directed by Kim Ki-Young that can be logically analyzed, following the signs in the movie. Secondly, It analyzes the images captured the scenes that best describe the underlying theme of the movie, revealing the features of the different spaces for different scenes. Moreover, It analyzes the correlation of the change in value, desire, and space of the time in the 1960's to see the feature of the spaces in the 1960 are represented in the movie. In conclusion, the realistic expressionism movie of Kim Ki-young's 'Housemaid' showing the everyday life of a family against the background of industrial capitalism reveals the intimate desire of the time with the director's perspective on the history. With Mise-en-Sc$\grave{e}$ne, we can understand the space structure of the time, the view on space structure and further the effect of modernization project on urban residential area.

데이터마이닝을 이용한 박스오피스 예측 (Prediction of box office using data mining)

  • 본 연구는 영화 흥행의 척도로서 총 관객수의 예측을 다루었다. 의사결정나무, MLP 신경망모형, 다항로짓모형, support vector machine과 같은 데이터마이닝 분류 기법들을 사용하여 개봉 전, 개봉 일, 개봉 1주 후, 그리고 개봉 2주 후 시점 별로 예측이 이루어진다. 국적, 등급, 개봉 월, 개봉 계절, 감독, 배우, 배급사, 관객수, 그리고 스크린 수와 같은 영화의 내재적인 속성을 나타내는 변수 뿐만 아니라 포털의 평점과 평가자 수, 블로그 수, 뉴스 수와 같은 온라인 구전 변수들이 예측변수로 사용되었다. 10-중 교차 검증에서 신경망모형의 정확도는 개봉 전 시점에서도 90% 이상의 높은 예측력을 보였다. 또한 최종 온라인 구전 변수의 추정치를 예측변수로 추가함으로서 예측의 정확도가 더 높아짐을 볼 수 있다.

블로그와 온라인 뉴스가 영화흥행에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증연구 : 영화 개봉 전·후의 구전효과를 중심으로 (An Empirical Study on the Impact of Blogs and Online News on the Success of Film : Focusing on Before and After Film Release)

  • As electronic word of mouth plays an important role in purchase behavior among consumers, the number of studies on the impact of electronic word of mouth is rapidly increasing. Nevertheless, it is difficult to discover comparative studies on the mass media which had a great impact on consumer's purchase behavior before the impact of electronic word of mouth becomes greater versus the social media where electronic words of mouth are created and distributed. It is considered that it seems to be necessary to find an appropriate mutual supplement point between the media designed for a successful marketing by comparing and analyzing the existing mass media versus the social media, major media for electronic word of mouth. Therefore, this study aims to compare and analyze the impact of comments on movie revenue in the representative forms of mass media such as online news and social media blogs. In particular, this study also considers an appropriate media for promoting movies by period by comparing and analyzing the two media before and after film release. For analysis, this study collects the information on the number of comments on online news and blogs in 70 Korean movies released in 2011 and 2012 from five weeks before film release to eight weeks after film release on a daily basis via Naver. This study also collects the information on the movie revenue using the statistical data of movie industry from Korean Film Commission. As a result of empirical data analysis, it is found that the two media showed no difference in movie revenue before film release, but after film release, the impact of blogs was more significant than that of online news.

SF 영화에 나타난 가죽 의상의 사이버 레지스탕스 미학 연구 -"Matrix I","Matrix II Reloaded"를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Cyber Resistance Aesthetics of Leather Clothes - Focused on the Movie "Matrix I","Matrix II Reloaded"-)

  • A leather clothes which was a representative item of an existed resistant image created a new esthetics. Cyber Resistance, being mixed with the highlighted cyber image in these days. Especially. the image of such new leather clothes appears apparently in SF movies. The purpose of this study is to examine this new esthetics through the leather clothes of the movie. $\ulcorner$Matrix$\urcorner$. currently becoming the subject of a conversation and affecting to a popular culture and the fashion and to help to the design idea of a unique leather clothes. The result of analyzing of the character in the movie is following. Trinity shows herself as a woman warrior by wearing tight black leather suit. Morpheus is described as a vague character with his old fashioned suit and leather trench coat. while Niobe carries an image of rebellious cyber warrior in her leather suit with unique texture. In addition. leather clothes on $\ulcorner$Matrix$\urcorner$ got the name of Matrix look and became a main theme in fashion collection. We can feel 'Cyber Resistance' esthetics in that leather clothes through the movie and fashion collection and summarize into three following features, First. it's grafted into the dichotomous value by progress and return as a retro futurism. Second. it moderately express a rebellious image of punk into a cyber image. Third. it makes cyber warrior's image that is neutralized mixing military and fetish properly.

  • 넷플릭스, 아마존, 유튜브 등 대형 플랫폼에서는 고객의 다양한 정보를 활용하여 정밀한 추천시스템을 마련하고 여기서 추천된 상당수의 아이템이 실제 구매로 이어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 추천 컨텐츠의 속성에 따라 사용자의 선호도에 차이가 있을 것이라고 예상하고 콘텐츠의 속성에 따라 군집분석을 실시하였다. 속성의 형태와 관계없이 사용할 수 있도록 Gower 거리를 사용했다. 본 논문에서는 영화 평점 사이트인 'The Movie Dataset'의 자료를 이용하여 영화의 기본정보인 장르, 감독 및 배우 변수를 바탕으로 사용자를 계층적으로 분류하고 영화를 추천하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 추천 시스템을 평가하기 위하여 각 사용자 그룹별로 훈련자료와 검증자료로 나누어 정밀도를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 UBCF보다 월등히 높은 정밀도를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.
