The color is one of the important key words in Fashion arena today. In fashion, the image and concept changes by use of color or color combinations. The purpose of this research is to pursue the characteristics of color and color combinations through analyzing the colors utilized in oriental fashion design. It is necessary to define the oriental fashion design to build a criteria for collecting law materials for analysis of the research. As a conclusion, traditional oriental colors already used in various traditional artifacts were popular in use by many fashion designers with volatile attitudes towards its original symbolic meanings or philosophy. For example, yellow and red stands for gorgeous or sexy images through fashion design instead of express its original symbols of power and prosperity. The Complimentary Color Combination in hue, value and intensity of colors were also found in fashion design impling oriental images. While Contemporary Fashion Trend Color were also used in expressing Oriental images with oriental details considering fashion market. In using Oriental colors The characteristics of oriental colors and its combinations used in fashion designs are significant and their influences are meaningful not only in fashion design but also adjacent design areas.

Jeans fashion in contemporary fashion has various meanings and values, and the importance of it increases. The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative feature characteristics and the aesthetic values of Korean jeans fashion. Fashion photograghs from leading monthly fashion magazines from 2000 to 2005 were analyzed. The types of styles and the formative feature characteristics and the aesthetic values of Korean jeans fashion were studied. The major conclusions of the study are as follows 1. The types of Korean jeans fashion styles were western style, punk style, neo classic style and ethnic style. 2. The characteristics of Korean jeans fashion designs were the varieties in material, color, technique of expression and application. 3. The formative feature characteristics were traditionalism, sexualism, extraordinarily and exhibitionism. Korean jeans fashion has developed creative and decorative designs through various designs and styles. As the activities of the people can be increased in the future, the function and the design of jeans fashion can be developed diversely.
For every country, the flag is a major symbol that represents the country. Establishing image though the use of the country's symbol is more important for achieving national competitiveness in this global age. In Korea, Taekuki has not been actively applied to fashion products, however Korean people began to realize the Taekuki as a motif of fashion with 2002 World Cup. Thus, research on fashion product development applying Taekuki is needed. This research developed designs for fashion product development applying Taekuki. In addition, through suggesting various applied motives, this research explored the product possibility of global fashion design that represents Korean identity and fashion. For research method, after research on fashion design process, design development was progressed according to the 4-phases that comprehends processes previous researchers presented. First, in the problem recognition phase, background on the introduction of Taekuki to products and Taekuki fashion during 2002 World Cup was analyzed. Then, the need and possibility of fashion product development applying Taekuki's formative characteristics were found. Second, in research and analysis phase, meaning and history of Taekuki as well as flag fashion product developments in the U.S. and England examples were reviewed. Also, individual interviews with experts and consumers were conducted to collect qualitative data regarding product and design direction. Third, in idealization for problem solving phase, 62 designs including 43 apparels and 19 accessories were emerged. Finally, in evaluation phase, 40 university students majoring design evaluated designs' creativity, function, uniqueness, symbol, aesthetics, and harmony. Through this research, it is expected that fashion products applying Taekuki will be formly established as a fashion item. Furthermore, it is also expected that product development in other categories, brand planning, and product development using other national symbols such as name, anthem, and flower will be followed.
The purpose of this study was to develop a new Korean fashion design using forced-relationship techniques and the traditional hanbok Korean dress and Korean traditional images as the source of the ideas. The research methods consisted of literature research and design production. In the literature research for the hanbok composition and design elements, the concept and type of forced-relationship techniques were studied. The design development process was as follows. First, 'Developing a Korean fashion design' was set as the design theme. Second, the composition and design elements of hanbok and Korean motifs, which consist of Korean images were set as fixed elements of the forced-relationship technique. Third, among the various trends in keywords, 'punk' belonging to a subculture, was set as an arbitrary element of the forced-relationship technique. Fourth, the punk fashion design elements and items were listed. Fifth, a rough sketch was performed by selectively combining fixed and arbitrary elements. Sixth, a design evaluation process was conducted to select the designs out of 52 design sketches that fit the purpose of the study. Seventh, a total of six designs were selected after making design modifications. Through this, a total of six works of women's clothing was designed, made, and presented. This study offers the possibility of developing new Korean fashion design images, and a chance to share designs based on different cultural elements in the global market.
The purpose of this research was to give the basic educational sources that could nurture creative fashion designers for the creative advancement of the fashion industry. After investigating and categorizing the ideation behind designer collections in four fashion capitals - Paris, London, Milan and New York, the materialization of concepts was analyzed in relation to inspiration and design elements. As a result, design inspiration was classified into figures, artworks and art trends, historicity of fashion, regional features, natural objects, artificial objects, abstract concepts, clothing for specific occasions, events, and others. This study found that inspiration for fashion design comes from various fields, and that creative design skills can be nurtured through ideation training using a wide variety of subjects.

