  • The purpose of this study was to identify the aesthetic characteristics of modern fashion design use with a particular focus on transparency, and to help create future vision and feature. As part of the methodology for this study, I examined the concept of transparency, its characteristics and how it was expressed through art, architecture and other designs using literature research. Furthermore, I performed justifiable analysis on modern fashion design which used transparency from the 1990s till present. The following concepts were deciphered from information: Firstly, the concept of purity was highlighted. The emphasis here was to enhance the body's natural beauty with simple silhouettes that do not restrict its curves, using light materials such as clear vinyl, semi-clear materials or thin chiffon. Secondly, to express sensuality by exposing the body's curves with tight wrapping using clear materials, or with indirect and symbolic see-through techniques using contrasting clear, semi-clear and opaque materials. Thirdly, to express futurism through cyber and electronic images using high tech or shiny materials such as metal or holograms. Mechanical movements or effects of light are also used. Fourthly, to express playful characteristic by promoting surprises and disharmony that contradict with traditional techniques. This is carried out by intentionally exaggerating certain portions of clothes through disorder elements or confusion, and unsymmetrical shapes which destruct the human body's normal form.

  • The English language has developed from a language with optional subjecthood Into a language with obligatory subjecthood due to a general reduction of inflections. Two types of subject omission, pro-drop and conjunction reduction, have been reported in the history of English. Old English with rich inflections had both referential pro-drop and conjunction reduction. Middle English with much lesser inflections still witnessed pro-drop and conjunction reduction, but in such a decreasing way that modern English with a loss of inflections developed from Middle English hardly has either pro-drop or conjunction reduction. This paper explores both the phenomena relating to optional subjecthood in Old, Middle, and Modern English in light of the cognitive processes of the universal, hierarchical constraints that are assumed to be inherent in English speakers' cognitive fatuity. It is found that optional subjecthood in Old, Middle, and Modern English is correctly raptured in terms of the distinct rankings of the proposed constraints, and that it is closely related to whether each of Old, Middle, and Modern English has rich inflections.

  • For a long time, it has been claimed that there is no tradition of tragedy in Asian Literature. This is because researchers have regarded Ancient Greek tragedy, which is an imitation of an action and has dramatic structure, as the only parameter of tragedy. The purpose of this paper is to examine the features of Korean tragedy in order to revise the parameters of tragedy. In chapter 2, by examining the generic features of 'drama' and 'lyric poetry', we obtained following hypothesis consisting of two elements: First, we can classify as lyric poetry that which has the dramatic device of the separation between the suffering character and the observer as a tragedy. Second, since in lyric poetry the character observed by the poetic self is eventually the alter ego of the poetic self, the observer in lyric poetry can only have pity towards the character. In Chapter 3, we examine lyric songs created from the third to fourth century B.C. to more modern lyric poetry to analyze the features of Korean lyric tragedy. They all depict a state of deadlock where the poetic self cannot move forward, and they are all structured in a similar way. In this common structure, the poetic self plays two roles: a character who is deadlocked and an observer who feels pity toward the character. By examining these features of Korean lyric tragedy, we suggest a new parameter of tragedy. Korean lyric tragedy can also provide a new perspective on modern tragedy that conflicts with traditional theories of tragedy.

  • In many people's minds, health promotion is simply a more modern term covering roughly the same field as disease prevention or life style related reduction of the risk factors of chronic disease. A review of the modern literature of health promotion make it clear that there is more to this term than what is involved in functioning as a synonym for disease prevention. Therefore, in order to reach a clear understanding of what health promotion is, this study suggest the concept of the health balance model. Health balance is represented in terms of an equilibrium between physical, social, and life-style-related health challenges on the one hand and health potential on the other hand. Thus, health promotion strategies encompasses both the reduction of health challenges and the strengthening of health potential. Many elements of reducing health challenge are mainly related to the regulation laws. Aspects of strengthening of health potential are related to activities of health center. Therefore, health promotion strategies at a community level should be included in regional health planning which is implemented by health center.

  • Acupuncture therapy has been proved to be effective for diverse diseases, symptoms, and conditions in numerous clinical trials. The growing popularity of acupuncture therapy has triggered the development of modern acupuncture-like stimulation devices (ASDs), which are equivalent or superior to manual acupuncture with respect to safety, decreased risk of infection, and facilitation of clinical trials. Here, we aim to summarize the research on modern ASDs, with a focus on featured devices undergoing active research and their effectiveness and target symptoms, along with annual publication rates. We searched the popular electronic databases Medline, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, and analyzed English-language studies on humans. Thereby, a total of 728 studies were identified, of which 195 studies met our inclusion criteria. Electrical stimulators were found to be the earliest and most widely studied devices (133 articles), followed by laser (44 articles), magnetic (16 articles), and ultrasound (2 articles) stimulators. A total of 114 studies used randomized controlled trials, and 109 studies reported therapeutic benefits. The majority of the studies (32%) focused on analgesia and pain-relief effects, followed by effects on brain activity (16%). All types of the reviewed ASDs were associated with increasing annual publication trends; specifically, the annual growth in publications regarding noninvasive stimulation methods was more rapid than that regarding invasive methods. Based on this observation, we anticipate that the noninvasive or minimally invasive ASDs will become more popular in acupuncture therapy.
