A coalition of information schools, called the iSchools Organization, was established to increase the visibility of library and information science and to cope with the new demands of the digital age. As of 2015, sixty-five schools from many different countries have joined the iSchools Organization. While some other schools are interested in adopting iSchools, there are still some issues that need to be considered before adopting the iSchool charter. This paper presents those issues from the perspectives of the 5C groups: curriculum, competencies, convergence, collaboration, and consensus. A survey was conducted to investigate some aspects of the 5Cs. This study identifies five iSchool-related issues - 5Cs. Providing perspectives in the areas of the 5Cs will be useful to establish stronger iSchools. These five Cs will resolve information problems that we are facing, prepare students or any organizations for the digital age, give students digital service skills, and train future data scientists. This paper represents practical guidelines to build a strong iSchool. With the success of iSchools, societies see us as more than the traditional librarian.

이 연구는 지역정보서비스의 용어에 대한 근본적인 접근을 통해 서비스에 대한 이해를 돕고, 지역정보서비스의 현 실상을 조사한 결과를 토대로 서비스의 의미에 부합되게 제공되는지를 충분히 검토한 뒤, 의미에 적합한 지역정보서비스 제공 방향을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 삼았다. 이러한 목적을 위해 이 연구에서는 (1) 지역정보서비스 관련 용어의 추이를 살펴보면서 지역정보서비스가 도서관서비스에서 가지는 의미를 분명하게 제시하고, (2) 국내 공공도서관의 지역정보서비스의 제공 실태를 조사한 뒤, (3) 지역정보서비스가 서비스 의미에 부합하게 제공되기 위해 우리 학계와 도서관계가 고민해야 할 과제와 전략에 대해서 논의하였다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 문헌연구와 사례조사를 실시하였고, 사례조사는 국내 12개 지역대표도서관의 홈페이지를 대상으로 분석하였다.

본 연구는 국내외 대학 문헌정보학 주요 교과목의 강의계획서 내의 수업내용, 수업방법 및 평가방법을 비교 분석하여 그 특징과 차이점을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 결과는 국내 문헌정보학 교육내용 및 방법 개선에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 국외 문헌정보학과의 정보조직론, 정보서비스론, 정보검색론, 도서관경영론의 강의계획서를 수집하여 수업내용과 방법 및 평가방법을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 각 과목별로 교과내용과 수업방법, 평가방법에 있어서 국외대학과 국내대학 간에 차이점이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 수업방식에서 국내대학에서는 강의, 발표, 시험이 공통적으로 사용되는 것과는 달리 외국의 경우 워크숍, 프로젝트, 시스템모델개발, 시뮬레이션, 사례연구, 전문가인터뷰 등 다양하게 시행되는 것으로 분석되었다.

The writer tries to propose some characteristics of profession and recommend those of librarianship. In this connection, the writer tries to define 'negative' and 'positive' functions of librarianship as a profession. The writer also aims at classifying various disciplines included in library sciencee Library science has to do with such phases as educational aids, storage and retrieval of knowledge and information, and librarianship itself. The title 'Librarian' carries with it the connotation of 'professional' in the sense that professional tasks require a special knowledge and background, that librarians try to maintain quality service to clients, the knowledge and information are produced, developed, and disseminated via librarians, and that librarians are responsible for continuing education. The fact that the present stage of librarianship is generally known to adhere to negative posture and randomness might permit other institutions to replace the library's role.

This study is concerned with a tentative plan on an arrangement and a model of university library building which is the 2nd (branch) library of J. National University in North Jeonla province. At first, it is necessary to have built new library building for undergraduate student in J. National University. Secondary, I studied on the site problems, a model, size and an arrangement planning in this campus. Finally, at least, to install modernized facilities for this library have to require as follows: 1. General Reading Room 2. Reference Room 3. Basic Reading Room 4. Free Reading Room 5. Reserved Room 6. Periodical Room 7. Seminar and Group Study Room 8. Brousing Room 9. Smoking Room 10. Display Hall.