The purpose of this study is to provide the characteristics and development direction of K-fashion and to systematize the strategic features performed by government agencies, fashion associations, fashion companies, and other companies to activate K-fashion. This research analyzed K-fashion related articles published in major newspapers and magazines in Korea from the late 1990s to early 2017. The results of the study are as follows. 1. The characteristics of K-fashion are as follows: The first is a trendy and sophisticated design with modern sensibilities, unique designs that reinterpret the latest trends with designer creativity, practical and popular designs that ordinary people can wear comfortably in everyday life. The second is functional and trendy materials. The third is excellent sewing technology. The fourth is rapid turnover of products by quick connections among planning, production and sales. The fifth is a lower price than quality. 2. The direction for K-fashion to pursue was the continuous and ongoing development of the above characteristics and the creation of a 'design with the Korean emotion of its 5,000 year history'. 3. The following projects were carried out to promote K-fashion. 1) Utilization of K-pop, K-drama and other Korean wave content. (1) Holding a fashion concert event that combines Idol's K-Pop performances with fashion shows. (2) Hallyu (Korean wave) star's costume support and design collaboration with Hallyu stars. (3) Collaboration between entertainment companies and fashion companies. 2) Nurturing a global fashion branding project. 3) Business support for overseas expansion of the K-fashion brand. (1) Support project for foreign trade fair participation. (2) Holding a fashion brand fair in Korea. (3) Overseas business support by establishing a showroom and design center 4) Business to discover and nurture new designers
The objective of this study was to derive a list of creative thinking techniques applied with the requirements of the appropriate technique for the task of fashion design development among the process of fashion product planning. This was done through the analysis of thinking techniques by the type of thinking and idea method. Also, the study presented how each creative thinking technique derived is applied to the task of developing fashion design. The scope of the study was 'Fashion Design Development Task', which corresponds to the design sketch of a fashion item based on the seasonal design concept derived through the fashion design planning stage. Research on the thinking techniques consisted largely of the process of idea thinking, the elements of creative thinking, the patterns and types of thinking. Four studies by Makoto, Michalko, De Bono, and Cox suggesting that the patterns and types of thinking techniques were analyzed for the purpose of this study as empirical studies through FGI of a group of five fashion experts. The analysis results showed that the thinking techniques suitable for the development of fashion design were derived from the technique of fractionation, attributive listing, scamper, morphological analysis, mind mapping, lotus blossom, pattern language, provocative operation, and forced connection. In particular, it can be confirmed that the scamper was treated as an efficient and practical technique in the many studies.
With the prospect that integrating creative AI in the fashion design field will become more visible, this study considered the case of creative fashion design development through Human-AI Co-creation (HAIC). Methodologically, this research encompasses a literature review and empirical investigations. In the literature review, the fashion design and creative HAIC processes, and the possibilities of integrating AI in fashion design were considered. In the empirical study, based on the case analysis of generating fashion design through HAIC, the HAIC type according to the role and interaction method, and characteristics of humans and AI was considered, and the HAIC process for fashion design was derived. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, HAIC types in fashion design are divided into four types: AI-driven passive HAIC, human-driven passive HAIC, flexible interaction-based HAIC, and integrated interaction-based value creation HAIC. Second, the stages of the HAIC process for creative fashion design can be broadly divided into semantic data integration, visual ideation, design creation and expansion, design presentation, and design/manufacturing solution and UX platform creation. Third, in fashion design, HAIC contributes to human ability, enhancement of creativity, achievement of efficient workflow, and creation of new values. This research suggests that HAIC has the potential to revolutionize the fashion design industry by facilitating collaboration between humans and AI; consequently, enhancing creativity, and improving the efficiency of the design process. It also offers a framework for understanding the different types of HAIC and the stages involved in the creative fashion design process.
This study analyzes the characteristics of each element of neo-deconstructivist fashion design and examines fashion expression methods and techniques. This study combines theoretical research and case analysis to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of neo-deconstructivist fashion and the expressive characteristics of neo-deconstructivist fashion. Through analysis of previous research, the aesthetic characteristics of neo-deconstructivism were derived as inclusiveness, playfulness, communication, and intertextuality. Inclusivity in fashion refers to including various people, body types, aesthetics, and cultural backgrounds in the scope of design, and does not limit the scope of clothing design based on individual differences such as body type or gender. Playfulness is a neo-deconstructive fashion brand that combines exaggerated makeup, vibrant colors, intriguing designs, and imaginative fashion shows to spread upbeat and playful ideas. Communication in neo-deconstructivist fashion demonstrates communication through the use of creative themes and items that reflect consumers' needs through design and the consumer's fashion presentation method. Through the mutual quotation of aspects like traits, status, T.P.O., and materials that can reveal opposing texts, intertextuality emerged as a tendency to break up binary oppositions or break away from genres. The expressive qualities of neo-deconstructivist fashion design were examined and applied to the creation of innovative fashion design through examination of the case's silhouette, color, and material. Six sets of women's clothing were designed and produced. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of neo-deconstructivist fashion design, and are expected to provide a wide range of inspiration for fashion design ideas.

The purposes of this study are to analyze current situation of fashion market of Vietnam who is mainly influenced by Korean wave, analyze preferred fashion brand product and street fashion style of women in 10~20s interested in fashion so much, and develop the design suitable for Vietnamese consumers' preference so as to seek the methods domestic fashion industry can have competitive edge in emerging economic market. It's significant to suggest the direction of Korean new contents and seek the possibility of advancing new market by getting out of domestic market which is stagnated by preparing the foothold of fiber and fashion industry, beyond the first effects of Korean wave. Through this study, current situation of Korean wave which recently becomes new Korean wave based on the K-pop and futhermore, one of worldwide cultural situation could be recognized. Based on the preference of the Korean wave, current situation of Korean fashion industry spread gradually in Vietnam and design characteristics of fashion style preferred by Vietnamese consumers could be grasped. As the result, the design which can satisfy various needs of Vietnamese female consumers preferring fashion style was developed based on the characteristics by product's styles of Vietnamese fashion market. In addition, it intended to be helpful to plan the design of casual wear which is more professional so that Korean fashion industry can advance Vietnamese market through it.
