  • This study was designed to analyze the results of bone mineral density test in oriental medical examination. The subjects were workers in the automobile manufacturing industry. The subjects consisted of 3,206 industrial workers who had received oriental medical examination by oriental medicine and they submitted questionnaires about drinking history and smoking history, during 9 months from March to November. They were categorized by sex, age, job class, drinking history, smoking history and exercise history. The T-scores were measured by using OSTEOPRO(BMTECH, Seoul, Korea). We analyzed the relationship between sex, age, job class, drinking history, smoking history, exercise history and the results of bone mineral density using X2-test of the SPSS Ver. 14.0. There was a positive correlation between age and osteoporosis prevalence. In job class, sales personnel were apt to have a higher prevalence of osteoporosis than factory workers and office workers. Osteoporosis rates of the drinker group showed a higher level than the non-drinker group. Bone mineral densities of non-smoker group were higher than the Smoker group. And bone mineral densities of exerciser group were higher than the non-exerciser group. They have to encourage exercise and educate the workers to quit smoking for their health promotion. Furthermore, continuous health check up needs to be done connectedly.

  • As needs for knowledge on Korean history and the attention of the people are rapidly increasing, various smartphone applications for learning the history have appeared during recent years. These applications provide multiple choice questions to users through their own problem banks. But, since these questions are selected from the fixed set of problems that are stored previously, the learning efficiency of users is inevitably decreased when they use the applications repeatedly. In this paper, we present a question generation system named K-History which generates multiple choice questions in an automatic way using the database on the history of Korea. In addition, we also describe the development of the application Korean History Infinite Challenge as a learning application for Korean history. To develop K-History, we classify typical types of learning problems through various problems based on Korean history learning materials, proposing algorithms to generate problems according to the types found. Through the developed techniques, various learning systems can reduce the cost for creating questions, while increasing the learning efficiency of users.

  • "Susehyunseo" is an unpublished writing of Kimyounghun, a Korean doctor who was active in the Japanese occupation era. This book reveals the details about the traditional medical education of his time rather than his medical opinion because he had written it as a student to check his own medical system. Many representative TKM texts such as "Donguibogam", "Yixueruwen", and "Bangyakhappyun" are mentioned, but many medical documents that are lost now are also mentioned, making it a useful document in understanding the medical education circumstances of those times.

  • We investigate the origin and recent history for fuzzy equations. And we introduce the existence theorems of solutions for the fuzzy differential equation with infinite delays and fuzzy functional integral equations. We will also recent researches for controllability of sobolev-type semilinear integro-differential fuzzy system.

  • Since algebra before the 19th century was the study of equations and equations are not differentiated from polynomials because of lack of the equality sign, the algebraic symbolism of polynomials plays very important role for tile history of algebra. We deal with the evolution of literal notations of polynomials in western and eastern worlds, and then compare their history.