최근 문헌정보학 분야에서 고객이라는 용어가 자주 쓰이기 시작하였으나. 기존의 용어인 이용자와 그 의미가 뚜렷이 구분되지 않고 있으며, 또한 도서관 현상에서는 고객이라는 용어에 대한 거부감도 나타나고 있다. 이에 따라 본 고에서는 고객이라는 용어의 의미를 관련 용어와 비교하여 고찰하고, 이러한 개념이 도서관 및 정보센터의 경영에 어떠한 의의를 가지는지를 논의하였다. 도서관은 고객 개념을 도입함으로써 경영에 마케팅관점을 적용하고 있으며, 이러한 활동은 도서관 경영 전반에 걸친 변화를 요구하고 있다.

정보기술과 통신기술의 성공적인 결합체인 인터넷의 확산으로 대학도서관은 위기와 기회에 동시에 직면해 있다. 본 연구는 대학도서관의 증가되는 비용과 감소되는 예산 이용자의 다양한 정보서비스 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 방안으로 도서관 개발 활동의 필요성을 제시하였다. 아울러 대학도서관의 개발을 위한 다양한 방법론과 사례의 제시를 통하여 우리나라 대학도서관의 개발에 적용해 볼 수 있는 개발 프로그램을 제안하였다. 궁극적으로 본 연구는 친구 커뮤니티 조직의 생성을 지원하고 기금조성 프로그램의 개발과 유료 정보서비스 방안을 검토함으로써 대학도서관이 직면하고 있는 위기를 기회로 전환 할 수 있도록 대학도서관 개발에 관한 방안을 제시하였다.

The libraries of the various learning institutes in the Yi Dynasty may be categorized into four types: 1) The Hyang-Gyo library(the public school libraries in rural districts) 2) The Sabu-Hankdang library (the public school libraries in the Capital) 3) The $S\bar{o}w\bar{o}n$ library (the libraries of private learning institutes) 4) The $Jyon-Gy\bar{o}ng-Gak$ library (the library of the Sung Kyun Kwan which was the highest learning institute in the Yi Dynasty) For the historical study of Korean libraries as well as its education and culture the Hyang-Gyo libraries hold an very important position, but undeservedly its study has been neglected. In this paper, the writer made an effort to grasp the various function of the Hyang-Gyo libraries with its historical background.

본 연구는 상명대학교 도서관에서 실시하고 있는 학술정보 이용교육의 실태를 밝히고, 나아가 보다 합리적인 학술정보 이용교육 방안을 도출하기 위하여 피교육자의 인구사회적 특성과 제공받은 학술정보 이용교육방법에 따라 이들의 학술정보서비스 이용법에 대한 인지도에 차이가 있을 것이라는 가설을 설정하구 이를 검정하였다. 총 112부의 응답지를 SAS를 통하여 통계처리하고, 변인간의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 t-test와 ANOVA를 통하여 검정한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학술정보 이용교육방법에 따른 피교육자들의 학술정보서비스 이용법에 대한 인지도에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 외국학술잡지시스템, 관련 사이트, 학위논문, 전자자료 원문복사서비스 전자자료 외부이용, e-book, 번역서비스의 이용법에 대한 인지도에 있어 의미 있는 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 학술정보 이용교육방법 증에는 그룹별 교육이 가장 효과적이며, 반대로 온라인 교육은 효과적이지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 가장 합리적인 학술정보 이용교육 방안은 학부의 고학년 및 대학원생을 중심으로 한 오프라인 형태의 그룹별 교육이었다.

본 연구는 공공도서관 실습교육의 현황과 문제점을 파악하고, 실습교육의 개선방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이론연구로서, 표준교과목과 실습교과목 분포 변화를 중심으로, 문헌정보학 분야 공공도서관 실습교육 필요성에 대한 근거를 논한다. 전국 4년제 문헌정보학 관련 학과 및 학부에 개설된 도서관 실습 교과목 현황을 파악하고, 서울시 소재 42개 구립 공공도서관의 실습교육 운영현황을 조사하여, 이를 기본업무형, 참여형, 주도형 등 3가지 유형으로 구분하고 각각의 특성을 살펴본다. 또한 사례연구로서 서울시 소재 S공공도서관과 C대학 문헌정보학과 간 실습교육 프로그램의 특성을 파악하고, 참여 학생과 현장 사서들의 실습교육에 대한 요구들을 분석한다. 이를 바탕으로, 결론에 갈음하여, 문헌정보학 분야 공공도서관 실습교육의 개선을 위해, 교수 교육기관, 사서 실습기관, 학생 등 실습교육 주체들의 당면 과제와 단계적 발전 방안을 제시한다.
